Motorola Photon 4G :: Bluetooth Connection To Laptop
Nov 30, 2011
I just tried connecting my phone to my laptop using Bluetooth. The computer sees the phone and shows it in the devices list (Windows 7), but to phone says it's not connected. Is there some driver I need to load?Tried Googling for one, but didn't see anything obvious.
While music is streaming from the photon to my car I place a call. When the phone starts dialing I have to physically press bluetooth on the dialer for it to connect to my car's hands free link(even though I am already connected by streaming music). I get connected then end the call. The car radio then switches back to Bluetooth audio but no sound, the volume is not on mute on either the phone or car after a minute it just starts playing music again.I tried turning the phone on and off and then reconnecting it to the car, I also deleted all the previous phone and Bluetooth info from my car but no improvement. I never had this issue with other phones connected to my car. If it helps it is a Acura.
Both laptop and phone see one another but the laptop gives me error message that driver cannot be installed. First query: Can this android phone interface with Win 7 OS via bluetooth? Would a LAN connection be more optimal. If so, can I connect phone to my home LAN?
Laptop: Acer Aspire 5002WLMi, Windows XP SP2 Smartphone: Blackberry Bold 9700 Network Device: Bluetooth, Wifi (ad-hoc not available for bold 9700?)
I am using my laptop for traveling and I use USB CDMA modem connection to connect to the internet. Recently my wife bought a Blackberry bold 9700 hoping that she could access internet without carrying her laptop while traveling with me, sharing the same connection from my laptop. I have been trying to use WiFi to connect my bold 9700 with my laptop using ad-hoc but it seems that bold 9700 does not support ad-hoc. Therefore I am trying another way to connect to the internet from my BB using my Bluetooth. I have linked my blackberry device through bluetooth and my laptop is currently connected to the internet.
I have been trying to use my wife's BB to connect to the internet using my laptop's bluetooth connection. But I could not get it to work. Before posting here, I have been searching everywhere on the web for a guide but I could not seems to find one. Could anyone guide me on how to share my laptop internet connection so that my BB could access the web using the same connection as my laptop? If bluetooth and WiFi doesn't work is there any other way? Using USB perhaps? In short: Laptop internet Connection > Share using ? and how? > BB's can browse the web without additional data plan.
Since my PHOTON wouldn't charge when I plugged it into my HP (Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit) with the cable that came with it, I've installed the Motorola USB Drivers on my HP laptop and selected "Charge Only" as the USB connection option. The PHOTON still does not charge. When I connect to a different laptop, it does charge without downloading any drivers.
I think the problem is the PHOTON requires more than 500mA, but the HP laptop is not letting more power to the USB ports. I've tried all 3 USB ports with no success.
how to remove the power limitations on the USB ports on an HP?
When my MoPho is plugged into my Mac (OS X v10.6.8) I no longer get the auto-mounting of the internal and SD card volumes, and I don't see the "USB connection" notification on the phone's status bar. I can connect using Moto Phone Portal over WiFi to Firefox 6.0.2 on the Mac, but picture downloads run at 175 BYTES PER SECOND, not the speed I'd expect when the WiFi antenna is 10 feet away.
I keep having a problem with connecting to Sprint's network. It takes up to five minutes after powering the phone on for the bars to turn blue, and starting today, they just stay gray and I am unable to connect to the internet. Whenever I'm in a non-sprint zone and switch to global mode, the phone won't pick up a new network, even after I reboot the phone multiple times. I'm getting rather frustrated with this phone, as this happens frequently.
I am having problems with random connection failed on my exchange account. I first noticed this this past weekend. It keep retrying to connect and ended up draining the battery within a few hours. This has happedened on WIFI and 4G. I noticed that when I turned on 4G I got the connection failed until I turned it off. I have reboot, powered down and removed the battery. It willl work for awhile and than stop and sometimes recover if I open the email app. I'm on 45.3.6.
USB Computer Connection is always stuck on "Charge Only" no matter what option you choose? I am able to choose the other 3 options (with the blue checkmark toggling in the checkboxes), but nothing happens. When I exit and pull down the connection from the notifications list it just reverts back to "Charge Only" no matter what I try.
I've searched around and still can't find an answer to this specific problem... but I have a feeling it might have to do with that November Update. Today was the first time I tried to connect my phone as "Mass Storage" to transfer music files since before the update. It worked completely fine before the update... anyone know how to resolve this?
I'm using the official Motorola micro USB cable that came with the phone, have tried unmounting the SD card, resetting/powering off the phone, tried every single USB port on my computer and laptop (both Windows7). I'm very confused why I suddenly can't enter "Mass Storage" mode anymore...
I have a trouble. After connection to TV and disconnection via hdmi cable the screen of photon is never turned off, only manual or after rebooting. Stock ROM 198_7, root, motorola's hdmi cable, TV panel.
My phone restarts on its own a couple times per day
and
the bluetooth will not connect with my 2010 Escalade or my 2008 E Class MBZ. It connects to my old earpiece but not the cars. No previous problems connecting with my BB or Samsung phones.
Every time I try to, it cycles through, and does nothing. I've tried to turn it on via the Motorola widget button, and also through the settings menu, both to no avail.
Last night when I turned on my wifi at home, the wifi and phone signal bars appeared but were gray and I had no internet/data connection. I checked the wifi settings which indicated I was connected with good to excellent signal. Toggled the Wifi on and off several times, and turned phone on and off, which did not work. Went into wifi settings and told it to forget settings and reconnected, same result. When I turn off wifi, 3G appears and data connection is restored. Left the phone on in the media dock all night, and this morning when I turned on wifi, all was fine. What does gray signal bar mean?
I cant get any email or text notifications to come thru my bt. i have tried every setting within the phone.and have tried several bt headsets ( Playtronics HD Pro& moto h790 ) with no luck. my 3yr old windows phone would play my custom tones and ringers thru my bt( moto h790).including my text and email ringers.never had to look at my phone to see who was calling.
Any bluetooth headset I pair with my photon is too loud. Yes, I turned the volume down on headset and phone. I know its the phone cause I have paired the headset(s) w/ other devices, and the volume will go down all the way. Tried an app (Volume Ace Free) and it did nothing. Bottom line is when media volume is set to minimum its still WAY too loud. This is not an issue w/ wired headphones.
Hey everybody. I recently got my photon 4g, and when I went to pair it with my car, I noticed I'm unable to access the phonebook from the car. With my Evo 4g I was able to view call lists and the phone book itself with no problem. When I paired the photon, it successfully paired, then the photon prompted me that the vehicle was requesting access to the phone book access profile. I clicked "always allow" (or always accept, I can't recall at this moment) and let it be.
But anytime I went into the phone via the radio, there are no phone book entries, just the option to enter numbers manually.it's a 2012 chevy with Onstar, so I'm using the bluetooth functions of that radio. Calls still work, but since it isn't reading the phone book, it just gives me a number when someone calls, as opposed to the name. For the time being I'm back to using my evo, since I can't recall everyones phone number off the top of my head. I'd love to figure out whats wrong, since I adore the photon, but need the names (so I don't answer the wrong calls lol)
I tried deleting & re-pairing, I've tried copying my contacts to the SIM in case thats where it was trying to read from, all to no avail, then doing the pair process again, still no luck.
When the Photon's bluetooth is turned on, I cannot listen to voice mail messages either through the car's audio system (2011 Hyundai Tucson) or the phone itself. When the bluetooth is off, I can hear the voice mail messages fine on the phone. Is there a setting I can change to hear the voice mail messages in the car?
I've had a S10-HD headset for about a year and it has worked well with several phones and my laptop. However, it will not connect to my new Photon 4G.I've made sure every other device to which it was ever connected has bluetooth turned off I've made sure the battery on both devides are fully charged I've made sure the Photon's bluetooth is on working I've connected the Photo to my car's bluetooth system to make sure it can connect to something I've connected my headset with my laptop to make sure it can connect to something I've turned them both on and off both devices I've searched and searched everywhere. When I go to bluetooth settings on the Photon and press "scan for devices", the headset never shows up as an available device When I power on the headset it flashes blue for a second and then slowly flashes red, but is never available to connect to the phone?
When entering the six digits pass code displayed by SYNC, the keyboard on the phone suddenly quits after I enter only 2 to 5 digits. The phone displays a message that there was a problem with pairing this phone. Is some setting on the phone wrong or is the phone hardware having a problem.
I just got new hearing aids that are bluetooth capable everything works fine with streming music playing games and making calls the problem starts when i recieve calls i hear the phone ring and can answer but no sound after i answer the call?
I noticed this recently: I have bluetooth enabled, but not connected to any devices. I initiate a phone call, and once on the call, I try to switch to an already paired but not connected bluetooth device. As soon as I select the device in the bluetooth settings screen, the phone reboots itself. Reproducible 100% of the time. Anyway else notice this? The work around is to start with the bluetooth device already connected before the call. I am paired with a Logitech H800.
When I use the controls on my Motorola S305 Bluetooth headphones and Spotify such as play, pause, next song, etc. It automatically opens up the stock music app and starts playing those songs and Spotify stops playing. Is there any way to control which application the AVRCP bluetooth profile controls? I didn't have this problem on my Nexus One.
I have an issue with the Photon when it is in the car dock and I am listening to streaming audio such as Slacker or Pandora. If I use my Bluetooth headset and press the button on the headset for the voice commands, the Photon sends a very garbled voice control prompt to the headset. The prompt that says "Please wait. Please say a command" comes across extremely garbled. This does not occur if I am not streaming audio, nor does it occur over the regular phone speaker.
My device is unable to detect any of the Bluetooth Headset. I have tried same with Nokia and Amkette bluetooth. Scanning does not list any of these bluetooth headeset.
My Photon must be having Apple envy and has decided to refuse to cooperate. Unlocking can still be an occasional two minute ordeal with many whispered metaphorical condemnations of it's heritage and habits. However, my main complaint is the bluetooth audio stutter I hear on a stereo headset.
I have no problems pairing and listinening to audio on a set of bluetooth stereo headphones via my MacBookPro (or my friend's iPhone), but the Photon makes me want to kick something very hard and repeatedly. The audio stutter-pop every 1/3 second (approximatly) is beyond frustrating.
The only thing that reduces the stuttering is if I hold the phone within 3 inches (yes, 3"!) of the headset. Oddly, my mono canal-style headset has a range of about 36 feet. Both of the headsets are less than two months old, and I know that the stereo headset is up to version 3.x of the bluetooth spec. (the Photon is using bluetooth v. 2.1).
My Macbook pro can send pictures to my RAZR but the phone cannot make a connection to the Macbook. each device 'knows' the other is there as the confirmation and handshake was successful. What I can do to get the bluetooth to work from the phone to the computer?
My razr connects to my car but will not download the phone book to the car. I have a original motorola droid and a htc thunderbolt and the worked fine.
I have tried at least 5 different bluetooth and they all keep disconnecting, even when I bought a higher end bluetooth. I sent it back for repairs at least 2 times and now it will be going back again today for the same problems plus a new one ...it won't charge up. Having this phone is very bad for my business. Why can't someone repair my phone instead of sending me someone elses troubled phone.
I found out by accident that I could connect my Xoom to my Droid x2 by Bluetooth and get my wifi only Xoom on the I internet. The only problem is that it is not consistent. Drops connections then hard to reconnect. Have to power down to get it reconneced.
My Xoom has Android 3.1 and my Nokia N8-00 has Symbian. Are these OSes compatible? I can establish a connection from N8 to Xoom but when it comes to a real file transfer from N8 to Xoom I get an N8 message saying that transfer is not possible. Paircoupling from Xoom to N8 is not possible. observe that the two units are seen/recognized both on Xoom and N8./dan
