I recently purchased the Droid Bionic approximately 2 weeks ago. I got one for my husband also. Recently, my phone has been randomly shutting off and the only way to turn it back on is to remove the battery. It has also happened when the phone is on and I am charging it. My husband's phone has not randomly shut off at any time. I have downloaded a few apps which include Accuweather, Go SMS pro and PicSpeed Wallpaper. I also inserted my micro SD card from my old phone into the new phone which I just removed to see if the phone will randomly shut down. I also do not have the pocket detector on.
My Iphone 4s is dead. I plug in it to the charger and the battery pops up on the screen, after a couple minutes it powers in but will not charge I ttmried to reset it and it powers off but will not power back up the battery pops back up..
Phone won't turn on. Doesn't show 'battery' when plugged in to charge. It was in my holster, next to my body. It had 90% charge when I put it on. 5 hrs later I found it off, and it won't turn on. What do I do?
I plugged my 8330 in my computer to charge and it just shut off immediately.... now i cant get it to turn on... the red led comes on and then shuts off, the screen flashes white for a moment, then the led comes on again, and it repeats this cycle... it has turned on once since its been doing this and i tried to plug it into my computer to back it up, but it just shut off again and its been doing the cycle ever since. i already have a new phone i just need the numbers and stuff from my old one.... if anyone knows what might be happening please help me out.... i cant plug in the phone because when i do it shuts off.... im going to have to back it up using bluetooth. btw i can completely dissasemble the phone if necessary, its just a pile of junk right now anyway... all i want is my phone numbers from it so anyway u think i might be able to get it to turn, and yes... i have tried pulling the battery
I got a defy at September, and since then it's about the 3rd time that I plug in my phone at the end of the day, I go to sleep, and when I wake up the phones battery is still at the same percent as it was, and the battery and the back of the phone is really (I mean REALLY) hot. When I take off the charger and put it back, it starts to charge.
A couple weeks ago the Xoom stopped charging. I took it to work to look at it and then it just started charging at work. I brought it home and it was charging again at home too. I thought it must have been some fluke. Only now it is doing it again. I have tried dozens of outlets, and they work for any other device but not for the Xoom. It won't charge.
Here are the specs: iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.4, 16gb, GSMÂ
I've never had any big problems with this phone while using it, but today it randomly shut down, so I thought it might be a battery information glitch, because it has happened with a different iPhone of mine. So, I connected my phone to electricity, it turned on and stayed like that for a while (I had fully charged the phone a few hours ago) and it showed 94% of battery left, which is quite normal. The odd thing was, that it was searching for carrier and it was impossible to turn wi-fi on, the button was not responding.
So I went ahead and rebooted the phone, still had the same issue. While still connected to the charger, the phone suddenly died again, showed low battery and turned on again. After a minute or two, the same thing happened again and after another reboot - again, again and again. I tried to reset the settings, still no carrier and still rebooting, even while charging. I tried completely erasing data and settings, but it was impossible to do that, because it asks for the iCloud password. Since it cannot be connected to the internet, there is no way for me to do that. When unplugging the phone, it dies in the same second. Next, I tried connecting the phone to my computer, but I can't even get it to turn on for a minute, because it reboots all the time after a few seconds (doesn't get enough power through the usb, I guess). Tried DFU mode, still no success. While connected to the computer, iTunes won't show the device connected to the computer.Â
So, there is no way to update the OS through the phone, because there is no way I can connect it to the web, resetting the settings won't do a thing, completely erasing the phone is impossible, because it cannot be connected to the internet, impossible to connect to a computer, because it reboots all the time, so no way to restore the phone.
I live in an area covered by Verizon Wireless and a smaller local Cell company, so I have to enable data roaming to get emails in certain places. I've enabled it several times and it will not stay on, it shuts off if I lose service for any ammount of time, or if I restart the phone. Is there any way to keep it permanently enabled?
when i place the phone on a metal table. so far any kind of metal. it even does it when in a case. this is the second bionic im on and it does the same thing. so im almost betting most of the phones do this too.
My friend and I both have the Droid 2 global.... and we both have experienced this problem... when updating Roaming Capabilities... we have both Experienced this.. (*228 option 2) ... 1/2 way through the update... a staticky noise will be heard and then the phone will completely shut off... (Ive had mutliple devices myself do to other warrenty defects and experienced this problem on other devices as well)..
Is there any way to turn the orientation of the screen when the HDMI cable is plugged in.
Currently when i use the HDMI cable the screen turns such that the cable goes in from the bottom which if the XOOM is on my lap is awkward. It would bebetter if the HDMI port was at the top.
Ok, so just checking if there is any explanation other than a hardware problem here. I received my second refurb today after my first one arrived with obvious hardware problems and I had to send it back. Twice so far, while plugged in to the AC wall charger, my battery has started discharging. This is with the Motorola wall charger and Motorola extended battery. One time I was using the phone when this happened and the other I was not - it was just sitting there with nothing happening on it but with the screen on and plugged in.
This has never happened before, so if it is a hardware problem, it would be much more likely the "new" phone rather than the battery. I don't want to go through the replacement process a third time and lose even more time without a functioning phone if this could potentially be caused by something else. They said they will not send me a new (non-refurb) phone, no matter how many problems I have and no matter how many broken "certified like new" phones they send me. Doing a search on this, all I found were posts about car chargers not providing enough power with Navigator in use, which does not apply to my case. I really want this not to be a hardware problem with the phone since they will just send me yet another untested, broken refurb, so I'm just grasping for straws I guess despite the obvious.
Right after I have rebooted my Droid my sound continues when the screen times out. However, somewhere along the way something changes and when the screen times out the sound goes too.
I can't force the sound to stay on when the screen times out after that; unless I got through the tedious process of shutting down and rebooting.
The first time it happened I was in a meeting, picked up my phone to check for messages and the phone was off. Power button would not turn the phone on. I had to take the battery out and back in again for the phone to turn on, battery was at 65%. It happened another time since then and the only fix was to take the battery out. It's not that the screen goes black like other posts. The phone shuts down.Did I get a bad phone? Should I take it back to Verizon? The only apps that I have downloaded are Astro, BatteryLife, Beautiful Widgets, Handcent, Daily News
As soon as I answer a phone call, the display on my Droid 3 goes black. It does not wait until I put the phone to my face as the user guide says. It does not come back on until I press the power button briefly. Same with sending a call.
Recently when I plugged my Bionic into the USB port to download some photos, I received a device not recognized popup. From day one I have been able to plug this in, and Windows 7 would automatically assign a drive letter and I had access to my SD card. I have downloaded the Motorola Device Manager. From what I can tell, it should appear in the system tray. It does not. I have uninstalled, then reinstalled this program to no avail. Opening the case to remove the SD card to stick it into the card reader on my computer is a major pain.
Does anyone notice the droid x 2 continues to say its charging after being removed from the car dock and also the music cuts in and out when playing it through speakers? is this a bug or an actual problem with my phone?
I checked it in the settings " Vibrate on Keypress " and it ONLY happens when the unit is plugged in! I went back to Verizon and the same thing happened on the display unit! Most Android smartphones Vibrate when ever you press ANY KEY or icon.. Not this one! Why in the world would it ONLY Vibrate when PLUGGED in?
This is something I've dealt with and have tried to address ever since ICS was released. Each night I set my phone into the standard dock (non-usb one), and the bedside mode comes up as it should and the screen dims after a minute or so as it should. It is usually around 10 to 15 minutes after I dock the phone that the problem occurs. What happens: The bedside alarm app is removed from the screen, revealing the home screen in landscape mode. My screen then times out (shuts off) as it should, because the bedside alarm clock is not the active window. My alarms work fine, but I can't see what time it is when I wake up before my alarm goes off unless I turn the screen on and look at the lock screen. I've tried factory resets, fxz file, removing all apps from recent apps list, resetting the alarm app data, nothing seems to.
My iPhone charge only lasts half day generally and shuts down at anywhere between 30% and 10% charge. I have contacted apple and my battery is not part of the recall and they did a diagnostics report from the phone and say its fine.
I can't upgrade for 12mths due to contract but don't think i can keep putting up with this.
x10 shuts off at 60-65% charge. PC Companion has been run, and android re installed. Apps removed. Same problem persists. Phone will run when pugged into power. When unplugged from power will not operate below 60-65%. Phone can be started but will shut off immediately.
My first x10a was replaced without issue when you had to stand next to router to receive wi-fi signal (carrier=Rogers). The warranty on this 10 month old phone has expired as Rogers only looks at the original purchase date
