Motorola Droid Bionic :: HDMI Icon Stays In Status Bar After Use HDMI To TV
Jul 30, 2012
My HDMI icon stays in my status bar after I use HDMI to my TV. It won't go away until a reboot. Does anyone know why? Is there a procedure I'm not following to disconnect cable?
I used my bionic today with the hdmi cable to show a powerpoint presentation on the big screen. It was very cool, but after I unplugged the cable, the hdmi cable connected icon stayed on the notification bar and I can't seem to make it go away.
I am not the only one to have had this happen. ANother poster over at Droidfourms.net has had the same thing happen to them. The screen after disconnecting from the HDMI port will go dim like it is about to shut off but it won't. It will stay dim until you manually turn off the screen with the top power button. It is a glitch and battery killing one to say the least. Anyone else have the issue or remedy other than rebooting like I had to! I mean why do I have to tear apart an Otterbox case everyday? If the HDMI glitch doesn't bother me then it is the black screen of death requiring another battery pull!
My Phone . I replace the hdmi cable and the same thing was happening. I had Verizon replace my Bionic and the same thing is happening. Is this going on with other phones and what can i do? Cannt look at movies, photo or anything on my TV or any other TV.
I fitted my Atrix on the multimedia dock, power connected then connected HDMI cable from the mm dock to my Vaio laptop HDMI, as I read and understood the firefox browser should be launched directly but did not happen
By the way I have the whole motorola multimedia kit.
Came across this article today which states, in summary, that Android tablets (including the Xoom) and Apple Notebook which a mini HDMI port are facing trouble after a HDMI Organization source states that the mini connection does not fulfill HDMI specification.Further, HDMI Org also claims that these brands have not received a proper license from them nor have they requested any authorization for the use of the ports. An official from the HDMI Org said that they have asked several tablet producers to replace the Mini DP plug that is currently fitted into tablets with a socket for it to conform to their standards and regulations.URL]Unfortunately, this article is not independently sourced. If true, this is a bombshell.
I got the HDMI cable with the N8, I tried to connect my N8 to the Sony Bravia TV with this cable. But it is not fit into the HDMI port of the TV.Is there any other connectivity cable require to connect phone and TV through HDMI cable?
Is there a certain sequence to disconnecting HDMI from streaming video over the internet?I used it this weekend to stream a show from the internet and when I disconnect (pulled the HDMI cable out) it still says HDMI connection detected. The icon up in the notification bar doesn't go away unless I reboot the phone.
For instance if I play a movie from Netflix or Redbox Instant the picture is blurry/grainy (but when you look at the picture on the phone it is perfect) and after a while the phone will crash and re-set itself.
Just tried to use the HDMI mirroring capability to my computer monitor and my flat screen TV with the NFL Mobile app so I could watch MNF on a bigger screen (I don't have ESPN). Every time it gives me an error. I can do anything else in the HDMI mirroring mode. I'm wondering if the NFL app shuts down when there is an external display detected or if it's something wrong with what I'm doing on my end. Anyone else able to get this to work?
So I broke down and experimented with the mirror mode today. That was awesome. What wasn't awesome is that the screen timesout and that's it for the audio. So if I want to listen to my music, do I have to set the screen timeout for never? Is there no specific HDMI mirror mode setting for this? I looked around and couldn't find one.
How can I adjust the resolution on my computer monitor when viewing videos from my Razr? The picture seems a little fuzzy. Do I adjust thru phone or monitor?
Just traded in my Bionic for a RAZR MAXX HD - I am trying to use HDMI mirror mode with the Motorola Smart Controller (RZ100) and BT keyboard to get me as close to a Lapdock as possible. I am on JB OTA, didn't have ICS to compare this bug to.
2 problems/bugs I have run into:
Playing video's thru any app I've tried (MX Player, Stock player, Netflix etc.) The video plays fine, sound good etc.........if I pause, stop, rewind, fast forward or exit Video app. The phone soft resets 90% of the time? After having the phone connected via HDMI cable, when I unplug the phone. I have no media sound coming from phone speakers until I reboot the phone, sound must still be trying to route thru HDMI port even though cable is not plugged in?
there is no notification that pops up showing it is in running in Mirror Mode. Should there be? Similar to how it works when placed in the car dock?
I'm at work posting on the bionic so making this short. I let my phone charge over night with oem wall charger i unplug it to go to the gym. Well i usually turn the lights on in my room. This morning i did not as i unplugged the bionic the backlight light up dimly. I let it sit i finally got tired of testing it the backlight stayed on indefinitely. I let it sit 5 min still on i have to push power button to wake and again to lock. So i was wondering if anyone noticed this it can drain battery i sometimes put phone in gym bag after charging without waking phone.
this is my third Bionic and when I have the charger plugged in the backlight doesn't automatically go off after the minute that I have it set at. The first two phones didn't do this.
I finished installing ICS 3 hours ago. The problem was that my battery died during the time it was updating media database. Now, the battery will not charge. It says at 5%. If I am using my phone at all (i.e. just making folders) it heats up and dies/turns off. I've tried 2 different batteries and 2 different chargers with the same results. Also- 3 hours later and I still have no contacts and many apps no longer work (google voice).
After about an hour of being on my phone thinks that the HDMI cable is connected. I don't have a cable, or
If I turn the phone off, the notification goes away for a bit, but still comes back after about an hour. I did try "Factory Data reset" under the privacy settings, but that did not make a difference.
have been trying to conncet Atrix using HDMI cable. I tried connceting it to the TV and also treid it with my dell laptop. But in both i didnt see the phone detecting the HDMI conncetion. What i understood from some of the discussions here is phone gives us two options fvrom which we can select HDMI project options so that we can play media in phone. But i dont understand why i am not geting those option when i connect HDMI cable.I started grtting a doubt that weather the Atrix peace that i have is faulty or HDMI cable may be faulty..Suggest me somethig so that i can able conncet my phone to HDMI .
I'm trying to setup the HDMI mirroring from my Photon, but can't get it to work. When I hook the hdmi cable to the phone, something happens because the Motorola logo shows up on the TV, but I don't get a prompt to select mirroring or video out. From what I've read, that's what I expected would happen.Any ideas what could be happening? Could this possibly be a defect in the phone? Some software setup issue? The only HDMI setting I can find is hte display area, and changing that doesn't affect this.
Motorola, as a user of the Atrix, the webock and the lapdock, I think it would also be very useful if you would look into enabling HDMI mirroring in an update.
I have the Atrix 2 and do not own the mini hdmi cord. I wanted to connect my phone via hdmi to my laptop to be able to watch video. I have only ever used my laptop as an output for HDMI and was wondering if it would accept my phone as an input. I'd just like to know before purchasing a cord that I won't use.
When I connect my Xoom to any port on my Samsung LCD, it syncs at 1280 x 720 only. There are no settings for the HDMI ports on the TV, they are all auto sensing. I am using a 9` HDMI cable. The picture looks fine, although I'm sure it could look better.
