Apr 30, 2012I bought an iphone 4s (the black one), and I noticed that my screen is a little yellow. I compared the iphone with friend's white iphone 4s and my screen looks washed out and yellow, and his screen looks more bluer and clean.

Feb 27, 2015Home screen always looks washed out but yet, apps, videos, pics, etc. all look fine? In fact the skin tones etc. in vids and pics are much more realistic than most phones.
I mean, I know this isn't an amoled and has a reputation for being less vibrant than other phones. But I just notice the home screen and icons always look much more washed out than actual content on the phone which looks great.

Sep 22, 2015- I've already tried the suggested fixes that I could find on the forums of changing the unlocking animation and whatnot but the problem persists no matter what when reverting back to a password/pattern lock/fingerprint lockscreen.
- This is not a brightness issue.
When using any lockscreen other than swipe to unlock, my lockscreen seems to have a grey filter overlayed on top of it. It's super noticeable when using a black wallpaper. The AMOLED display should not be visible in the dark (as if it's off) but the screen is noticeably lit as if it were an LCD display. When using images as my lockscreen wallpaper they are not as vivid as when viewing the image in the gallery or even as my wallpaper on the homescreen.
The problem has gone on and off when dealing with the night clock with updates. sometimes the 'black' screen will be lit up and defeat the purpose of the nightclock and kill the battery, and sometimes the screen is pitch black and just the time is displayed dimly as it should be. Wondering if i should take it into the sprint store to see if a replacement would remedy this.

However, the reception is much worse compared to iPhone 3GS and 3G in the same place with same SIM-cards on two different carriers. iPhone 4 bars are always 3-5 smaller. Also, very often it is impossible to get service.I don't think this has anything to do with this widely known problem of touching iPhone since the problem is there even when I don't touch the iPhone. I have tried to restore the software and reset settings. Is there anything I could still try? Is it time to call Apple?

Jun 27, 2010I think the iPhone 4's screen has totally ruined my eyes for anything else. My 1900x1200 24" monitor that before I thought was pretty good now has blurry text and aliasing everywhere (relatively speaking), similar to how my 3GS' screen now looks downright ugly compared to the Retina Display.
Anyone else experiencing this after spending time with their iPhone 4? Anything we can do except wait and hope for resolution independence and higher ppi screens to hopefully come out?

Nov 3, 2015Before I start, I just want to say that I'm not using the sRGB mode. I'm using the regular more saturated settings. I noticed on Saturday that after recording and playing back a test video I shot, the colors looked very washed out compared to how the viewfinder looked during recording.
Today, I was streaming youtube, and also noticed a similar trend. The colors looked very washed out and lacked contrast. It almost feels like there's a film overlaying the video. This is ONLY during video playback. Whenever I just scroll through apps, or view pictures the screen looks great. [URL] .....
Above is an album with pictures I took of my Note 4's and 6P's screen when viewing the same content. I tried to match the brightness as best as possible. Also, resolution was the same for videos on both screens. The first picture is the most apparent. I was watching John Oliver's latest episode and the top is the 6P where it looks completely washed out. The second picture is showing that when just viewing the homescreen, they look very similar and the colors pop on the 6P just like on the Note 4.
If this is just how the 6P plays videos, then I will deal with it. But if this is not normal I will try to RMA as videos really don't look that great. Colors look great when viewing anything but videos. When viewing videos colors look very washed out. Album compares 6P and Note 4.

Jan 15, 2010After upgrading to v40, I've compared the new homescreen to the old homescreen and to the old homescreen with v21-31, these are my findings.
- The old homescreen on v40 does not have the email notification that Nokia introduced a short while ago and which was obviously VERY well recieved globally.
- The new homescreen on v40 has kinetic scrolling contacts which is, um, cute. It has the ability to control the music player (What I found to be very buggy, crashing it by simply pressing 'forward' when it's playing a folder with 1 song).
- The new homescreen on v40 does not have calendar and tasks, probably for the space the new music player-thing takes. This was my FAVORITE thing on the homescreen and I am sure I'm not alone.
I truly hope Nokia addresses these issues by either returning the email notifications to the old homescreen or somehow allowing to see the calendar and tasks on the new homescreen. Or both.
