BB Curve 8500 :: Keys Might Be Locked Or Are Malfunctioning
Sep 16, 2010Just about every day, my BlackBerry Curve 8530 becomes unresponsive to any keys. I use Password Lock (because I have no choice--I upgraded and lost Keyboard Lock) and if I see that the red light is blinking and I go to "sign in" and it won't respond to any keys, including the convenience keys, dial/hang-up, trackpad and click, and Media buttons. However, the phone is still operating and will respond to new messages coming in, phone calls (though you can't use any keys), and Bluetooth, etc. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing fixes it except for pulling the battery (and waiting for it to restart--which takes longer than my computers). This did not happen back under Keyboard Lock before I upgraded the first time. I'm currently on 5.0.0.734.Does anyone have any idea of what's happening, or what can be done to get out of the situation when it does occur, short of yanking the battery?

Aug 9, 2010since I last looked my phone refuses to recognise input from keys. The keyboard, top keys (red./green, menu, return) and even the side shortcuts are all useless. I've tried a battery pull, it turns on ok and I can use the scroller to move along the shortcut bar, but as soon as it times out and the light goes off even that won't bring function back. I'm pretty much stuck with a paperweight.

Feb 28, 2012I've got a Curve 8520, and yesterday my phone randomly started playing up.The space bar is not working at all, the alt key only works when pressed and released (usually I can hold it down to write numerous symbols) and the answer and hang up buttons have to be held down for around 4 seconds to answer/end a call?? All of these problems occurred at the same time leading me to believe it's a software problem? I've tried several hard resets, without success.I haven't installed any new apps or updated software recently.

When I create a new contact, and when I press backspace to correct a mistake in a field, it deletes the required letter but jumps off to the next field. For example. Lumia 1520 :: PIN Unlock Keyboard Malfunctioning
Apr 21, 2014I have my 1520 set with to require a PIN to unlock it. After updating to WP8.1 sometimes when I use the keypad it will register multiple taps even though I only touch the number once.
The only way I am able to get around this is to lock it again and then bring up the keypad again. This does not always work first time, it might take me locking it a few times.

Jul 14, 2010I haven't dropped my phone. Just got it a month ago. I turned it on this morning and my screen was really messed up. You can see pictures of my screen attached with this post. I bought it from Asia when I was on vacation and brought it back to Canada with me. It is not covered under warranty in Canada. I've tried calling SE Canada and the repair facility and they refuse to fix it even though I told them I'm willing to pay for any charges. I know it's covered under warranty in Asia and I'm willing to ship it there to get it fixed but only as a LAST RESORT. Is there anyway I can fix it? Also, does anyone know if it's a software issue or a hardware?

My phone was running fine on Anna, then last week I had this SW update... Since then my Maps has gone weird. The issue is with Safety Cameras. I use it with alerts activated. But when I approach a camera it has the speed limit for the camera completly wrong so the banner turns red saying I am going 25mph too fast...
Example Im on a 40mph road, Im driving 35mph. A Speed camera comes up and instead of just alerting me it recognises the camera as a speed limit of 15mph, so it warns me Im driving 20mph too fast! This happens on 30 40 50 roads and also motorways...
To try and resolve Ive had my phone plugged in to PC Suite and done a RE-Install of the software but its still the same... I have the latest SW and latest Maps SW too.... I am bambuzzeled *sp as to what this "Anna update" did..

Headphones are working perfectly fine while listening music, I can even record voice in voice recorded with headset mic. But in a call or message reader, nothing is audible at full volume. Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.
