I did an email update to my bb torch and now its stuck in reboot screen at about 90% i tried using my mac to restore a backup i have but as i cannot get access to m y phone i have not been able to update it.
View 5 RepliesI installed and app called Dropbox, and it said it was installed, but the screen was frozen so I couldn't choose OK or Run, so after about half an hour I pulled the battery. Now it is hung up during the boot, with the progress bar about under the Y in Blackberry.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was having issues with my trackpad -- and this thread said to do a clean reload. So I did, and left it going overnight. When I came back to it in the morning, it said it couldn't connect to the device, and that it might require a password.
I don't have a password set, so I clicked retry. I got the same message an hour later. The progress bar looks like it has about 80% left to go.
The phone has been reset to factory defalt, so I'm worried I've lost all my files. I did a few backups before staring, but I have no idea how to restore it myself, and if I should interupt the process.

I did a battery pull and then went to BBDM to see if I could do a "restore" from my computer, but it won't recognize the phone because it is in this frozen pattern. The screen sits in the white screen with timer mode and every 20 minutes or so, the screen goes black and tries to reset and gets stuck back in the white screen with timer mode. I backed my system up yesterday. Can I do a restore if it won't recognize my phone when I plug it in? Is there a hard reset that I can do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedDroid RAZR - bought in November from Verizon store. Screen protectors and case are used; phone has experienced no trauma. While in Gmail today, the screen pixellated, became unresponsive, and now is inoperable. The screen appears as a mostly uniform field of slowly shifting color (pink, green) with a perhaps .75 inch bar of white on the bottom; see attached picture (it was hard to get a good shot because of the lighting). The phone still "works" internally - if you call it, it rings; the screen sleeps after an appropriate time and you can push the power button to bring it back; I hear the chime of emails and texts coming in. However, none of the menu/home/back buttons work, and touching the screen apparently does nothing. When I push the power button to "wake" the phone, the previously described white bar appears instantly, and the fuzzy colored remainder of the screen "develops" over about ten seconds.
I forced a reboot via the power button/volume trick, and heard the reboot process - but the same screen issue stayed throughout the reboot.I am at about 15% power; perhaps a complete shutdown forced by loss of battery power will eventually help. Plugging it in to a charger did not help.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am from South Africa using a 9810 on Mtn network with OS 7.1 . I took my contract out under my name and i gave the 9810 to the wife. The phone automatically asked her to update to os7.1 and the phone worked well for a month.
Eventually the phone started freezing where i can see my screen but i cant see beyond what my screen shows, my cursor works fine as if i scroll down and click it will randomely select the menu icon below or the BBm contact below.
I have done a battery pull not , eventually the wife got fed up and said we need to swop phones , so now i am using a 9810 that is useless if you ask me.
The otther problem i am having is when i switched devices my BB Id stayed on my old phone and her BBId stayed on the 9810 any way i can swop , i tried going into menu > device > BBID and edit it but it keeps telling me incorrect password. Also my e-mail is stuck on that device and her e-mail on my device.
the email message screen stopped showing received or sent messages as of 9:44 Friday evening (48 hours ago) and the date bar on the email screen shows Jul 2, 2045. The time/date on device is correct.

Everything's been working spectacularly until today.This morning I changed the security settings for the AT&T Live TV app and the Pandora app. It then asked for a reboot, which I allowed. The phone turns off, back on to the reboot screen (with the BB logo and "BlackBerry") along with the reboot loading bar on the bottomThe thing is, the bar loads completely and that's it, it stays frozen there Nothing else loads. I can't get passed my reboot screen, I have tried taking out the battery many times, tried downloading the software update and also tried putting in the original software from AT&T and it still freezes on the reboot screen near the end. I downloaded a software called "blackberry Swiss army kit" and I still got nothing done. Everything installs but when it reboots its freezes at the same spot.

It would seem that the ALT function is stuck because I can only access the numbers and not the letters on both the physical keyboard and the virtual keyboard.
I have reset the phone several times. Updated with the latest software, even reset to factory setting and still nothing. My phone is locked with a password so I can't even enter my PIN because it comprises of letters. My carrier can't do anything and my warranty has expired.
I have read some of the other similar problems and my phone has no case or cover on it. On top of it all, it is stuck in SOS mode so I don't even have a signal so I can't even receive phone calls.
My phone has been frozen all day. The past couple of days it's been really slow, then today it just completely froze. I've tried battery pulling about 6 times.. same results. I don't know what to do. It won't connect to the desktop manager

When I tried to charge the phone the startup screen came up as normal but it froze when it got to a certain point, I took out the battery and replaced it after 30 seconds, the phone started to reboot and then froze at the same point.I have reinstalled the OS onto my device from Blackberry desktop and have tried this several times today but it is still freezing at the same point, after about 20-30 minutes of leaving the phone it eventually very slowly came on!t the moment my phone is completely useless to me as it has froze again.
