In process of downloading new updates to Torch 9800 it stopped with instructions to:unplug device,go to Control Panel .... Device Manager/USB Root Hub/allow computer to turn off device ...plug in device...It then repats the same process again and again with same instructions. My friend is in pieces, she has tried to update to 5.1.1. She wanted to sync beforehand to itunes but it told her to update to 5.1.1 so she did and now the phone is frozen. It's telling her to restore her phone. If I tell her to do a hard reset (home+sleep button) will she lose her data that's on her phone right now?
Today, I signed up for Blackberry Email Service with T-Mobile. I got a message that an update was available, so I downloaded and installed it. However, when the Blackberry rebooted after the installation, (which seemed to take much longer than normal), the screen reads "Blackberry Platform 6.6.0.195" followed by a listing of all of the programs and apps on the Blackberry. There's also an error message that reads, "Uncaught Exception: java.lang.Null Pointer Exception". When I click "OK" there is another message reading, "Uncaught Exception:ApplicationRegistry.wait For(0xbfca09409ffe99e5) timeout. Then I get another reading, "Uncaught Exception:java.lang.Error" Every application on the list seems to have an error, and nothing will open. But I can't even shut the phone off. I have tried all of the four different reboot methods, but nothing seems to work.
I am wondering if I were to sync the Blackberry with the Blackberry Desktop Manager on my lpatop if it would reset the OS to the way it was before the update.
My Curve keeps freezing while updating at about 60%, with the black screen and BB logo and white bar. I've tried battery popping and letting the battery die, but it keeps getting to 60% and then freezing?

I was trying to update software for my iPhone 5 from 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 but it froze on the apple logo and loading bar. I haven't backed up anything on my iPhone so would I loose all my contacts, photos and other important data? I can not restore my iPhone 5 unless there is a way to back it up. I don't know what to do.

The phone is NOT charging. I can't turn the phone off.

I have read some of the other similar problems and my phone has no case or cover on it. On top of it all, it is stuck in SOS mode so I don't even have a signal so I can't even receive phone calls.
My phone has been frozen all day. The past couple of days it's been really slow, then today it just completely froze. I've tried battery pulling about 6 times.. same results. I don't know what to do. It won't connect to the desktop manager
