I send a text message to Person A I receive a text message from Person A but its under the convo box of Person B Under 'SMS conversations; the text message will be in the wrong thread but when I go to 'SMS inbox' it tells me who really sent the text message. Thing is, that can get a bit tiring to do every time I get a text message.
View 4 RepliesWhen I click from either the "Notification" screen, or the Text Message List, I am directed to the wrong text messaging thread. This doesn't happen every time, it happens every day, and multiple times, however. Usually, when I reboot the phone, the problem is gone...momentarily.
It seems to happen with random messages. I use Universal Inbox and currently see message from text, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and my AT&T mail.
If I use the stock Text Messaging app, I can open the list of messages and see whatever I can from the preview there, but when I click to open the thread, it will open a totally random message thread. Weird. I'm not that into text messaging, but it does annoy me when I need to use it and I can't open individual messages because the wrong ones are appearing.
I don't know if this is a device problem, a software/app problem, an AT&T messaging problem or what. I'm somewhat ignorant about smartphones and have only had this Atrix 2 for about three months.
I am exchanging text messages with my husband and my daughter between the three of us and then my husband's answer would suddenly come back to me in the thread where there is just the two of us talking? That happened on several occasions and not with this set of senders only.
View 1 Replies View Related419 just put a SMS in the wrong 'thread'! That is, I had a thread going with friend #1, and got an off-topic SMS from that friend. Turns out friend #2 sent it and the OS put it in the #1's thread! This is bad... very very bad. Even worse if it's sending out SMSs to the wrong people. My wife and my girlfriend are going to be very annoyed.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9700 and currently have v5.0.0.423 (Platform 5.1.0.116) software on the phone. I have done one software upgrade since getting the phone in February.
I have an intermittent problem, that when the phone rings, it shows a contacts name, but it isn't that person who is phoning, it does however display the right number which is currently ringing.. So the number isn't the contacts' it shows. This happens with saved contacts as well as none saved one, it shows random contact names.
Then I also can not do a full shutdown. If I choose "Turn power off", it gives me two options: "Turn off" and "Full power off". Whichever one I choose, it just does the quick shutdown and not the long reboot one.
Both these problems started after upgrading my software to v5.0.0.432.
I have the Razr Maxx thru Verizon.I have a husband and wife setup as separate contacts but same last names.If I use voice and say "Linda" it brings up her contact. If I select it so her name shows it the contact field then send a text message, it ends up under her husbands conversation. It appears to have been sent to her husband.But I don't get replies.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've never had any problems with my BlackBerry Torch 9800 until today. I cannot receive text messages off one of my contacts but they are receiving my sent ones! I have restarted my phone by taking out the barrery and the SIM card 3 times with no change. As has my contact (he has a BlackBerry Curve). I have checked my Firewall settings (they are switched off) and neither of us are in each others blocked list.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with a brand new Bold 9700. When receiving a text (SMS) the user's name is not displayed, just their mobile number details. All the details of the person are stored in my contacts on the phone, and if you click the options against the text message, it then figures out the name of the sender as it adds their name in the options to email, call, SMS etc.I went into the SMS options and initially saw that the "Show names" option was marked as "No". I thought, aha changed it to "yes" but this makes no difference.
My O/S is v5.0.0.344 (Platform 5.1.0.96)
Carrier is Vodafone in the UK
I did see other posts for updates, but these related to O/S version 4xx which seems to be a different version to mine (which also seemed strange as mine is a brand new phone), and so was kind of scared to try that on my O/S.
I have a little problem, if we can consider this a problem. When i receave a SMS from a friend X, my Blackberry lag (the screen doesn't change, for like 0.5 sec). But when I receave a SMS from let's say Y, it can take up to 5 to 10 seconds before the screen move or I can move with the track pad to see the message. It's annoying.
So here is what I think, Is this because.. :
- I have over 35 000 SMS in the DB ?
- I have like 100 SMS from X and 5000 from Y ?
- My phone is on the vibrator but for Y he has a music ?
- Is this OS 5 ? But he is faster then OS 4 and I updated a while ago ?

I just got the new Bold 9700 and all my SMS messages I receive are all in the same chat/thread - and they are from different people.How do I fix this? Every-time I try to send an SMS to someone it does not send to them and automatically sends to the last person i text.

But one problem i'am having trouble with sending and receiving text messages. I have called att customer care numerous times and powered cycled my phone as many times as I can count but still nothing, I have also checked to see if the "service center" number is correct and it is, I still have no clue what it could be. How do i get rid of either this showing or blackberry messenger completely?

1-I can't send or receive texts from certain contacts (right now it only seems to be from my boyfriend, we're both on At&t).

An interesting scenario!! Also makes me wander who else might be aware of my sms conversations!I cant put my finger on when the issue first started, it does seem to have started fairly recenlty though. At first i thought i must have done something wrong...but now i am sure there is some sort of anomaly here. I have done an iphone reset (ie..hold power and home buttons down for 10 seconds). That did not seem to resolve. My friends is using an iphone 3GS (not sure of iOS version) and my wife and i are both on iphone 4 with 5.1.1. View 5 Replies View RelatedI was trying to link my mom's contact to her facebook profile, and so I added her full name-- Kathy Jones. However, my phone auto synced her to another facebook contact... Katie Jones. On her contact card, I added my mom's cell number and email address, neither of which is the same as Katie's. However, my phone autosynced it with Katie, adding in her phone number and email address to the contact card. AND, because it is a facebook contact, i'm told "facebook contact information is not editable on this device" It's not a dealbreaker, just annoying, as the wrong photo shows up when my mom calls, and I'm afraid that one day i'm going to accidentally select the wrong number/email address.Is there anyway to unlink these? I don't want to disable all facebook syncing, as i like being able to quickly access profiles of my other contacts, and have photos connected to them. I'm just looking for a way to manually tell my phone that these two people, despite having the same last name and similar first names are not, in fact, the same person.
