I had the tour first and since upgrading to .732 since the BOLD has the same software and i now have the bold 9650-verizon. When my phone rings the last callers name will come up first then automatically change to current caller.Has this been happening to anyone?
View 9 RepliesThis is my first bb and I love it to bits...I have noticed that today whenever i receive a call I have the same caller id showing as the first person that rang me after I switched my phone on this morning...and that was my wife...so I have been answering "hi gorgeous" to everyone all day!

I know there have been similar issue like mine with other phones, i have looked through alot of threads and found no solution. ive also noticed that it seem to be an issue with only Verizon phones
That said here is the issue:
I bought a BB 9650 unlocked from Verizon, and i am using it in Canada with Fido, and when i get phone calls from people, it shows up as unknown number, but i realize i have these people numbers stored on my contact list super weird.
Having recently updated the device software to 7.1 bundle 2061(v7.1.0.714, platform 5.1.0.532) I have noticed that when receiving a voice call the contact name is not displayed just the number, unless you know the number then you can't be sure who is calling? However after the call has stopped the name is displayed in the call log, assuming of course that the person calling is in the contact list

I would expect, like every other phone I've ever seen, that it would display the associated name.

For example I have added my home number as a contact, as well as my partners mobile, and both phones when they ring it comes up as "call" and then if I miss the call, it states (no number). And I know for a fact both of these numbers are not private. Is there a setting I need to change to make the number display? I have turned on my info display for other callers, but this has not helped.

Every time I got a phone call, it would always say it was Stephanie, but it wasn't. Then, when I'd go into my call logs, it'd show the accurate names of the people who called me.

Now...any incoming call...from any of my contacts...it says 'unknown'.

Neither am I able to hear any voice from the other side nor the person on the other side is able to hear me. Basically, any kind of call I make or receive (from phone, from head unit, from phonebook on head unit, typing the number in, etc) the head unit always shows "unknown caller" and neither the number or the name is displayed. If someone calls me on a land line the caller id works great and name appears as in my contact list. If someone calls me on a cell phone I get unknown number. I have tried battery pull and tried changing encryption or the smart dialing settings.

View 3 Replies View Relatedjust bought a great bb bold 9900 in white and am still geting to grips with this piece if kit, everytime i receive a call all i see is unknown number, now having googled the problem the answer i receive is the following..go to settings, security, encryption, UNTICK include contacts and then UNTICK encrypt.Now everytime i untick encryptions, then save and exit....it automatically ticks the include contacts box...and the end result is caller id fails to work.

When I receive a call, it shows the incorrect caller ID, but the CORRECT photo of the true caller. Often it shows the last person that called rather than the true caller. When I answer the call, it then displays the correct caller.
