My Curve keeps freezing while updating at about 60%, with the black screen and BB logo and white bar. I've tried battery popping and letting the battery die, but it keeps getting to 60% and then freezing?
View 1 RepliesI'm having a bit of a problem updating to the latest version of firmware for my 8520. Currently I've got v4.6.1.314 but Vodafone have released v5.0.0.1168 so I'd like to upgrade to that.
I've already downloaded and installed the firmware on my computer but when I try to use the App loader to install it on my blackberry it tells me v4.6 is the most recent available.
Any ideas why v5 won't show up when I try to install it?
It has been freezing up the last couple of days. I downloaded I took this on my phone app from bb apps and since then its completely frozen, cant switch on or off and just have a message that the phone cannot access data. I have tried taking battery out and leaving for over 10 mins, cant do a soft or hard reset as need to get into the phone and cant.

It required me to reboot the blackberry so I did and now that it has loaded up I get a message saying 'To start using your Blackberry (R) smartphone, you will need to confirm the languages that you use.' and a highlighted button saying 'Continue'. Thing is, I can't press any buttons or scroll through writing or anything. No buttons, though I can use 'alt' and 'caps. There doesn't seem to be a signal either. I take the battery out and put it back in but when the Blackberry loads up again the same screen comes up. I know it has updated because the loading screen is different.

I turned it off and on again, but it would only fill up three quarters of the bar on the loading up screen. I then took the battery out left it for a while put it back in, and it has done exactly the same thing. What I can do to get my blackberry working again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry 8520 has been working for a long time now and I have downloaded an app called kik. Ever since I downloaded it my phone is not working. My signal is still coming through but I cannot receive anything. I press any button and still nothing works, it just comes up with the front page! I've been told to do a reset without taking my battery out and I've tried doing that and taking the battery out and nothing has happened. I've even tried looking for a reset button as I've been told there is one but I cannot even find that!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded my lookout virus scanner.Worked great.Did an upgrade from BBapp world and after reboot it starts and the application permission pops up and everything is frozen. My animated screensaver is moving in the background and if I press the alt or caps key the symbol comes on and off but nothing moves and I cant do anything. The phone signal never turns on and the time freezes to when it first starts. I have pulled the battery atleast 20 times and have done the alt caps del reset a bunch too. I email the company of the program and filed a help request but it being the weekend I think Im screwed with them. Can anyone help me out how to get around this I just wanna get my phone back this has been all afternoon.

Was working perfectly before with no problems. I have taken battery/sim card out but still nothing. I have also tried to use my blackberry desktop but it is still trying to connect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm from South Africa and have a Blackberry 8520, carrier/network provider is Vodacom. Up until last week I've had absolutely no problems with the device. I updated my BBM to 6.0.0.129 (if I'm correct) when the update became available on App World and all was great, no problems at all in my 9 months or so of owning the device to be honest. However I soon realized that my statuses were not updating when I was with a few of my friends. I then pulled the battery, and nothing, went a step further and pulled the bat, SIM and memory card, left it for about 5 minutes (usually worked when the networks or the devices I've owned used to give problems) and still nothing, but I found that when I connected to my wifi at home it updated my statues. Though it soon became few and far between and altogether stopped updating even when I was connected to the wifi. A lot of my friends have had problems with their BB's going mad, losing contacts and BBM, devices needing to be replaced etc etc, but I finally built up the courage to try a few new things after a few days of the annoying problem (seeing that my ideas always seemed to work on previous devices I've owned, not strictly Blackberry though, this is my 1st Blackberry). I found the link to BBM5 (via the Blackberry site) on the net, downloaded it and decided to go back to App World and get BBM 6 thinking it might work. WRONG! App World showed that I still had BBM 6, though it showed as uninstalled, and I couldn't get a download option, unfortunately you can't downgrade BBM using App World (why????). So today I hooked up the phone to my PC, using the desktop software I removed App World and finished the process, when my phone finally rebooted I found that my BBM was gone too. So I followed the link through the App World icon and got App World back, after which I found App World was picking up BBM (V6) as installed anyway, even though BBM was gone from my phone. Following the "Update BBM" link that was now on my phone, I got back my BBM (nice intro interface by the way, set display name, restore contact list etc etc, looked good) and restored the conact list, and STILL MY STATUES REFUSES TO UPDATE!! Messages are going through and my display pics show up, however I also found that not all of my contacts pics are showing up at the moment (I did all the PC work and downloading like 40-50 minutes ago), maybe they need to update it or I need to reboot again so that it sync's, but most importantly my statues still don't update, it shows up on my side, the statues messages and busy/available icons show up on my phone, but not to any of my contacts. I'm unsure if my BBM is even linked to my App World anymore, and I refuse to try anymore stunts incase I lose my BBM contacts or BBM and App World completely. I have around 65 contacts, so it can't be the "100+ contacts" stuff I've read up about on the multitude of smartphone/Blackberry forums I've ravaged, even less so 'cause I have BBM6, not 5.

When I go to appworld on my phone and try to run the upgrade, it says "facebook is not available for download from Blackberry App world"....Then I tried to upload it on my PC and I go to the appworld page and it asks me to connect it to my payoal account. I go through the steps and get the confirmaiton from paypal, but then go back to appwork and get the folowing "The PayPal email address you provided is not correct. Please log in with the email address(it lists my e-mail address)"......

It's telling her to restore her phone. If I tell her to do a hard reset (home+sleep button) will she lose her data that's on her phone right now?
View 14 Replies View RelatedToday, I signed up for Blackberry Email Service with T-Mobile. I got a message that an update was available, so I downloaded and installed it. However, when the Blackberry rebooted after the installation, (which seemed to take much longer than normal), the screen reads "Blackberry Platform 6.6.0.195" followed by a listing of all of the programs and apps on the Blackberry. There's also an error message that reads, "Uncaught Exception: java.lang.Null Pointer Exception". When I click "OK" there is another message reading, "Uncaught Exception:ApplicationRegistry.wait For(0xbfca09409ffe99e5) timeout. Then I get another reading, "Uncaught Exception:java.lang.Error" Every application on the list seems to have an error, and nothing will open. But I can't even shut the phone off. I have tried all of the four different reboot methods, but nothing seems to work.
I am wondering if I were to sync the Blackberry with the Blackberry Desktop Manager on my lpatop if it would reset the OS to the way it was before the update.

I just tried to update my phone to 7.2.1 and it frozen half way through.Â
I have tried to push the lock screen button and the Home button but nothing is happen.
My S6 is rooted. So I was going through a root app called lucky patcher and accidentally deleted the file com.google.processes.gapps. I couldn't fix it so I just assumed I would factory reset. Now the phones is stuck on the first updating page. I tried to factory reset again but still dose the same thing wen it reaches the page again.

Device Manager/USB Root Hub/allow computer to turn off device ...plug in device...It then repats the same process again and again with same instructions. I'm having an issue with my HTC One. I received notification of an update which I downloaded. The phone switched off and I then restarted it. The white start up screen showed, followed by a progress bar of a download, but now my phone is stuck on a black screen with two green arrows forming a circle with another one in the middle pointing down at a mobile phone. I currently have the curve 8520.I was using my fully functional bb which is 100% in good condition and suddenly the trackpad stopped working. i could only use the blackberry button, the back button, the call and hang up buttons and the keyboard.Assuming it was just in need of a reboot, i rebooted it and suddenly none of my buttons worked (every single button including the keyboard and buttons above)suddenly, now my mobile network has been turned off and theres no way of turning it on because nothing works!
