Nov 18, 2011I purchased my bionic at the end of October and I noticed that when I turn my wifi on at home, I still see the 3g/4g Icon, where as with my old Droid X it would go away. I noticed that even with wifi on the signal strengh for the 3g/4g still toggles back and forth and move up and down.

Nov 17, 2011I used my bionic today with the hdmi cable to show a powerpoint presentation on the big screen. It was very cool, but after I unplugged the cable, the hdmi cable connected icon stayed on the notification bar and I can't seem to make it go away.

Nov 10, 2011i have not been able to get a data connection all day. i lost my data connection near my house this morning right on the border of 4g/3g area. i drove to work about 25 miles away where there is 3g only and still have not been able to establish a data connection. i have rebooted the phone, pulled the battery, rebooted in safe mode, switched to cdma only, switched on an off airplane mode countless times and still have no data connection. i do have a 3g icon with almost 4 bars in the status bar, but no connection. browser not connecting, no facebook, no Internet...nothing.

Dec 14, 2011So I just looked at my 4G LTE indicator while it was blue and saw it rapidly disappear switch to a white/bluish box for 1/10 of a second and then the 4G LTE indicator reappeared in blue. This is all while streaming Pandora. The phone seemed to keep switching every 15 seconds or so for 5 minutes before I decided to reboot. The reboot seems to have fixed whatever it was for now.
I still wonder if it was a software icon glitch, data connection issue, or something else.
Motorola Droid Bionic :: Blocking 3rd Party Picture/Icon Downloads?
Sep 16, 2011Is there a way to block 3rd party apps from saving to my gallery? Words with Friends and a couple other apps(I'm not sure which) are saving other people's and my user icons and random other pictures from advertisements to my gallery. I'm scared I'll show my friends my phone or something, which I do, and one will ask "why do you have pictures of me saved to your phone?!" It's not the Social Update gallery, I turned that off.

Nov 28, 2011Does anyone know of any surefire way to transfer files to and from the Bionic to a windows 7 PC?
I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa.Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Motorola Droid Bionic :: Bionic Apps Cannot Get Data Connection
Nov 17, 2011Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).

At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?

Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.

Nov 6, 2011Gmail is my email. I long ago disabled the "conversation" (threaded) view of messages in Gmail iitself on the web, and in settings on any device. However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."

Oct 2, 2011Have experienced this with a couple of applications (Freecaddie Pro and My Tracks) the program is suppose to store to SD card and it saves to internal memory. Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.

Oct 11, 2012When I go to "My Accounts" on my Droid Bionic, and then click on "Add account", I get the error message "Sorry! The application My Accounts (process com.motorola.setup) has stopped unexpectedly."
I wiped out my Bionic and then re-set everything up, and it was working fine until I added my FB account, and then removed the account. Now I can't add any new accounts at all.

Sep 16, 2011I used Google's https: market.android.com to transfer all my apps from my Droid 1 to my Bionic. By and large it was seemless and quick. However, less than half of my Gallery pictures made it over. Because the Gallery is a stock app and not in the marketplace it is not on the the above market transfer desktop application.I also have astro and estrong on my device.

Mar 15, 2012I connect my Droid X via USB to my PC, just like always to open and move/copy files between phone and computer, but Windows doesn't recognize photos I've taken since November 2011. I browse to the DCIM directory where my photos are located, but I can't open them with ANY program on my PC, not even preview them, with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, any graphics program, Picasa photo viewer, etc. The error says that the photo type is either invalid, or I don't have ot latest update to Windows Photo viewer, but I do have the latest.
Photos taken prior to November are just fine, and all photos can be viewed on my phone from the gallery or opening the directory. I have long suspected this was due to an automatic Android update pushed to my phone at the end of October/early November, and have put it off, but now I really need to get photos off my phone.

I went to use my bluetooth headset and got nothing (a problem I reported earlier), so I rebooted the phone. That fixed the sound, but I noticed I had no network. I saw a post that said it would come back if I toggled airplane mode. It put the phone in airplane mode just fine, but when I asked it to turn off airplane mode, it immediately rebooted.

Nov 22, 2012My phone was having restarting issues before the ICS update, it was happening every other day or so but when the ICS update came through it appeared that my phone was fine.
In the last week and a half or so all of a sudden it would start suddenly resetting, 4 times in the middle of calls that I can remember definitely and 3 or 4 times while it was sitting on the counter charging (once multiple times in a row). It doesn't seem to be tied to any specific action and I was wondering if there is any kind of diagnosis or app that I can run to try to figure out of it's a memory/freezing problem?

Sep 16, 2011my LED light will not shut off rendering what should be a "feature" into an "I'm this close to getting a hammer and going to town" incident.Wish there was a way to turn it off entirely.I don't know what else to check.

Motorola Droid Bionic :: Difference Between HW A And HW B?
Nov 17, 2011I have a Bionic from the day after release and a friend has a newer Bionic. I have some camera lag and small issues similar to a lot of people here, but he doesn't seem to have any problems. If you look at the label under the battery, you will see what I assume is a hardware revision number. Mine is "HW A" and his is "HW B". Anyone know the revisions if I am assuming right? The next line has what I believe to be a manufacture date. I think mine was 27/11 (week of 2011) and his was 42/11.
