Aug 27, 2011I updated to the blackberry 6.0 and lost all of my contacts. It asked me if I wanted to load my SIM contacts and I said yes but there is nothing in the contacts folder.

BB Bold :: Lost Recent Contacts And Parts Of Old Contacts
Jan 11, 2012I bought my bold 9900 last november and back then I connected the phone to the computer and switch from the 9700 that i own previously. Since then I never connected the phone to the computer again until yesterday to update the software. In the middle of my first attempt to update there was a crash so I started again but for my surprise after de update has finished and i reinitiate the handset it seems that almost eveything was wiped out, I had to reinstal all the applications and when the phone was on it came the option the contacts from sim to be installed but then i have some contacts missing and part of the info of some of the ones that still there are also missing, the weird thing is the pictures that i had in the phone are all there.... DO you think theres anyway to get the contacts back? SHould I restore from the backup of the 9700 that i did when i bought the new phone?

I didn't back up my phone before doing the sync and the contacts aren't on my mac either.Some contacts appear under recent calls and texts however there are no contacts in my address book.

Jan 30, 2010I have the bold 9700 V5.0.0.321 I had all my contacts duplicated due to sync of my phone with the gmail.on one the contact it duplicate about 10 names and when i tried to delete one of them it deleted everyone of those names. I found out (maybe the wrong way) that you go to the address book press Options -> then press R S E T -> which deleted all of my contacts in the address book and now I cant restore it back. Every time I input the data names and numbers it wont save it. I had the back up but it says the DM doesn't recognise the data. Is there anyone that can help me on how to put my contacts back into my phone.

I hadn't worked out how to sync it with my macbook so I have no back-up (I do now).I don't care about the small number of contacts I'd added to the folder, I just want to get a contacts folder on the phone again.

Jan 4, 2010I have a BB Bold 9700 and during the holidays, I went to my parents' place, where there was no cell coverage... But the weird thing is that my Contacts disappeared as soon as I lost connectivity.... I figured they would reappear when I had coverage again, but not!
So I did a restore from my latest backup in BB Desktop Manager (latest version) and it still didn't work... I don't know what to do anymore...
The rest is still there, calendar, saved messages, pics, etc...)

Dec 15, 2011I just bought new Black Berry Bold 9930, and all of may data already transferred from my old Black Berry 9000, such as contacts, BBM contacts, memo, etc. Before I backup the I've travelling to Singapore and I used local SIM card. And the device recognized the new SIM card inserted and asked me to confirm the Black Berry ID that was created before. But the password is invalid, I tried so many times and still password invalid, and then suggest to be created new Black Berry ID, and I did it. After that all of my data were wiped and I can't use it anymore. So, how can I restore all of my data such as contacts, BBM contacts, memo, etc?

Jan 31, 2010I have had my E71 since May last year and love my phone, I've had no complaints - until now.A few weeks ago I added hotmail on my phone. It downloaded my contacts from my hotmail and I went from 100 phone numbers to over 400 numbers/emails. Now I know I should have backed it up at this point, and I was meaning to, honestly, when yesterday it suddenly decided to randomly dump about 350 of my contacts!
So, I got in touch with my friends and asked them to send me their details again. Just by chance I decided to put a little asterisk beside the new contacts - just in case any of the old contacts returned.Well, the today, I checked my phone, only to discover that it had deleted some of the new contacts I had entered yesterday, but at the same time reinstated a handful of the old contacts I lost! Has anyone else had this problem or can shed a light on this for me? I'm a bit worried about this now, I don't want it to keep dumping numbers I need. Do you think its connected with me putting hotmail on my phone? Its deleted a few photos too!

Aug 13, 2011I seem to have lost all my bbm contacts, even though i did quite a few backups before, i even did so with Blackberry Protect. I am at a loss here. All this happened when i changed service provider. I had asked them before if this would happen and there answer was no. All of asudden yesterday(a day after the switch) i was on the road and all my contacts disappeared. I have tried backing through Blackberry Protect to no result.

May 31, 2012Why have i lost all my contacts on my iphone4s that I just purchased 5 days ago?
I noticed that the contacts were there a couple of days a go and now the whole contacts directory is gone. This is my first iphone having had a Blackberry Storm prior to this. I just signed up for icloud and I'm wondering if it might have been something that I might have done. I'm not familiar with many of the options on the iphone.

Jun 3, 2012I have numbers in my recent phone calls list that used to show their name or nickname, but now just show the phone number, and of course I check the contacts, and they're Gone. I had NOT done any updates recently. My iCloud was set with "contacts ON". My wife also has an iPhone. She also has not recently done any updates. We both have our own logins for iTunes. I have tried Connecting my phone, opening iTunes, and clicking Sync. This did not work. Is there any way to find out where SOME of my contacts went?

Jun 22, 2012I have Iphone 3G - no jail brake!In Itunes i backed up my iphone (i can see the last back up in folder as well in device preferences > devices > device backups) Then I decided to update my Iphone from IOS 4.x.x (i dont remember exact version) to the latest (5.1.1)After update was succesfully done it automatically took latest backup and installed it on iphone. I have all SMS, contact favorites, last calls - BUT THERE ARE NO CONTACTS. Interesting that during pushing favorites it shows very shortly favorite names, but then stays only numbers.I tried to off/on I cloud, sim import, restart, restore from backup - nothing works.

Feb 1, 2010I was trying to back up my contacts from my Nokia E51, but something went wrong and they are now missing.
Here is what I did:
I downloaded the Nokia E51 iSync plugin found on this page after selecting E51: http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/isync/compatibility-and-download.I made sure iSync.app was not running and installed the plugin.I created a group in Address Book.app called Nokia, into which I was going to back up my contacts.I started iSync and added my mobile device. I chose to sync Contacts into the Nokia group, but decided not to sync the CalendarI chose to merge data (not to erase the device details first, which is another option)When I clicked sync I saw a message on the phone stating "Sending 315 contacts", and a little while later, "Receiving 315 contacts." Finally, a "Sync complete" (or something similar) appeared.
After this, I was a little more than shocked to find both the Nokia group within Address Book.app empty, as well as the contacts list on the phone it self. In pure desperation, I restarted the phone, but still - all my contacts are missing.
I know that the webpage says that one should backup all details before synchronizing - which in itself is somewhat of a chicken and egg problem. Backing up is exactly what I was trying to do.
Does anyone have any pointers or ides that I could try to get back the (potentially, hopefully) lost data? I haven't written anything back to the contacts list, is there a way to reconstruct (parts of) the contacts list by reading the memory directly (similar to how deleted files can sometimes be recovered if they haven't been written over)?
