IPhone :: Its Plugged In, But Not Charging And Restarting?
May 29, 2012
My iPhone 4 started messing up, so I restored it, now the battery DOESN'T charge but only shows that it's plugged in. I don't have a warranty anymore, so replacing the phone isn't an option. Is the battery having problems.or is it the dock connector? I would assume it's the battery because even unplugged it restarts, but the dock connector could be broken also right? Well I don't really know what the dock connector does, but I just was asking basically
my iphone 4 says it's charging when plugged in, but not actually charging, have reset iphone and tried on several different chargers but still not working! tried the new update, but my itunes won't download it!
It started when i came to Canada from UAE, i used my uncles HTC charger because my plug was a different design that the ones from here. It charged straight to 75% and up. Battery life started diminshing faster from that day on, and now it barely stays on for a few minutes. Now i wanted to know, is it a battery thing, or could the charging hole could be damaged? Also, how do you move the trackpad from one housing to another? it seems to be built straight into the keyboard, but on the one i bought doesnt have on.
Help! I bought a BlackBerry Charging Pod for my 9700, the packaging that came with it says it is for a Tour 9630.
I plugged it in and the power light on the pod lit up but there is no indication on the 9700 that says it is charging when placed in pod and I set the clock to display when charging and that doesn't work when placed in the pod!I bought it from a place called OEM in Brooklyn.
So I have been charging my device every night I go to bed and while it is plugged in sometimes the battery meter doesn't display that lighting bolt to show that it is charging.
My Nexus 5 won't charge - the battery is showing a lightening strike *as though* it is charging, but when you go into the battery screen, it says "not charging".
When you first plug it in (if in the battery screen) it will go from "AC Charging" to "not charging" although nothing has changed.
So about a week ago, I docked my iPhone 4S into my Sony ICF-C7iP clock radio as I do every evening before going to bed. I bought this clock radio back in August and have had no problems with it at all. However this time, I noticed my phone was not charging. It didn't make the charging beep nor did it show on the display that it was charging. I tried removing it & re-seating it...nothing. I tried rebooting my phone which resulted in the same problem. When I plug my iPhone into either a standard sync cable or an iPhone dock, it charges/syncs as normal.
Suspecting the problem was with the alarm clock, I contacted Sony support. The clueless support rep on the other line suggested I return the clock in exchange for a refurbished one. For a $60 clock, this was more trouble than it was worth, so I decided against it.
I then decided to purchase an iHome iA9 which was sure to work. I just unpacked it and set it up. When I docked the iPhone on it...you guessed it...nothing. It is still not charging. The funny thing is that the iPhone will play music through the iHome with no problems. I had also tried plugging the iHome into a different outlet with no luck either. I am out of ideas. I am left to assume that for some reason, my phone does no longer like charging when docked on to an alarm clock.
how I can get this to work again? I recently upgraded to iOS 5.1 and honestly don't know if that would have anything to do with it. But the likelihood of 2 completely different clock radios exhibiting the same problem is virtually non-existent.
As mentioned, I tried rebooting the phone with no luck. Docking the phone to a standard charging cable plugged into the wall charges the phone fine. Docking the phone on an iPhone compatable dock charges the phone fine. Is the problem with my phone?
as the title says I have a iphone 5s on 3 uk network and i use it for tethering, when the phone is not plugged into a usb or charging I am able to pull down 20meg speeds but when the phone is on charge my signal drops from 3 bars to 1 and the speed is really slow just able to pull down 1meg if I am lucky Â
I'm having a problem with an Xperia X8.First off, I should explain that it's second hand, and there's the possibility that the warranty period is over already (most likely the case).
The phone is running on 2.1, the latest update for X8. But the phone doesn't charge when it's plugged. Whenever I use USB or a charger, the orange light comes on quite alright. But the battery status stays as 'Discharging'.I know there are several forums and such that probably have answers, but the problems I've been seeing have differed in one way or the other (for example one person said his battery stayed at 30%-31% and sometimes wipes out to 5%) so I'm skeptical about trying the solutions lest I do some big harm to the phone.Presently I'm using an external charger, meaning I have to remove my battery each time I want to charge it, leaving my phone switched off for the duration. You can imagine how uncomfortable this is. I should probably note that my battery has managed to hit 78% with the external charger, but I also fear that continuously using the external charger will get the battery bad at some point.
There's no update for the phone again. Is there anything I can do to get this battery solution fixed? Maybe repair phone software or something like that?
1) phone occasionally thinks its charging when it is not plugged in, very annoying, have to restart phone. any ideas? oh and also is there away to turn of that annoying little charging light? ive resorted to covering it with a 1mm square of black electrical tape because its annoying if you sleep next to phone!
2) I had about 600ish photos in my gallery, the other day that dropped to 0, the photos are still there but are not in gallery, after about 5 restarts there are now 50 images in the gallery some of which were taken on the night in question and some weeks before. very annoying as i dont want to look through images on file browser
So I have a blackberry 9300 that I use on the Mobilicity network. My charging port broke off that, so I have been using an older 8520 with no sim card to charge my 9300Usually, I just pop the battery out and put it into the older one, and it charges in about an hour. The last time I did this was on Friday. Last night, I tried charging my battery using the same method, and it stopped working. The phone recognized that it was plugged in (it changed screens to the clock) but the phone then freezes and doesn't charge.I googled around today, and reinstalled the OS through my PC (Desktop software recognized it and let me do it) but it still didn't charge. I know its getting some power because its still on, and its super red battery level.
When I unplug my Galaxy Note 5, it constantly beeps at me and says "Not Charging". Obviously it's not because it's not plugged in but I've tried restarting it, turning it off for a while and letting it sit and it still does this. It's really annoying and I don't know why it's doing this. A message pops up on the screen for a split second, but I cannot read it for it disappears really quickly and I can't even get a screen shot of it. What's happening?
i just got my 8520 last aug 23. it was all working fine, until last night i was supposed to charge it. it charged at first then it turned off. it didnt turned on for a while. i took off the charger then it restarted..everytime i tried to charge it, it just keeps on restarting. no error message at all.
Since the update to v21.2.045 my N97 will "beep" and when I look at it I see the "Charging" screen and then the battery levels are scrolling as if the phone is charging. This is happening when the phone is not plugged into a PC or wall. THe only way to stop it is to turn the phone off and restart it.
My battery in my blackberry curved died. I have plugged it into the wall charger. It turns on and it says it is charging but it still says I have zero battery, its been plugged in for 3 hrs. When I disconnect the phone from the plus it turns off.
I recently got a MotoX (2nd Gen) and have noticed several times the lock screen says "Charging - 4 hours till fully charged" and the battery icon has the lightning bolt symbol showing charging... But nothing is plugged in or connected!!!
I've had this storm for a while now, since like Jan of last year. Its given me my headaches, and little things with using too much memory with their apps...sucks lol.
But the latest issue is with charging. I noticed sometimes the bolt comes up saying that its getting power, and sometimes it will just staylike that, but will loose power, or if i wiggle it the right way it will stay charging.
If not then sometimes it wont get a charge even though its plugged in! Is it the charger, or the phone port? Becuase I am charging it through my computer, although super slow, it doesnt have the same issues as my wall charger by my bed!
So my phone wont charge properly and I cant work out if its the battery or the slot you put the charger in whenever I put an actual charger in the phone it doesn't charge properly the little emblem to say its charging will disappear within 2 mins however when I plug my usb from my computer into my phone it decides to charge. Once its charged it'll die within probably an hour or half an hour it will go from 40% to 8% within 5 minutes. So whether to get a new battery or product that can charge my battery without having to put any usb lead actually in my phone.
Does anyone notice the droid x 2 continues to say its charging after being removed from the car dock and also the music cuts in and out when playing it through speakers? is this a bug or an actual problem with my phone?
My Motorola Charm's battery life went all the way to 0% because I couldn't get to my charger in time, but now everytime I try plugging it into the charger, it won't charge up. I even tried charging it for 2 days, and still the screen says 0%, and the phone won't turn on no matter what.
I have a bb torch 9800 it was working really awesome but all of a sudden when I woke up in morning it was switched off. I tried charging but even then its not showing any charging symbol nor its its turning on, And I tried a new battery then it got on but after 2min its getting restart repeatedly even then its not charging if I plug it to charger, but I tried my old battery in another torch its charging properly. I took it to bb authorised service center they told me its mother board fault, but I can't believe it bcoz its just 6months old.
I notice the charging pod has a little light that turns on when it has power.I generally tend to keep my wall charger plugged in at all times, and just plug in the phone when needed, since the plug is behind furniture.
Is there any downfall/possible damage of keeping the pod plugged in at all times, even if the phone is often not in?
My sons Nokia was recently repaired under an insurance claim for water damage. After approx 2 weeks of recieving the phone back from the insurers the phone starting bhaving eratically - not allowing him to play music, showing the phone was charging when it wasnt plugged in. Well before i had chance to do anything about this the phone is now completly unresponsive, it turns on and off but when it is on none of the keys work, the touchpad doesnt work when you slide the screen up and down it does nothing. Does anyone know if this is something likely to be linked to the repair or if it is likely to be a seperate problem with the handset (possibly covered under warrenty) and just a coincednce?
My iPhone 5S charges fine when USB plugged in at wall but when plugged into computer nothing happens. I have tried using a different cable and computer but the same results. Any way to fix this as I would like to sync my phone again?Â
I have an Iphone 4s that was purchased a few months ago. The charging cable all of a sudden would not charge my phone and I noticed there is a burn mark on the inside of the plug that goes into my phone. Is this cable covered under applecare plus warranty and should I be worried there is a problem with my phone?
