Motorola Photon 4G :: Photon Freezes With Alarm?

I have a Photon that is at best qurky. I did a full factory reset about a month ago. the last couple of days the phone has been freezing with the alarm. the alarm will go off and I might get one or two snoozes out of it then the display freezes and is unresponsive. O can push the power button to get the power off menu but the screen will not respond to allow a power off, I must remove the battery to reset the phone.and as anyone who has a Photon knows how much fun putting the back on is. Any ideas.again this is a pretty fresh reboot and I do not have near as many apps running as before the reboot

i just recently got my phone about a week ago and now it freezes continuously and have multiple errors (messaging, camera, contacts, applications, etc.) every time i try to load a launcher it freezes including the motoblur launcher. would the weather temperature have an affect on this or is the phone defective?

My 2 month old phone, started to freeze two weeks after I got it. Sprint is aware. Now my phone shuts off. Before I could take out battery, now Its just 100% stuck on Motorola screen. Its been charging, Ive tried everything! Its going on day two.... my Droid HTC started this way. Service fixed it, for a bit then back to same problems. I upgraded to this phone, Sprint said since its past my 30 days, more $ out of my pocket. for just a refurbished one. I just want to turn it on and have my touch screen work and receive what Im paying for. I need my phone at all times for my child!

Everytime I use my Amazon Cloud Player on my Photon, the phone freezes up completely after playing a few (~3 ish) songs. The only way to get functionality back is to take the battery out.

Everytime I open my contacts my phone freezes and prompts me to force close or wait. When I try to set up a group the point where you add contacts the screen is black and when you press the option button on the phone sends me to the keyboard but doesnt do anything and lags.

using Photon 4G with Airtel prepaid sim with system version 45.3.6.MB855.Sprint.en, Whenever I run short codes (USSD codes) like *123# to check my prepaid GSM balance or interact with service provider by *121# it takes long time showing USSD code running.. and after few mins either shows MMI successfully complete or MMI failed but doesnt actually show the text which is shown in my other GSM phones; to query balance or activate some service. Tried forums but no concrete solution.

Any use the Motorola Date and Time Widget? Mine seems to hang at night (seemingly about 20min after I plug it in for charging) and stays on yesterdays date and time until somehow it corrects itself the next day. There is no way to "activate it" or make it correct itself. All other clocks and calendars are correct.

I have a Sprint Motorola Photon 4G and I am using it in Brazil with a Claro SIM Card. The phone reboots itself sometimes when I try to make or receive a phone call (2 or 3 times a day). I know this is happening to other Photon owners and I already tried the factory reset twice. My build # is 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6. Does anyone know a fix for that?

i bought a photon at best buy today, carried it around for a while, installed the netflix app, brought it home, plugged it in, and after i tell it to install the system update, it downloads, i click install, and it shuts down immediately, starts itself back up, and then as soon as everything comes back up, i get a message that says update has failed. this has happened 3 times now, downloaded on wi-fi

I have a major issue with my corporate exchange calendar. If I accept an invitation to a meeting, the phone makes me the organizer of the meeting. This syncs back to my corporate calendar. This is obviously completely wrong. If I delete the meeting on my phone, or on my computer, it sends out a message to everyone that was on the meeting saying that it was cancelled. If I need to adjust the meeting only on my calendar, it sends out an update to everyone. It has caused a lot of confusion for me and my work colleagues.

Has anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

I noticed that whenever I am making/receiving calls, the screen flashes every few seconds. I wonder why it is doing that. I have never seen this on any other phone before. At first I thought it was related only to the silent call issue that the screen flashes every few seconds but even when I am able to make a regular call it still does this.

I have just moved from a windows phone and got this photon phone. I listen to music from the web, like 181.fm/mobile. These stations require a windows media player to work. The windows media player is not on my photon phone or in the android market place.

So now I still cannot use MMS or carrier internet and the latest software update will not run, it can be downloaded but after running it 12 times it indicates update was unsuccessful. Is there anyway of reflashing the whole phone to start from scratch.

Anyone used or using Drive First?I installed it, was using it, but just too much for me, I already use a car dock, motospeak and bluetooth.(Yes, trying to be safe).It just does not intrgrate well with Google Voice.Anyway, it seemed to install an app when I signed up for it, the app is called Smart Device Manager.After cancelling Drive First it continues to lock my screen when the car moves.I figured out which app is is, but the only available option is "uninstall updates" and it keeps wanting to re-update the app after I uninstalled updates. I have uninstalled updates and reinstalled a few times, but it seems that app is dug in there, and won't leave.Because Sprint customer service has NO CLUE (after 4 reps) how the app works, or how to get rid of it?

My 4g goes in and out on my Photon. I just "upgraded" from the Evo 4g a few weeks ago, so I know its not my network. Anyone have any suggestions. I'm thinking about taking it back. I use it as a hotspot for my ipad, and now that sucks now too!!

I am able to use PPTP VPN over 4G without problems. However if I disconnect. Then turn off 4G. Wait a minute or two or even overnight. Then try to connect the PPTP VPN over 3G it fails. So, does PPTP VPN work over Sprint 3G?Initial research: I have read on some old posts that VPN over Sprint 3G is not supported from smart phones, only wireless modems. Some of the VPN problems were also caused by earlier versions of the android linux. Is it possible to use VPN over Sprint 3G from a Photon? If not does PPTP VPN work on other Sprint phones?

I am going to buy the unlocked Photon 4G to be used outside US, but a lot of reviews tell that some OTA updates came out recently which fixed minor issues added some functionalities, the question is "Can the unlocked Photon 4G be updated outside US?"Will i be able to update my Photon here in Asia?

When I take my phone out of the car dock, the car app won't close.
I couldn't find a car app in the app manager, so I tried to manually close anything that might be the car app. Still no good. home button on the phone automatically goes the car app when the app is active.

I have had a Motorola Photon for a few months now and I love it........until now.I plugged my phone in last night before I went to bed and the screen turned on, which told me the phone was charging. I woke up this morning and found that my phone was at 20% battery life and hadn't charged all night. I walked downstairs and tested the phone on another wall charger I have and it did not work either. I then plugged it into my computer and viola, my phone starts charging. On the way to work, I plugged the phone into my car charger and the phone would still not receive a charge but the screen would turn on. I got to work, where I just happen to sell phones, and tested a different Photon battery from a demo phone to see if that was the issue. To no avail, my phone still didn't charge. When I plug my phone in with an A/C charger, the screen turns on but the phone does not accept a chargeWhen I plug the phone into a USB cable connected to my Macbook Pro, the phone charges with no problems.

Any ideas why my phone would stop ringing when calls come in? And yes... it is not on silent. Even when I go to the ring tones and try to change to another, standard ring tone, it won't play the sound. It will make a noise when I turn the volume up and down. I turned it off and back on and it will now ring. Worried that this is going to be a routine problem. I have noticed that I've had some missed calls that I thought were odd because the phone was nearby, but didn't think much of it before. Today I was expecting a call at 1:30 so I had the phone sitting right next to my keyboard at work with the volume on. I looked down and there was my missed call. I then started calling it from my desk phone and it did not ring. When it was in silent mode it vibrated like it should so I turn the phone to always vibrate to make sure I didn't miss the call when it came in again.

Is there a link to signup specifically for the MFN? I reset my password for the owners forum and registered my phone as part of that process, but when I click on any of the links from the e-mail about MFN it takes me to a login/signup page with no login field that shows I'm logged in at the top of the page, [URL] that doesn't seem to have anything to do with MFN.

Tried to update yesterday, downloaded and tried to install. Phone reboots and I get an android guy with an exclamation mark. When phone restarts, a notification pops up saying the update was not installed.

know if the phone will retain the connection settings when changed from default to say, GSM only even with a restart? My previous phone also was a world phone. But whenever I restart the phone, it will always default to CDMA international mode. Wanted to confirm if Photon can retain the settings with a restart before buying one.

I have had an issue recently where the 4G on my Photon just turns off. Not just disconnecting, but turning off. I am in an area with 4G and I use it often. Has anyone seen this happen? Is there a way to "reset" the 4G settings? I am not rooted stock Version 45.3.6?

never really noticed this as a problem until this past week. When I purchased the phone, I imported my contact list, and that worked out perfectly. Since that time I have not really had the need to save many numbers, but the ones I HAVE saved, I cannot find in my contact list at all...., when I dial their number, the name I typed comes up and they show up in the recent calls list. For example.. I saved the woman who cuts my hair as "Hair Kelly" I can't find it in my contact list, but when I dial her number, it shows up as "Hair Kelly"
