View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop doesn't recognise my DEFY via USB.More details: When I got the phone it worked but after a while not always. Sometimes it connected 5 minutes later but nowadays doesn't work at all.By power charger it is charging normally. When it's plugged to the computer, the phone's screen lights up, but doesn't connect or charge. If I tick on/off meanwhile the USB debug, the USB sign shows up but it's still not charging or connecting. (I've already tried all 4 options)Moreover when I remove the USB cable, the USB signal doesn't disappear until I restart the phone or abort the USB in the application manager.I've already tried to install or uninstall the driver (Moto Helper) but didn't help. The main problem is that if I connect the phone to the notebook, the device manager doesn't see it. (I tried different computers, Win XP and Win 7)I did a factory reset several times, I also tried changing usb cable... but nothing happened.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI ordered an extended life battery for my Defy, 3500mah battery that came with a new battery cover. after I installed it, I noticed that every time I connect the usb cable, the phone reboots! I tried connecting the phone first instead of having the charger pluged into the wall and still, it reboots every time! if I leave it connected and let it reboot, it will power up again and go on to charge. also the usb still works to connect with my pc, but again I have to wait till it reboots!

Im traveling abroad and when I do I always forward (unconditional fwd) my phone to voicemail. The problem is that I was never able to un-forward the phone from abroad. I was thinking that if I was able to turn off the voice part of the phone, I could turn it on and off as needed..

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince I've updated my phone, my screen refuses to turn on during a call, which is beyond frustrating. One, when someone texts me, I'll hear the notification while on the call , but I will have to wait until the other person ends the call for my screen to turn back on and I can continue from there.

View 1 Replies View Relatedsetting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo via Motorola website but it hasn't worked. My phone still shows firmware 2.1.1. Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Defy is denied application on the market with no reason that I understand. Some apps are not visible from the phone, and are said "non compatible" from the market website. Sometime the website talks of country restriction while they should not be.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly. This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file. After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had two Razr's behave the same, whenever audio plays, especially using the headphone jack and external speakers, one can hear an audiable click or pop just before and after the audio plays. This happens with Pandora, Rhapsody, and Google Navigator. I haven't tested other audio based apps yet.Verizon and Motorola say they've not heard of this issue, so I'm wondering how many other Razr owners have noticed this pop? Hearing such noises as the audio turns on and off is not acceptable quality for a Motorola branded phone.I don't know enough about how the Android OS works, but I'm thinking there are two possible causes. First, as different apps access the audio hardware the internal electronics of the phone produce an audible pop as the circuits power up and down. Alternatively, the Android OS may be probing the headpone jack trying to determine if it's connected to external speakers. I've noticed that the pop gets louder as the phone approaches 100% charge.
With a 90% charge or better I've even had the audio output go quiet if the headset cable is moved, even though the audio application shows audio is playing. I know that removing the headset cable will pause the player, but in this case hitting play starts the player and it shows progress, but no audio is heard.
I've been using my Moto Droid, running Android 2.2.2 for some time now. Up until recently, I've been able to use it to listen to Pandora and mp3s loaded onto the phone. Now, any time I plug a set of headphones into the audio jack, the audio is really distorted. It sounds like a channel is out or something, and this happens across all volume levels. It pretty much sounds like you're listening to music underwater. Doesn't matter if it's streaming adio through Pandora or mp3 audio. When I unplug the headset (any headset, mind you) and go to external speaker, the audio is fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have several bluetooth speakers. I'll pair a speaker (UE boom in this case), connect the phone to the speaker and start to play some music. The audio comes out of the phone speakers. I had the phone "forget" the bluetooth speaker and then re-paired, no dice, audio still comes through the phone speakers. The same thing happens with my car sometimes. I've tried everything.

View 24 Replies View RelatedAt night, while I'm trying to sleep, I don't want to be disturbed by audio notifications, but I still want calls and the alarm clock to wake me. If I use the "Ring/Silent Switch", it kills the audio notifications nicely, but also kills the tone for calls - and I missed 2 important calls last night. I know I can disable Wi-Fi, but then I won't get any emails and I need to be able to have my emails up-to-date. I often have scheduled work calls in the middle of the night but they can get cancelled so I like to be able to quickly check for cancelled calls before I fully wake up, so I can go back to sleep in possible. Is the only way to go through the Notification Centre and manually turn each time of notifcation off?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI spend most of my day connected to wifi at work with really spotty cell reception. I was wondering if there was some app that could switch from 3G to 2G whenever a wifi connection was up. It seems it would save battery life and I don't need 3G connectivity if I am on wifi...
