Motorola Droid Razr :: NFL Mobile & HDMI Mirroring?
Nov 14, 2011Just tried to use the HDMI mirroring capability to my computer monitor and my flat screen TV with the NFL Mobile app so I could watch MNF on a bigger screen (I don't have ESPN). Every time it gives me an error. I can do anything else in the HDMI mirroring mode. I'm wondering if the NFL app shuts down when there is an external display detected or if it's something wrong with what I'm doing on my end. Anyone else able to get this to work?

Jun 21, 2012Have an Atrix 4G by At&T. I plug my HDMI cable into the TV (in an attempt to show video, pics, anything) and I get a Motorola logo flashing around only. The Entertainment Center shows up on the phone. If I press anything on the Entertainment Center it disappears, my TV goes blank for a few seconds, then the Motorola logo comes back. I can get the Entertainment Center back thru the pull down, but any selection, it starts all over again.

Oct 11, 2011Is there a certain sequence to disconnecting HDMI from streaming video over the internet?I used it this weekend to stream a show from the internet and when I disconnect (pulled the HDMI cable out) it still says HDMI connection detected. The icon up in the notification bar doesn't go away unless I reboot the phone.

Sep 15, 2011I am not the only one to have had this happen. ANother poster over at Droidfourms.net has had the same thing happen to them. The screen after disconnecting from the HDMI port will go dim like it is about to shut off but it won't. It will stay dim until you manually turn off the screen with the top power button. It is a glitch and battery killing one to say the least. Anyone else have the issue or remedy other than rebooting like I had to! I mean why do I have to tear apart an Otterbox case everyday? If the HDMI glitch doesn't bother me then it is the black screen of death requiring another battery pull!

Dec 7, 2012Just traded in my Bionic for a RAZR MAXX HD - I am trying to use HDMI mirror mode with the Motorola Smart Controller (RZ100) and BT keyboard to get me as close to a Lapdock as possible. I am on JB OTA, didn't have ICS to compare this bug to.
2 problems/bugs I have run into:
Playing video's thru any app I've tried (MX Player, Stock player, Netflix etc.) The video plays fine, sound good etc.........if I pause, stop, rewind, fast forward or exit Video app. The phone soft resets 90% of the time? After having the phone connected via HDMI cable, when I unplug the phone. I have no media sound coming from phone speakers until I reboot the phone, sound must still be trying to route thru HDMI port even though cable is not plugged in?
there is no notification that pops up showing it is in running in Mirror Mode. Should there be? Similar to how it works when placed in the car dock?

Jan 11, 2012My Razr constantly detects a HDMI cable connection, even though there is no HDMI cable near it (not even a USB cable is connected). A popup keeps showing up asking me to "Select Dock Type". This has been really annoying, as I need to dismiss it every time it shows up. I can't find a way to disable the detection of the HDMI cable.
This problem started after 2 weeks into owning the phone, back in mid December. I called Verizon technical support. They thought it was a hardware defect, and sent me a replacement phone. However, when I received the phone, I found that it was a refurbished phone with a big scratch on the side. I returned it and kept my original one.
Other than this problem, everything runs great, and I love my Razr. My question is: has anyone seen this problem? I have learned to deal with it by dismissing the popup every time I unlock the screen. Can a future software update include a setting where I can disable the HDMI detection?

Jan 14, 2013I will turn on my mobile hotspot on my droid 4 and i will connect it to my motorola XY board tablet, and i will be in the mist of using it when all of the sudden i will lose internet connection on my tablet. I know it is not a problem with my tablet, because when i am at home i will be connected to my home internet and i wont lose connection at all. Jun 22, 2011My Droid 2 Global started doing that today. I would press the button on top that turns ON the display, and the login screen appeared, as usual. Then, when I attempted to insert my password, the display would suddenly turn off before I could go any further, and when I pressed the top button again, it had returned to the initial login screen. I couldn't get past the password entry! I typed faster, got my password in, then went to settings to confirm the display time: it was set for 2 minutes to display shutoff. I then removed my password, just in case I couldn't get back on! Periodically, again, the display turned off very quickly for no reason, during the next hour or so. During that time, I turned my Droid off, then on, but it still didn't cooperate. Next, I removed the battery, and replaced it. Still no luck. The phone wasn't overly warm (that's ANOTHER question--why does it get so hot!), as it has been on other occasions.!
