I got my new motorola Defy for few days ago and i have been trying to send/get mms or go to internet (wifi is ok) but to make a long story short: I dont have the button to turn on/of the Roaming!I have reset the phone many time but thats not working.
View 2 RepliesI know this thread is a year old, but I have to drag it up again as it seems Motorola haven't dealt with this problem yet. I have owned a Defy since a few weeks. I have a German vodafone contract which gives me a data roaming flatrate for several countries including Italy, where I am a lot of the time. And this roaming warning is driving me insane!! It pops up about 50 times a day (I live in an area with weak connection, so my phone loses the network sometimes, but finds it again after a few seconds, and up pops this warning), turns the screen on, drains the battery. It also pops up continually while I am driving and using the phone as a navigator, so I have to continually check "yes" so I can see the screen again, which can be pretty dangerous if you are driving on winding mountain roads...

and, sincerely, it is really difficult to take picture of oneself if a camera button is ON the touch screen, it is tricky and 7/10 times I accidentaly press something elese and not the camera button, and it just takes me to the side menu.
Is it possible to take on/off button or zoom/volume button (the only physical buttons on the phone) and reassign one of them to be a camera button?

The main buttons under the touch screen and on left and right of track pad dont work how do I fix this with out sending it in or buying a complete new phone?

I know where the Cellular Data and Roaming options are in Settings, though I don't know which I leave checked and unchecked for best results. I do not want to be charged for roaming data in any way on any app. Do I have to do anything with location services or anything else, also? (And, just to clarify: if I turn off roaming, I can still iMessage for free on Wifi, correct?) I'm using an iPhone 4S with the most current version of iOS 7 as of this post.

I was traveling in Germany and Italy, and I made sure to set "Data Services While Roaming" to "Off." However, I still did incur data roaming charges. They are really small-- like 15KB/day, but it's nonetheless annoying that my Blackberry Bold 9700 is using data even though I turned it off. I use AT&T. Does anyone know why?

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using a Razr Maxx (VZW) and am having the following issue with Motocast:When I attempt to download (or "download and open") certain pdf files from my remote computer, although it says "Starting to download (file name)" on my status bar at top of screen, then says "Motocast :: Download completed" on my notification screen, the files dont appear to be anywhere on my device. They should be going to My Files> Internal Phone Storage> download> Motocast> "Computer name"> "Documents" (which is name of folder synced with motocast). The files are all on my MacBook Pro's Documents folderEverything including music, pictures and all other file types seem download to the phone perfectly. There is one folder where several pdf's in that folder, and certain subfolders only (not all subfolders) just dont download. The download status seems to appear and disappear very quickly on these files that dont work, compared with the files that do work where the download status appears quickly (not as quick) and shows the download status bar reach completion.The files download to: /mnt /sdcard /Download /motocast /computer name / folder name / file nameI have tried to remove the folder in question from motocast then re add it with no luck. There are just some pdf files (and of course the most important files to me) from one folder that wont download to the phone

I plan to leave the phone off unless I need to check in with someone in US.I know that the voice rate will be $4.99 per minute, but how do I turn off the data portion of the phone to not rack up crazy roaming data charges.
