Motorola Droid 2 :: Spontaneously Stop Using The Earpiece For Call Audio?
Jun 14, 2011I want to like this phone so much but it keeps giving me problems. First, I am having the random reboot problem that is well documented on this and many other forums, so I won't go into that. One other thing that has been happening more frequently however is a problem with call volume. The phone will spontaneously stop using the earpiece for call audio and send the audio to the speakerphone on the back with the lowest volume setting. Adjusting the volume while in the call does not change anything, nor does turning on/off the speakerphone.This occurs during both in-coming and out-going calls. All other phone audio plays at normal volume levels, its just the audio during calls. It is extremely frustrating as the only way to fix it is to reboot the phone, so I have to hang up with whoever I am talking to and call back. Does anyone know any way to solve this problem? I'm hoping the pending Gingerbread update fixes these issues, but I am ready to return the phone and get something else if these aren't fixed.

Jun 15, 2010Just last week I got myself a new nokia e72, the first day itself- i started experiencing problems-the thing started to reset itself numerous times. I decided to do a firmware upgrade and still NO CHANGE! The next day it started to spontaneously switch off without no reason. I completely formated both my memory card and phone memory and still the same problem! I gota say, it's a piece of junk! The thing resets itself and likes to off itself! Anybody experiencing similar problems? What a waste of money!

Jul 12, 2011I live in an area covered by Verizon Wireless and a smaller local Cell company, so I have to enable data roaming to get emails in certain places. I've enabled it several times and it will not stay on, it shuts off if I lose service for any ammount of time, or if I restart the phone. Is there any way to keep it permanently enabled?

Sep 25, 2011The first time it happened I was in a meeting, picked up my phone to check for messages and the phone was off. Power button would not turn the phone on. I had to take the battery out and back in again for the phone to turn on, battery was at 65%. It happened another time since then and the only fix was to take the battery out.It's not that the screen goes black like other posts. The phone shuts down.Did I get a bad phone? Should I take it back to Verizon? The only apps that I have downloaded are Astro, BatteryLife, Beautiful Widgets, Handcent, Daily News

Sep 27, 2011Periodically, the phone will apparently be off for no reason - and will not respond in any way, not even to turn on with the power button. I have to pull the battery and replace it in order to power it up again. Most of the time, when I discover the phone off, the phone itself is very hot. I've noticed when pulling the battery, that the battery itself feels fine - warmer than usual, but not as hot as the phone itself.Also, most of the time, after I get the phone up and running again, it shows a very low charge on the battery (like 20% or so), even though it may have shown 80% hours earlier. This part doesn't happen every time - sometimes it comes back up still showing a good charge. But most of the time, it shows a low figure.

Each night I set my phone into the standard dock (non-usb one), and the bedside mode comes up as it should and the screen dims after a minute or so as it should. It is usually around 10 to 15 minutes after I dock the phone that the problem occurs. What happens: The bedside alarm app is removed from the screen, revealing the home screen in landscape mode. My screen then times out (shuts off) as it should, because the bedside alarm clock is not the active window. My alarms work fine, but I can't see what time it is when I wake up before my alarm goes off unless I turn the screen on and look at the lock screen. I've tried factory resets, fxz file, removing all apps from recent apps list, resetting the alarm app data, nothing seems to.

Recently, my phone has been randomly shutting off and the only way to turn it back on is to remove the battery. It has also happened when the phone is on and I am charging it. My husband's phone has not randomly shut off at any time. I have downloaded a few apps which include Accuweather, Go SMS pro and PicSpeed Wallpaper. I also inserted my micro SD card from my old phone into the new phone which I just removed to see if the phone will randomly shut down. I also do not have the pocket detector on.

Also on Sunday afternoon I dialed *228 (Verizon) to update my roaming capabilities.it was successful and after about 30 seconds by phone rebooted itself. Yes, I have done a battery pull.

Jul 6, 2010I encountered a weird issue. I'd looked at a couple of photos in my camera roll, then set the phone (iPhone 4) down and went back to working. The phone went to sleep, and when I woke it up again, I got the screen saying that the photo libraries were being rebuilt (or something along those lines...I saw it before when I added a bunch of photos at once), and when the new libraries were displayed, my camera roll was all jumbled up. It grabbed all of the most recent (well, from ca. 3 weeks ago onward) photos and shoved them back toward the top of the library with photos from a year ago. It doesn't seem to have randomly jumbled everything up; it's just this chunk that got moved way back in the timeline. New photos still show up at the bottom of the list, but when you have as many photos as I do on this thing, to not have them chronological anymore is a PITA, to say the least.
I'm restoring now, though I doubt it will do any good as I'd synced after noticing the problem.
Nokia :: 5230 Wallpaper Spontaneously Reverts To Default
Jul 12, 2010I decided to replace the default wallpaper with something more appealing and so took a picture with the phone's camera and set it as the wallpaper. Later on, when I came to use the phone again I found it had reverted to the default wallpaper. The phone had not been switched off meantime. I reset the wallpaper again and, again, later on, I found it had reverted again. I store my camera images on the memory card (Sandisk 8GB) and have had no problems with any other data stored on the card. However, just in case the phone was having sporadic problems not being able instantly to read the card and so thinking it wasn't there, I copied the image to the phone's memory. I'm now waiting to see if it happens again. I can't upgrade the software to the latest release (R12) as I am on Tesco Mobile and their latest customised version of S60 is still based on R11.

Aug 31, 2015I've had a Sony ZL2 SOL25 for just over a year now. Everything was fine until a few weeks ago. I upgraded to Android 4.4.2 around the same time, but this might be a coincidence.
My phone now lasts a couple of hours before shutting itself off, without warning and when there is (supposedly) charge in the battery. It also drops % randomly. From 70% to 55% over the space of 10 minutes. The maximum usage I've been able to get of the phone is 6 hours (about 60-90 minutes use, the rest it's idle). I'm not sure where the problem is: the battery, the battery information on screen, the update?
I have factory reset it twice over the last week and if anything, it's just gotten worse. I have added no apps since the last reset, not even configurated email. The problem is not only the very limited battery life, it's that the battery reading is unrealiable, I feel like I never really know what the real capacity is and when it's going to die. What I have figured out is that once it hits 50% that signals the end is near. I rarely see it go under 40%, it will usually shut down before that.
More details: This happens at any charge level, for example today it shutdown at 78%. It seemed the battery was having a good day, as I had left the house 2 hours prior and disconnected the charger at 100%, so it had "only" lost 20% during two hours (mostly idle, but about 15min with location services and 20min with facebook/browsing). I got my phone out to take a photo and noted the charge (78%) and right after taking the photo the phone just stated "Shutting Down" and the battery signal in the corner was red (couldn't read %). It would not restart, I tried several times but it wouldn't complete the start-up sequence, turning itself off in about 2-5 seconds. About 30 minutes later I managed to turn it on, it showed the charge as being 16%. I thought I had enough power to send an sms, but as it was sending it shut down again as the battery was 0% and so it turned itself off (this process between turning on and the power showing 16% and shutting down took less than 2 minutes, but the sms went through! Yay for silver linings!). About an hour later I had access to my charger and connected to the power cable, which after 10 minutes said it was at 60% charge.

The screen is approaching too hot to touch temperature! I drilled a big long slit in my case to let it breathe better. And I have a tempered glass screen protector.

Mar 31, 2010My jailbroken iPhone 3GS running on 3.1 was not responding to anything so I did the home button + power button reset, and it seems to be in this loop of turning on, staying on for about 40 seconds, then just shuts off. My computer won't detect it, I have tried SSH'ing so I can back up my stuff that way, because I haven't backed up since last October, which is not a good thing at all. I have heard of iRecovery but I'm not sure if it will put my phone in restore mode or not, I DO NOT want to restore my phone. Unless I really have to, but hopefully someone can elaborate for me exactly what iRecovery does, or if theres something else I can do.

Mar 2, 2011I have recently bought a Xperia X8 in New Zealand. It was sold in the Vodafone phone section of an electronic store, the salesperson assured me it was not locked to Vodafone so I decided to buy it and take it back home with me to Samoa. Prior to departing for Samoa, I've used the phone with a Vodafone NZ sim card for about a week, everything worked fine, internet, GMail, apps market, apps etc.After arriving back in Samoa, I hooked it up to my computer to update the phone software which included an upgrade to Android 2.1. After that, I took it down to a Digicel (one of the two mobile phone service providers in Samoa) store to get my internet set up. After leaving the store I've realised only the browser's internet connection worked, but no internet connection for of the apps, apps market, GMail etc...
(1)No internet Did some research on the net about this problem, tried getting the wizard back up and signing into my google account, no luck. Formatted the phone, tried to set up my google account straight away in the wizard, no luck. Digicel doesnt know what's wrong either. There are no Android phones currently sold by Digicel in Samoa so I guess I can't really blame them. It's very frustrating. Fortunately, I've been able to hook up the phone to my home's wifi connection, internet works fine of course...the apps, the apps market, GMail etc.
(2) Phone shuts down with other sim cards Ever since having taken the phone down to the Digicel store (they took it to the back so I don't know what else they did with the phone) to get the internet set up, no other sim cards work with the phone. Well they work, but, only a few seconds or at most a minute after entering the sim pin, then the phone just goes blank and reboots itself. This happens with simcards from the other mobile phone service provider (tried both mine and my dad's) AND with the Vodafone sim card I used in NZ!?!?! Could Digicel have done something to the phone which makes it shut down when non-Digicel sim cards are inserted?

Dec 7, 2015I've seen three or four times where my L950 appears to be shut down. As in the screen is off and pushing the power button does seem to do anything. Eventually I hold down the power button for a while (more than 4 seconds, maybe 10 seconds) and the phone eventually plays a tone and reboots(?) itself.

Mar 12, 2015It will randomly crash, normally when I'm switching in between apps or opening apps. It shuts down without any notification, screen just goes blank. About 50% of the time I have to boot it up connected to the USB power cord or it will just crash again in the same fashion once the OS is loaded. Battery charge is at the same percent pre and post crash. I've downgraded to Kitkat as well as upgraded to the newest Lollipop 5.1, factory resets, and clearing cache. Currently on 5.1 and rooted. Same problem. I bought a battery from a questionable eBay seller and after installing am having the same problem, maybe more frequent. I'm thinking it's a hardware issue somewhere, perhaps I got a bad battery. My warranty is expired so I can't RMA it.
