View 2 RepliesI live in an area covered by Verizon Wireless and a smaller local Cell company, so I have to enable data roaming to get emails in certain places. I've enabled it several times and it will not stay on, it shuts off if I lose service for any ammount of time, or if I restart the phone. Is there any way to keep it permanently enabled?

View 1 Replies View RelatedRight after I have rebooted my Droid my sound continues when the screen times out. However, somewhere along the way something changes and when the screen times out the sound goes too.
I can't force the sound to stay on when the screen times out after that; unless I got through the tedious process of shutting down and rebooting.
The first time it happened I was in a meeting, picked up my phone to check for messages and the phone was off. Power button would not turn the phone on. I had to take the battery out and back in again for the phone to turn on, battery was at 65%. It happened another time since then and the only fix was to take the battery out. It's not that the screen goes black like other posts. The phone shuts down.Did I get a bad phone? Should I take it back to Verizon? The only apps that I have downloaded are Astro, BatteryLife, Beautiful Widgets, Handcent, Daily News
View 15 Replies View RelatedAs soon as I answer a phone call, the display on my Droid 3 goes black. It does not wait until I put the phone to my face as the user guide says. It does not come back on until I press the power button briefly. Same with sending a call.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is something I've dealt with and have tried to address ever since ICS was released. Each night I set my phone into the standard dock (non-usb one), and the bedside mode comes up as it should and the screen dims after a minute or so as it should. It is usually around 10 to 15 minutes after I dock the phone that the problem occurs. What happens: The bedside alarm app is removed from the screen, revealing the home screen in landscape mode. My screen then times out (shuts off) as it should, because the bedside alarm clock is not the active window. My alarms work fine, but I can't see what time it is when I wake up before my alarm goes off unless I turn the screen on and look at the lock screen. I've tried factory resets, fxz file, removing all apps from recent apps list, resetting the alarm app data, nothing seems to.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the Droid Bionic approximately 2 weeks ago. I got one for my husband also. Recently, my phone has been randomly shutting off and the only way to turn it back on is to remove the battery. It has also happened when the phone is on and I am charging it. My husband's phone has not randomly shut off at any time. I have downloaded a few apps which include Accuweather, Go SMS pro and PicSpeed Wallpaper. I also inserted my micro SD card from my old phone into the new phone which I just removed to see if the phone will randomly shut down. I also do not have the pocket detector on.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Atrix shuts down when it goes to sleep, even on a completely full charge. I have done a factory reset (didn't fix it), hard reset, soft reset and pulled the battery and left it out. The only thing that stops it at times is to reload it through the Motorola Software Update on my PC. After that, it works flawlessly for about a day, then after charging it all night, I unplug it and it starts all over again.
Before it shuts down, (if you can catch it) it vibrates. If you hit the power button really quick before it cuts off, you can see on the screen that it has a low battery warning and the battery indicator will be red and showing it as drained, and the phone will cut off. When you turn it back on, the battery is back to where the charge was before it does the sleep/shut off. This cycle continues until I reload the software, then it works for about a day until I have to charge it again.
I'm also having a problem with this device. I don't know if it's a battery problem or not and I think it started happening after the latest firmware update. I haven't been able to run to give it a try but just using it as an every day watch, it shuts off at random times and the only way to get it back up is to connect it to a power source. When I restart the device, it shows the battery at what ever level it was at before it shut down. I also notice that the date and time have been resetted.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy 2 month old phone, started to freeze two weeks after I got it. Sprint is aware. Now my phone shuts off. Before I could take out battery, now Its just 100% stuck on Motorola screen. Its been charging, Ive tried everything! Its going on day two.... my Droid HTC started this way. Service fixed it, for a bit then back to same problems. I upgraded to this phone, Sprint said since its past my 30 days, more $ out of my pocket. for just a refurbished one. I just want to turn it on and have my touch screen work and receive what Im paying for. I need my phone at all times for my child!
View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes, when I am actively using my XPRT, scrolling a web page, or looking at game scores, pretty much any activity I use the phone for, the screen will just shut off. I have the delays set very high, like 2 minutes or more, but the screen still gets in the mode of just wanting to be off.
So, the screen shuts off, I have to press the button on top the phone, then swipe the little slider to get back to what I'm doing. Then within 1 or 2 or 3 seconds it shuts off again. The happens for 6 or 8 or 10 times, then things return to normal. Then I can use the phone as normal again and the screen stays on.
My Admiral's screen intermittently shuts off when I'm working on the phone, and I have to use the screen/power key to turn it back on. Also, the backlighting on the keyboard seems to be hit or miss as well. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the proximity sensor?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have my screen timeout set at 2 minutes. When using the music player, the screen does indeed shut off after 2 minutes, but a minute or so later the music player stops. If I set the screen timout to never timeout, the music player keeps playing. Is this a problem with all Atrix's or just mine? Also, while I have your ear, how do I actually SHUT THE MUSIC PLAYER? I don't mean just pause the music, I mean the off button?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have the timeout for my screen set for two minutes. this is normally good as my major use is checking e-mail or surfing the web. if i am watching a Internet video longer than 2 minutes or using navigation the xoom shuts off and i have to press the power button and then play (if i was watching a video) to continue for another two minutes until it shuts off again. here's my question.. am i missing something in settings or do i just have to adjust the screen timeout time every time i want to use an app that doesn't require me touching the screen for 2 minutes?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOccurred 3rd time in last 2 months(well spread incidents) - Photon just starts rebooting continously on its own (shuts down - loads back to the startup screens - connects to sprint - shuts down again..... loop continues non stop). During the restarts if it is un-noticed for a while the phone gets very hot. The only way to stop is to pull the battery out, after which it starts fine. Not sure what the issue is. Any thoughts? Would not prefer to do a factory reset as there is no observed pattern, all three incidents were when phone was not being used and was in the pocket. No extra apps are running generally whenever I check through the task manager - I cannot check while the phone is rebooting though.
View 13 Replies View RelatedDoes Motorola intentionally make their new products inferior at release?I've been using a Droid and a Droid 2 for about 18 months.I shoot a lot of pictures outdoors, some macro, lots of nature and concerts.I also shoot indoors under challenging conditions (concert lighting.) They have both prtovided a passable point-and-shoot camera. The Droid 3 camera is dissapointing in that several important features have vanished:
-There is auto white balance, only a manual and difficult-to-use control.
-The user can no longer set ISO
-The user can no longer set EV
-Focus is iffy under a variety of conditions
-Photos have a bluish cast under most conditions, with and without flash
So instead of getting pretty good shots with a convenient camera, I'm getting washed-out, bluish garbage.(Issues with the video vs. Droid 2 also, in a separate post.)I want to know if Motorola intends to make the experience of this camera catch up with the spec soon, or if i should return my phone while I can still get something else from Verizon.
Just received the GB 2.3.3 update on my Droid X and all I can say is WOW!does it ever change the look of the phone. Still getting used to the changes but one thing I've noticed is that when you click on the blue Voice Dial button on the phone page, it syas, "Application is not installed on your phone". if this was by design with the 2.3.3 update? Is so, can you please advise as to where to download the app. I had voice dial on the previous version.

However, less than half of my Gallery pictures made it over. Because the Gallery is a stock app and not in the marketplace it is not on the the above market transfer desktop application.I also have astro and estrong on my device.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter several months of going thru various LG, Nokia and Htc phones, I couldnt pull the trigger on who I was going to give my next 2 years to. And if any of you have been with Verizon for a while you guys know how we cherished that NE2 (new every 2 yrs and 100 dollars towards it)....lol. With Verizon pushing the Blackberry and tons of dumbphones (2009) I even considered changing carriers. So after months of media hype I decided to wait before the change. In Dec of 2009 I got a OG Droid. Awesome phone which my daughter uses now. In Dec 2010 I got a Droid X and in Dec 2011 I got a Moto Xoom wifi. I chose the Xoom this year instead of a phone because I honestly feel that the DX2 and the Bionic shouldve been 1 phone instead of 2 phones tryning to fill gaps till the Razor came out.....thats another story for another time......To sum it all up: The OG droid will always be one of the phones that changed the market! The first android phone that was released to Verizon's Captive Audience with only blackberrys and dumbphones to choose from.....
