BB Torch :: JVM 545 Error While Uninstalling True Caller App On 9800
Jan 4, 2012
I have a Torch 9800 and on Saturday while uninstalling the true caller app that I thought was the reason for the slow response I was getting from my phone, it began restarting itself and eventually gave me a JVM 545 error - reset and it went off completely. It is has not responded to anything even charging. I have even tried the Blackberry Desktop Software and still no response.
Anyone have issue where the caller id doesn't display the name even when the number is associated to a contact? Im pretty sure it worked up until a few days ago, very strange.
I am having an issue with a weird error code that I have gotten since day 1 of owning my torch. Everytime I do a BP when the phone boots up I am getting an error that says, "122 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. Activatet=6"
I get this same error code when trying to set up my visual voicemail. When someone leaves a message I get that 122 Error as well as another error sent from 1000000000 that just has a garbled message. My VVM has been reset twice by at&t and I have been told that everything is provisioned correctly. I was hoping that .214 would fix this issue but still it persists.
As you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?
My phone just started giving me an error 71>=71 and after that im getting App Error 603 and my phone turns to a white screen then just shuts off totally. I have try to reformat the programs but half way through the process my phone says it cannot find a connection to my CPU but it does recognize it at the beginning?
I'm a new Blackberry user just picking up a Torch today. I proceeded to sunc up my Contacts using Blackberry Desktop Manager and was presented with an error and a KB article to consult. KB19454-"The <organizer application> database cannot be accessed for synchronization" appears when attempting a synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager 1.0 on a Mac computer
Has anyone experienced this issue and no the solution? Although the KB article references many sync item issues, mine is with contacts. I admit I was a little disappointed to find that out-of-the-box I was unable to sync with Contacts on OS X.
My BB Torch 9800 is not working! I can't even get the original JVM error to come up now - only reboot. I can't function without it. (I'm running OS6, bundle 2647) I chatted w/AT&T, but they directed me back to Blackberry.I have tried soft reboot, hard reboot, restoring from desktop software, re-downloading BBSAK to wipeout & reload OS6, but my phone will not even show as connected so desktop software & BBSAK will not recognize my device. After removing the battery, the red LED light comes on, the screen lights up, but the bar at startup wont even get 25% across now before it shuts down & restarts again. What can I do to get my BB Torch to reboot?
I have purchased BB torch 9800 just 5 months back. some 2 months back it started telling out of memory error and my mobile did not boot at all. then i took the same to service center. There they have reloaded the software and gave to me without any additional cost. There after rebuilding my application and data took me more than 3 days.
again after 3 months i am getting same kind of problme my device is busy in doing some work. i do not know what is the reason.
For last 2 weeks I've had a SIM card error message on my Torch 9800. It also shows an SOS message where the signal strength should be. The error message goes away when I'm in range of a wireless network which my phone has been set up for (my home, and where I work). Otherwise it won't receive/sent messages when I'm outside one of these zones. I've had tried opening the phone up and removing/reinserting the SIM card. It doesn't work. Now I have a phone that pretty much doesn't work, except in very small zones. What can I do to get my phone fixed. Does this sound like something I can do myself, or do I need to send it to RIM to be fixed.
when I reboot my BB (Torch 9800, OS 6), I always have this message "Uncaught exeption: Application Registry. Get Or Wait For (0x70170be9d2fc292) owner died Thread [Thread-399124480,5]".
I cant seem to remove the AT&T Address Book, and after hrs on the phone with AT&T and RIM seems no one knows how to?! I am pretty proficient with tinkering with Blackberry's but I don't see anywhere in the OS a way to revert the contact list to default and remove the AT&T Address Book completely from the phone. This is really screwing up my back ups and contact list and I would appreciate some input from the true BB knowledge base on the web!
I've been going around and around with this issue for the last couple days. When I opened citysearch it said there was an update. After updating it all it did was open, nothing else, then it just closed. So I deleted it, thinking I'd reinstall it, but it doesn't show up in appworld when I do a search. So I go to appworld online and send have it send me a link, but no reinstall button. So i delete appworld to see if that will fix it. now when I try to reinstall it I get the message..."sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support blackberry app world" Ok.....so I reinstall the os just for the heck of it. Still same thing. Why is it so difficult to add apps to this phone? I never had this kind of grief with my 9000.
I know there are separate posts on this subject on connection consistency problems but I can't seem to get an answer to a fundamental question. Is the problem hardware or software related? Since turning off WiFi improves the connection consistency significantly what does that imply? I want to return my Torch of this is a hardware issue.
My girlfriend just got the BlackBerry Torch 9800. She updated the twitter app wich is on the phone. It restarted and now it just shows "App Error 603". When I try to Reset It just goes back to same page with the same error. I already tried force detect with the application loader no success.

I keep getting the following message:"The network you are connected to appears to be a hotspot. You may be required to consent to legal terms and/or set up an account to get internet access. Hotspot operators may charge service fees for internet access". However, its a free network that my other devices, such as my playbook connect to without problems. When I click "OK" I get another message that says: "This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again." I click OK, and it takes my to the BB browser, which of course doesn't work. Its like it wants me to give permission to use the network, but I need to use the network to give the approval.
-WiFi is enabled -Bluetooth is enabled -Other devices including Playbook currently work on the network -Repeatedly gives me the first message above, followed by the second message above
I get this problem and cant sync my contacts from Mac.I am sorry i spent so much money. I got the same problem with the 9000 bold and was teh reason i let go. Now I have the same problem.
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
I just got the BB Torch 9800. It's my first touchscreen phone, so I'm sorry if this has been discussed before. While I'm on a phone call, the following buttons automatically appear on the touchscreen: Mute, Hold, Speaker Phone, and Add Recipient. I have yet to complete a phone conversation without hitting one of these buttons with my cheek. I cannot for the life of me find a way in Options to stop these buttons from appearing during phone calls.I am actually considering returning the phone over this.
When i sync my contacts from DM with outlook on my torch i keep getting this error message - error 0x80040fb3
I have removed all of the pictures from the contacts on outlook but the error message still appears. I have uncheck the picture and attachment fields in the DM but the error message still appears.
I had the tour first and since upgrading to .732 since the BOLD has the same software and i now have the bold 9650-verizon. When my phone rings the last callers name will come up first then automatically change to current caller.Has this been happening to anyone?
I was running on OS 6.248 but now I want to update it to OS 6.546, but I cant cuz everytime i try to update using the desktop software the update stops at 1230 and i get the error "check your internet connection or try again later".My internet connection is fine there's nothing wrong with it.
My phone ran out of battery so i charged it, once the phone turned on i was prompted with a message that said "Uncaught exception: Index 4>= 4" and ever since this has appeared i can't read my messages or create text messages
Less than a week ago I purchased my black berry and everything worked smoothly. Today I woke up and I played with the camera a bit, taking pictures and such. Then when i wanted a photo saved it wouldn't save to the proper place. It said, "File System Error (6)" I've tried rebooting it, restarting it, removing the battery, taking out the SIM card and putting it back, etc... None of them have worked and now I can't even find or see my photos that I've taken already with the camera. My videos are still there and viewable unlike the pictures.
I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
