I tried the HDMI output connected to my 46" tv the other night and liked the result. However the "navigation bar" at the bottom of the Xoom screen is not displayed on the tv. It would be handy to have this as part of the hdmi output so that I could navigate from across the room with my bluetooth mouse.

Came across this article today which states, in summary, that Android tablets (including the Xoom) and Apple Notebook which a mini HDMI port are facing trouble after a HDMI Organization source states that the mini connection does not fulfill HDMI specification.Further, HDMI Org also claims that these brands have not received a proper license from them nor have they requested any authorization for the use of the ports. An official from the HDMI Org said that they have asked several tablet producers to replace the Mini DP plug that is currently fitted into tablets with a socket for it to conform to their standards and regulations.URL]Unfortunately, this article is not independently sourced. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my Xoom to any port on my Samsung LCD, it syncs at 1280 x 720 only. There are no settings for the HDMI ports on the TV, they are all auto sensing. I am using a 9` HDMI cable. The picture looks fine, although I'm sure it could look better.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHave an Atrix 4G by At&T. I plug my HDMI cable into the TV (in an attempt to show video, pics, anything) and I get a Motorola logo flashing around only. The Entertainment Center shows up on the phone. If I press anything on the Entertainment Center it disappears, my TV goes blank for a few seconds, then the Motorola logo comes back. I can get the Entertainment Center back thru the pull down, but any selection, it starts all over again.

I have the pieces, and have verified I can do straight HDMI to a monitor that supports it. When I try to run the signal to DVI on a different monitor, I get nothing.
I'm having problems playing my .mp4 files on my TV using the HDMI output option. The mirroring keeps blacking out and coming back in. It's almost not woth watching a movie because of it. Before 4.0.3 I was able to playback flash video in the browser on my TV through the HDMI cable, now with 4.0.3 I have lost that ability. When trying to playback flash video on the browser in fullscreen, the screen becomes all black and the audio stops.

Currently when i use the HDMI cable the screen turns such that the cable goes in from the bottom which if the XOOM is on my lap is awkward. It would bebetter if the HDMI port was at the top.
I fitted my Atrix on the multimedia dock, power connected then connected HDMI cable from the mm dock to my Vaio laptop HDMI, as I read and understood the firefox browser should be launched directly but did not happen
By the way I have the whole motorola multimedia kit.
My HDMI icon stays in my status bar after I use HDMI to my TV. It won't go away until a reboot. Does anyone know why? Is there a procedure I'm not following to disconnect cable?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI ordered my Xoom from amazon.com, and exactly one day after their 30 day return period my tablet awakened showing only vertical lines. I am able to do a forced power-up (Volume up, power) but all you can see is the tablet going through the appropriately-colored start sequence, complete with the pulsating blue and purple honeycomb sequence - but with only somewhat compressed vertical lines. You can't really see where anything is on the screen, which has made it impossible to really acheive a factory reset start sequence. I've tried searching for this problem and haven't found it anywhere. I was wondering if anyone else had seen this.
Motorola suggested checking with place of purchase for return/exchange policy and/or returning the tablet to them. Mainly I'm curious if any others have experienced this and to let anyone who is know that they aren't the only one.
I love my Xoom, and after only 36hrs without it I am already missing it. Not looking forward to another couple of weeks.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced 5-10 thin blue lines/streaks in their display (red on a black background). I first noticed the issue when using my Kindle app a few months ago. Eventually they disappeared but now they've returned. It has been several days and like last time, don't go away with a device reboot or reset.

They show up fine in outlook and webmail, but on the Xoom they show up with tiny placeholders (boxes with green question marksressing on "show pictures" does not help. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a XOOM WiFi I bought from Staples on launch day. A couple of days ago the screen started turning blue. If the device sits unused (such as overnight) the next morning it is fine for about a minute or two. Then it turns blue again. The blue corruption moves. If I try to scroll up on a list that is already scrolled as far as it can go a blue "halo" appears at the bottom of the screen for as long as I hold my finger on the screen. It disappears after a few seconds. I've already tried a soft reset. I haven't tried a factory wipe yet as I was hoping to avoid that.

It is using the 3.2 system and immediately when I turned it on I noticed that the boot up screen (blue honeycomb screen) was very blurry. Once it booted up I went on the browser and noticed that some of the ad boxes on the browser, dolphin and default were fuzzy and grainy. I also noticed that videos that opened and played from web pages were a little blurry. This is not the case with my friends aseus. We did a side by side. Is this normal for the xoom? View 3 Replies View Relatedsince I updated the software I have the following issue. when I use maps I select the destination and then switch off the phone's display (lock key) and use spoken directions only. saves massively on batery power. but now after each direction it unlocks the phone (switches the display back on). previous version worked just fine. as a result on longer journeys it has become useless for me.
please let it keep switched off again. or make it optional. or a system option to not let any application unlock the phone.
I have a C5-00 5MP and I downloaded maps for walking ("with street names"). But Ovi Maps seems unable to get aware of it : the menu allowing to select the walking guidance voice in settings remains empty. The voices for driving guidance are displayed OK though.
