Yesterday evening I updated my blackberry curve 8520, it then needed re booting and since then it has frozen, the screen and the keys? Was working perfectly before with no problems. I have taken battery/sim card out but still nothing. I have also tried to use my blackberry desktop but it is still trying to connect.

It required me to reboot the blackberry so I did and now that it has loaded up I get a message saying 'To start using your Blackberry (R) smartphone, you will need to confirm the languages that you use.' and a highlighted button saying 'Continue'. Thing is, I can't press any buttons or scroll through writing or anything. No buttons, though I can use 'alt' and 'caps. There doesn't seem to be a signal either. I take the battery out and put it back in but when the Blackberry loads up again the same screen comes up. I know it has updated because the loading screen is different.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my 8520 for about 18 months and it has worked fine. Recently, I downloaded an app from app world and then all strange things started to happen. (I am not sure if the problem is related). It would freeze with a white screen or just go black and if I try to reboot it will start up and then freeze again. at first It will only reboot properly if plugged into my desktop. I tried restoring the OS and that didnt help. Now, if it is plugged into the pc or wall charger it just keeps rebooting over and over. The phone works when it wants and sometimes it doesnt. It doesnt work for a whole day.

I downloaded an update from APP World and when I rebooted device it shows BB Logo and the loading line fills up from left to right but never changes screen. The phone is locked in this mode. Is there a manual reset pinhole? The update was for the Traveler APP upgrade free.

I was on it one day on bbm and it died so when I got home I charged it up then went to turn it on but after 2 seconds of the rebooting screen a battery with a red cross appeared giving me the indication my battery was low I let the rebooting process continue but at about three quarters of the way through it froze, so I pulled the battery out after leaving it too freeze for over an hour and carried on doing that. It didn't work a few weeks later I tried it again it worked but then today it ran out of charge and when I tried to turn it on it does the same thing even know I have 100% charge as my other blackberry (which can only use facebook for some reason) said I had 100% in the status option screen.

Yet when the back light goes out and I press a button. The screen lights back up, but I still cant use any buttons. I have tried taking my battery out loads of times, but it doesn't seem to work, I have even left the battery out for a couple of hours and that still hasn't worked.

View 2 Replies View Relatedsince I last looked my phone refuses to recognise input from keys. The keyboard, top keys (red./green, menu, return) and even the side shortcuts are all useless. I've tried a battery pull, it turns on ok and I can use the scroller to move along the shortcut bar, but as soon as it times out and the light goes off even that won't bring function back. I'm pretty much stuck with a paperweight.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust about every day, my BlackBerry Curve 8530 becomes unresponsive to any keys. I use Password Lock (because I have no choice--I upgraded and lost Keyboard Lock) and if I see that the red light is blinking and I go to "sign in" and it won't respond to any keys, including the convenience keys, dial/hang-up, trackpad and click, and Media buttons. However, the phone is still operating and will respond to new messages coming in, phone calls (though you can't use any keys), and Bluetooth, etc. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing fixes it except for pulling the battery (and waiting for it to restart--which takes longer than my computers). This did not happen back under Keyboard Lock before I upgraded the first time. I'm currently on 5.0.0.734Does anyone have any idea of what's happening, or what can be done to get out of the situation when it does occur, short of yanking the battery?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a Curve 8520, and yesterday my phone randomly started playing up.The space bar is not working at all, the alt key only works when pressed and released (usually I can hold it down to write numerous symbols) and the answer and hang up buttons have to be held down for around 4 seconds to answer/end a call?? All of these problems occurred at the same time leading me to believe it's a software problem? I've tried several hard resets, without success.I haven't installed any new apps or updated software recently.

I turned it off and on again, but it would only fill up three quarters of the bar on the loading up screen. I then took the battery out left it for a while put it back in, and it has done exactly the same thing. What I can do to get my blackberry working again.

My signal is still coming through but I cannot receive anything. I press any button and still nothing works, it just comes up with the front page! View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded my lookout virus scanner.Worked great.Did an upgrade from BBapp world and after reboot it starts and the application permission pops up and everything is frozen. My animated screensaver is moving in the background and if I press the alt or caps key the symbol comes on and off but nothing moves and I cant do anything. The phone signal never turns on and the time freezes to when it first starts. I have pulled the battery atleast 20 times and have done the alt caps del reset a bunch too. I email the company of the program and filed a help request but it being the weekend I think Im screwed with them. Can anyone help me out how to get around this I just wanna get my phone back this has been all afternoon.
