I got a call from my wife,but it didn't show up like it should with her ring tone and pic. I went to my contacts to see what was wrong and they were ALL gone. I just did a restore from my BB Protect. But what would cause such a thing?

I replaced my Torch 9800 and normally my contacts would automatically update and appear on my phone but this time I cannot find my contacts at all. View 1 Replies View RelatedOver the last 24 hours i've notice my Xperia Z2's battery is draining very quickly, even when asleep. Even when it is plugged in charging, i keep getting messages saying the phone is unable to charge as it is using too much power. And previously i could charge the phone overnight fully, now it doesn't get close to 40%
In addition to this I've noticed it is kicking out a lot of heat at the top of the phone, and also i can no longer connect to the internet via wifi.
Everything else seems ok, and i have managed to back up my data to an sd card. I haven't added any new apps recently.
I've had the phone for less than a year and as far as i know it hasn't had any heavy drops or anything.
This is regarding my bb torch 9800. I just did an update directly from the bb website and NOT from a desktop icon. All I did was connect the phone and pressed "check for updates", from which the results said that there was an update available. It never once asked me to do a system backup...just told me that this could take up to an hour and that I'd be unable to use the phone. All my contacts are gone. This is my first bb so clearly i had no clue about doing a sync to my sim card. Is there any way that I can save all that lost contact info?

And when i try to restore on my new 9810 it says "This data is already wirelessely synchronized with a remote service and cannot be restored by blackberry protect" only for contacts. And i've archived the device by mistake n now it shows "Remote admin commands are not available on archived devices".

I bought my bold 9900 last november and back then I connected the phone to the computer and switch from the 9700 that i own previously. Since then I never connected the phone to the computer again until yesterday to update the software. In the middle of my first attempt to update there was a crash so I started again but for my surprise after de update has finished and i reinitiate the handset it seems that almost eveything was wiped out, I had to reinstal all the applications and when the phone was on it came the option the contacts from sim to be installed but then i have some contacts missing and part of the info of some of the ones that still there are also missing, the weird thing is the pictures that i had in the phone are all there.... DO you think theres anyway to get the contacts back? SHould I restore from the backup of the 9700 that i did when i bought the new phone?

(Firmware: 2.3.6)Not sure which app update caused it...Suddenly "Facebook" , "Twitter" and few other apps stopped and a deluge of pop-ups of Force Close appeared on my Screen. Even though I select "ForceClose"..they reappear repeatedly. I could not open the TASK Manager by pressing the Menu button. I could not even select "Power-Off" option.
Finally I had to shut-down the phone by LongPress of the power button on the right.When restarted....All my contacts are lost. I have had my E71 since May last year and love my phone, I've had no complaints - until now.A few weeks ago I added hotmail on my phone. It downloaded my contacts from my hotmail and I went from 100 phone numbers to over 400 numbers/emails. Now I know I should have backed it up at this point, and I was meaning to, honestly, when yesterday it suddenly decided to randomly dump about 350 of my contacts!
So, I got in touch with my friends and asked them to send me their details again. Just by chance I decided to put a little asterisk beside the new contacts - just in case any of the old contacts returned.Well, the today, I checked my phone, only to discover that it had deleted some of the new contacts I had entered yesterday, but at the same time reinstated a handful of the old contacts I lost! Has anyone else had this problem or can shed a light on this for me? I'm a bit worried about this now, I don't want it to keep dumping numbers I need.
