I have a Bold 9700 and have started having a really weird and annoying problem. When I receive a call, it shows the incorrect caller ID, but the CORRECT photo of the true caller. Often it shows the last person that called rather than the true caller. When I answer the call, it then displays the correct caller.

View 11 Replies View RelatedIts will not show the contact name anymore, it just started to do it today. It just displays the number which is a problem cuz I don't know contact numbers by heart.
I did a couple searches but I didn't find my problem. I'm sure there's a thread and sorry if there is as SMS problems with the 9700 are relatively common.

Does it with some more often then others and seems to be ones that i've added myself rather then ones taken from facebook. View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with a brand new Bold 9700. When receiving a text (SMS) the user's name is not displayed, just their mobile number details. All the details of the person are stored in my contacts on the phone, and if you click the options against the text message, it then figures out the name of the sender as it adds their name in the options to email, call, SMS etc.I went into the SMS options and initially saw that the "Show names" option was marked as "No". I thought, aha changed it to "yes" but this makes no difference.
My O/S is v5.0.0.344 (Platform 5.1.0.96)
Carrier is Vodafone in the UK
I did see other posts for updates, but these related to O/S version 4xx which seems to be a different version to mine (which also seemed strange as mine is a brand new phone), and so was kind of scared to try that on my O/S.
On the new update my caller id is not displayed as full screen. How can I get my full screen caller id back?

View 9 Replies View RelatedNo sooner did I get rid of my e-mail problem than another one cropped up. The last time I charged my phone, after I unplugged it, the battery level stayed at 100% for more than five hours. Then, when it got down to 30%, the phone warned about low battery level and shut down. Afterwards, it was impossible to turn back on.
Now, I've plugged it in and it still displays 30% battery. It looks like the indicator is out of whack. How can I reset it?
I have a 8520 and anyone who calls me is displayed as unknown even though his/his phone isn't set to hide their caller I'd.

However, there is a strange little bug in it: Every time I type ":-)" in a text message, it will be replaced with a "sad face" icon (). View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9700 and currently have v5.0.0.423 (Platform 5.1.0.116) software on the phone. I have done one software upgrade since getting the phone in February.
I have an intermittent problem, that when the phone rings, it shows a contacts name, but it isn't that person who is phoning, it does however display the right number which is currently ringing.. So the number isn't the contacts' it shows. This happens with saved contacts as well as none saved one, it shows random contact names.
Then I also can not do a full shutdown. If I choose "Turn power off", it gives me two options: "Turn off" and "Full power off". Whichever one I choose, it just does the quick shutdown and not the long reboot one.
Both these problems started after upgrading my software to v5.0.0.432.
When I receive a call it will come up on the phone as either the last number received or a random collection of numbers. quite often in one day I will receive 20 calls and all incoming calls on that day will be the same number until i answer the call. Any ideas?

And then if i try to check the call history, it doesn't show up, instead it shows all the contacts from address book. I got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
