I used my bionic today with the hdmi cable to show a powerpoint presentation on the big screen. It was very cool, but after I unplugged the cable, the hdmi cable connected icon stayed on the notification bar and I can't seem to make it go away.

My HDMI icon stays in my status bar after I use HDMI to my TV. It won't go away until a reboot. Does anyone know why? Is there a procedure I'm not following to disconnect cable?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am not the only one to have had this happen. ANother poster over at Droidfourms.net has had the same thing happen to them. The screen after disconnecting from the HDMI port will go dim like it is about to shut off but it won't. It will stay dim until you manually turn off the screen with the top power button. It is a glitch and battery killing one to say the least. Anyone else have the issue or remedy other than rebooting like I had to! I mean why do I have to tear apart an Otterbox case everyday? If the HDMI glitch doesn't bother me then it is the black screen of death requiring another battery pull!

I purchased my bionic at the end of October and I noticed that when I turn my wifi on at home, I still see the 3g/4g Icon, where as with my old Droid X it would go away. I noticed that even with wifi on the signal strengh for the 3g/4g still toggles back and forth and move up and down.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have not been able to get a data connection all day. i lost my data connection near my house this morning right on the border of 4g/3g area. i drove to work about 25 miles away where there is 3g only and still have not been able to establish a data connection. i have rebooted the phone, pulled the battery, rebooted in safe mode, switched to cdma only, switched on an off airplane mode countless times and still have no data connection. i do have a 3g icon with almost 4 bars in the status bar, but no connection. browser not connecting, no facebook, no Internet...nothing.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I just looked at my 4G LTE indicator while it was blue and saw it rapidly disappear switch to a white/bluish box for 1/10 of a second and then the 4G LTE indicator reappeared in blue. This is all while streaming Pandora. The phone seemed to keep switching every 15 seconds or so for 5 minutes before I decided to reboot. The reboot seems to have fixed whatever it was for now.
I still wonder if it was a software icon glitch, data connection issue, or something else.
Is there a way to block 3rd party apps from saving to my gallery? Words with Friends and a couple other apps(I'm not sure which) are saving other people's and my user icons and random other pictures from advertisements to my gallery. I'm scared I'll show my friends my phone or something, which I do, and one will ask "why do you have pictures of me saved to your phone?!" It's not the Social Update gallery, I turned that off.

I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?

Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.

However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave experienced this with a couple of applications (Freecaddie Pro and My Tracks) the program is suppose to store to SD card and it saves to internal memory. Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.

Every time it gives me an error. I can do anything else in the HDMI mirroring mode. I'm wondering if the NFL app shuts down when there is an external display detected or if it's something wrong with what I'm doing on my end. Anyone else able to get this to work?

What wasn't awesome is that the screen timesout and that's it for the audio.So if I want to listen to my music, do I have to set the screen timeout for never? Is there no specific HDMI mirror mode setting for this? I looked around and couldn't find one.
