Sep 2, 2010I have had this phone now for about 4 months and i like the phone a lot...i dont use the phone a lot at all realy may get 1 call a day and make 1 call a day and send receive some messages so i can go all most a week with out charging but in the last week it has started going flat in just 24 hrs...this happend once before and then i found that there was a app running so once i turned that off it was right but this time i cant find anything running...what should i do !

Battery and Data Manager shows that Zombieville % power used increases, but when I start Advanced Task Manager or Android Asssistant, neither of them shows the Zombieville process running. When I look using Manage Apps, the Force Stop button is greyed out. The only way to stop it is to shut down my Atrix 2.

I held down the power button and chose to POWER OFF. That was last night around 1AM. Today, around 7PM, I held power to turn it on but it wouldn't. I kept trying to no avail. Finally, I plugged in a USB charging cable and it slowly came to life. At this point, the white charging light refused to come on (normally it's on right away).

Aug 4, 2011Both my wife and I have Defy's owned for 4 months and upgraded to Froyo 2.2 some weeks ago.both working normally.Then yesterday my phone, for no obvious reason, came up with the message "Invalid Battery.Your device battery is invalid and cannot be charged. Replace the battery with an origional motorola battery." Also the battery symbol at top right of display is black, not green, and has a? mark in it. I have checked my battery, which came with the phone, and it is official Motorola with hologram. So is my wifes.I tried swapping the batteries and while my battery works perfectly in her phone, her battery in my phone gives the same errors.I then tried a master reset....Twice! Both successful, wiping all my data, and requiring me to set up the phone again, but problem still remains.

Mar 18, 2012I have recorded short work outs by mistake several times. I then reset the device and carry out my workout as usual. Unfortunately the motoactv then syncs with my wifi and uploads both workouts.I know that I can delete workouts by hovering over the workout in the bar charts view however this is not the case if you've got a short workout recorded on the same day (as in the above situation). In fact I don't see the dud workout in the bar chart view but when I switch to the table view there it is. Annoyingly I can't delete the workout from within the table view.
Also, are there any known issues of only occasional syncing with a wifi network once it's been set up? Sometimes I return from a run and the workout syncs straight away. Sometimes the workout never syncs and I have to plug in the cable in order to do this. Tonight I actually lost a workout as it didn't sync and then disappeared off the device!
Motorola Defy :: Battery Will Not Charge?
Jun 3, 2011So, I got this new Motorola Defy less than a week ago. Recently, the phone died and now that it's connected to the charger, it doesn't seem to be charging. After leaving it on the charger for 8 hours, it still read 0% and I couldn't turn it it. I've taken it out, had it plugged in without the battery, put it back in, just about everything you can do with it without taking anything apart.

Oct 20, 2011I have noticed the battery on my defy+ goes down to 90% from full charge within an hour. This is my 3rd charge and I charged it for 3 hour for the first time like it said in the user manual. After it goes to 90% the battery holds good charge. It lasted me 12 hours with me playing around on it all night. Also I had my phone on for 2 days and I checked the phone up time in the settings and it said 55 mins. So I don't know if it has been rebooting itself maybe because of updates or a problem.

Then I got 2 replacement batteries, followed by the original battery. All three of them have a battery life of 5 hours. I turn off the wi-fi and kill all the apps, but the battery life still stays the same. When I checked the battery usage, it says that the phone idle time used up about half of the battery life. I know that android phones have short battery lives, but 5 hours is ridiculous.

By then it was last charged 11-12 hours ago.I installed the OS Monitor from the market to check what is eating up my battery. Turns out that the "init" process starts eating up all free CPU resources after a while. The phones runs smoothly for about an hour or two after turning on. But as soon as the init process starts using the entire CPU, battery goes down very quickly.I did not install any new apps after the update besides the OS Monitor. So the apps have not changed. Still the battey dies very quickly.What can I do to get my phone back to its old charge cycle?

Dec 9, 2011I grabbed my Motorola Defy used about 6 months ago with absolutely nothing wrong with it.I work at a garage, I'm constantly coated in grease.About a month ago the ear speaker stopped working, now calls can only be heard through headphones or speaker phone.
About 2 weeks ago, close to every time I put my Defy in my pocket, it shuts down. Unlock button becomes unresponsive, doesn't power back on until I pull the battery out and put it back in. It seems to do this whenever pressure is applied across the screen while locked.

Nov 3, 2011I had my X8 since Feb and got couple apps (stats of, quick settings) that improved its battery life to 3-4 days. However few wks ago after I've done some stadard updates to the alrd existing apps it started draining the battery. From time to time, after full charge, it may last 2 days but generaly 24h is a max My mobile data and wifi are usualy off and I just use it for txt'ing and short calls...Display, screen time out, sound etc are at they lowest... no automatic updates... Don't know what else could cause such a massive change. I've probably used it more for other stuff (browsing, mp3, gaming) before and it still lasted 3 days.

May 8, 2010I upgraded my firmware on my 5800 to V50 2 days ago. Everything seemed to work fine.Yesterday I noticed the battery getting very hot for a few hours. I wasn't doing anything particularly intensive - I was surfing with Opera, doing some uploading of pictures to OVI - stuff that I quite often do without any battery problems. Overnight the battery had drained and was empty.I'm sure I did not leave any applications running overnight. The battery was fully charged before I went to bed.It's now charging, and seems to be functioning OK.Of course I don't know for sure that the firmware update is the reason for the rapid draining of the battery, or the earlier overheating. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Jul 3, 2010When I leave it on standby for 8h I notice that it uses 40% of the battery even-though wifi and Bluetooth are off. How come? One time I left for 2-3h. Bluetooth and wifi on and even-though Bluetooth wasn't used (only gets through when a call comes in while I'm driving) and the internet just a little bit it used almost 50% by the time I was back. I'm pretty sure thats not normal.I wonder if the battery doctor app will do any improvement to that.
