For the first time, I took my Xoom outdoors to see if it could log on to my neighbor's WiFi. The display was so washed out in the sunshine as to be unreadable. It looks so great indoors that I was somewhat shocked.

It just showed up like that and it's always when I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) that this happends and then stays.Once I got rid of it by rebooting the phone almost 10 times or turning it of a whole day but as soon as I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) it comes back.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI ordered my Xoom from amazon.com, and exactly one day after their 30 day return period my tablet awakened showing only vertical lines. I am able to do a forced power-up (Volume up, power) but all you can see is the tablet going through the appropriately-colored start sequence, complete with the pulsating blue and purple honeycomb sequence - but with only somewhat compressed vertical lines. You can't really see where anything is on the screen, which has made it impossible to really acheive a factory reset start sequence. I've tried searching for this problem and haven't found it anywhere. I was wondering if anyone else had seen this.
Motorola suggested checking with place of purchase for return/exchange policy and/or returning the tablet to them. Mainly I'm curious if any others have experienced this and to let anyone who is know that they aren't the only one.
I love my Xoom, and after only 36hrs without it I am already missing it. Not looking forward to another couple of weeks.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced 5-10 thin blue lines/streaks in their display (red on a black background). I first noticed the issue when using my Kindle app a few months ago. Eventually they disappeared but now they've returned. It has been several days and like last time, don't go away with a device reboot or reset.

They show up fine in outlook and webmail, but on the Xoom they show up with tiny placeholders (boxes with green question marksressing on "show pictures" does not help. Emails with regular attacements can be viewed by clicking on attachements, and advertising pics are shown after clicking "show pictures" Only embedded or inserted pictures are not displayedI have seen posts about this on the android forum, but could not find any answers.Hopefully there is a solution, especially since the Xoom has the latest
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a XOOM WiFi I bought from Staples on launch day. A couple of days ago the screen started turning blue. If the device sits unused (such as overnight) the next morning it is fine for about a minute or two. Then it turns blue again. The blue corruption moves. If I try to scroll up on a list that is already scrolled as far as it can go a blue "halo" appears at the bottom of the screen for as long as I hold my finger on the screen. It disappears after a few seconds. I've already tried a soft reset. I haven't tried a factory wipe yet as I was hoping to avoid that.

It is using the 3.2 system and immediately when I turned it on I noticed that the boot up screen (blue honeycomb screen) was very blurry. Once it booted up I went on the browser and noticed that some of the ad boxes on the browser, dolphin and default were fuzzy and grainy. I also noticed that videos that opened and played from web pages were a little blurry. This is not the case with my friends aseus. We did a side by side. Is this normal for the xoom? Especially the blurry boot up screen?

However the "navigation bar" at the bottom of the Xoom screen is not displayed on the tv. It would be handy to have this as part of the hdmi output so that I could navigate from across the room with my bluetooth mouse.

We use O2's hosted service via Exchange OWA. The email signature's all appear fine but the main body of the emails show as above.
Is it normal for the mail app on W10 to render emails so poorly?Unless its a text email, the rendering on my phone is pretty much unreadable - incorrect fonts, text sizing, images misaligned etc looks like a 3 year old has tried to write css!

On the motoactv web app Under Display Preferences/Data Format, there is only dd/MM/yyyy and MM/dd/yyyy. Please provide the more sane unabiguous yyyy/mm/dd format so this can be consistent.) Display Units My Display Units are set to Metric. However on the MotoACTV web app when I select Workouts/Latest Workout/Workout Stats, the distance and pacing are recorded in km, but the elevation shows in ft. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my iPhone to 5.1,when i hold the camera close to some text it is blurry and unreadable, and when i tap to focus the only thing the phone does is lighten or darken the screen depending where i tap. the front camera works fine if i hold it close to text and take the photo but that is pain. anyone know how to fix this? i can hold my wifes 3gs the same way and the text is readable.I have tried restoring as new and back up with no luck, and i have tried other camera apps and it is the same result.

I mean, I know this isn't an amoled and has a reputation for being less vibrant than other phones. But I just notice the home screen and icons always look much more washed out than actual content on the phone which looks great.

I noticed on Saturday that after recording and playing back a test video I shot, the colors looked very washed out compared to how the viewfinder looked during recording.
Today, I was streaming youtube, and also noticed a similar trend. The colors looked very washed out and lacked contrast. It almost feels like there's a film overlaying the video. This is ONLY during video playback. Whenever I just scroll through apps, or view pictures the screen looks great. [URL] .....
Above is an album with pictures I took of my Note 4's and 6P's screen when viewing the same content. I tried to match the brightness as best as possible. Also, resolution was the same for videos on both screens. The first picture is the most apparent. I was watching John Oliver's latest episode and the top is the 6P where it looks completely washed out. The second picture is showing that when just viewing the homescreen, they look very similar and the colors pop on the 6P just like on the Note 4.
If this is just how the 6P plays videos, then I will deal with it. But if this is not normal I will try to RMA as videos really don't look that great. Colors look great when viewing anything but videos. When viewing videos colors look very washed out. Album compares 6P and Note 4.
So I had music on my xoom but accidently deleted it. I tried going in my computer files to copy and paste songs from my itunes into my folder on xoom called music but says wrong format. I don't know what to do.

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
View 2 Replies View Related- I've already tried the suggested fixes that I could find on the forums of changing the unlocking animation and whatnot but the problem persists no matter what when reverting back to a password/pattern lock/fingerprint lockscreen.
- This is not a brightness issue.
When using any lockscreen other than swipe to unlock, my lockscreen seems to have a grey filter overlayed on top of it. It's super noticeable when using a black wallpaper. The AMOLED display should not be visible in the dark (as if it's off) but the screen is noticeably lit as if it were an LCD display. When using images as my lockscreen wallpaper they are not as vivid as when viewing the image in the gallery or even as my wallpaper on the homescreen.
The problem has gone on and off when dealing with the night clock with updates. sometimes the 'black' screen will be lit up and defeat the purpose of the nightclock and kill the battery, and sometimes the screen is pitch black and just the time is displayed dimly as it should be. Wondering if i should take it into the sprint store to see if a replacement would remedy this.
