Jul 6, 2010When I select any of these 1.vcf through 999.vcf they all go to the same blackberry message contact. How do I delete them? Where did they come from and can I delete them? I have to scroll down past all of them in order to see my regular files. I can't mass select them and I sure hate selecting them one at a time to delete them.

Sep 2, 2010I just got the 9700. Great phone, but I'm having a problem with my contacts. I came from an Android HTC, so my contacts were synched up online in my google account. However, my email account has always been yahoo. So for the blackberry, I set up yahoo email, and all the contacts came through to the contact app (and I couldn't find any way to undo that). Then, solely for the purpose of getting my contacts onto the blackberry, I set up gmail. The contacts came through successfully.
The problem is that both sets are now displayed in the contacts, but I only want those from google. The yahoo contacts are only email contacts, so I only want them to come through in the email app.
In contacts, I went to menu - select contact list - google. This solved the problem, but only until I exited the app. As soon as I entered next time, both lists were reselected (show all contact lists).

Jun 22, 2012Every now and then, I will send a text message to a friend, and somehow, the message and the following conversation, seems to be copied to my wifes phone. An interesting scenario!! Also makes me wander who else might be aware of my sms conversations!I cant put my finger on when the issue first started, it does seem to have started fairly recenlty though. At first i thought i must have done something wrong...but now i am sure there is some sort of anomaly here. I have done an iphone reset (ie..hold power and home buttons down for 10 seconds). That did not seem to resolve. My friends is using an iphone 3GS (not sure of iOS version) and my wife and i are both on iphone 4 with 5.1.1. My wife's and my phone are managed by the same itunes account / pc (not sure if there is some sort of confusion between phs somehow?)

Mar 24, 2010My new E72 doesn't seem to support contact groups as well as my old N73.
Once upon a time I used to prefix contact names with special characters so that I could sort by different types in the contact list.
I then got my N73 with contact groups, so I used those instead and did away with the prefixes in the names.
The N73 let me quickly switch from the full contact list to the groups tab, so that I could then select the appropriate group and find the contact within it that I wanted.
Now I've 'upgraded' to an E72, I still have Groups, but they buried in the the full contact list in alphabetical order, so I can't select them quickly.
To make matters worse, there's no use reverting back to my ol prefixing strategy, because special characters (non alphanum) now seem to be ignored as part of the collating sequence, so I cannot easily influence the order of entries.

May 13, 2010I have a Bold 9700 and currently have v5.0.0.423 (Platform 5.1.0.116) software on the phone. I have done one software upgrade since getting the phone in February.
I have an intermittent problem, that when the phone rings, it shows a contacts name, but it isn't that person who is phoning, it does however display the right number which is currently ringing.. So the number isn't the contacts' it shows. This happens with saved contacts as well as none saved one, it shows random contact names.
Then I also can not do a full shutdown. If I choose "Turn power off", it gives me two options: "Turn off" and "Full power off". Whichever one I choose, it just does the quick shutdown and not the long reboot one.
Both these problems started after upgrading my software to v5.0.0.432.

However, my phone autosynced it with Katie, adding in her phone number and email address to the contact card. AND, because it is a facebook contact, i'm told "facebook contact information is not editable on this device" It's not a dealbreaker, just annoying, as the wrong photo shows up when my mom calls, and I'm afraid that one day i'm going to accidentally select the wrong number/email address.Is there anyway to unlink these? I don't want to disable all facebook syncing, as i like being able to quickly access profiles of my other contacts, and have photos connected to them. I'm just looking for a way to manually tell my phone that these two people, despite having the same last name and similar first names are not, in fact, the same person.

Aug 9, 2010I have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.

Dec 30, 2011After having gone a couple of months withs with Gingerbread without any problems to report I started experiencing a strange thing with incoming calls, texts, emails, etc.For incoming calls, the number displayed is the correct number but the screen pulls an incorrect name from my contacts list and displays a picture (taken from either LinkedIn or Facebook profiles) that is from a third, different contact.So the number is for Contact A and is the actual caller, the name that is displayed is contact B and the photo is contact c.If I go to make an outgoing call, the same thing in the inverse occurs.I choose Contact A and it dials contact A but displays it is calling contact B.This has caused me to have to double & triple check when I am making calls to ensure that it is calling the right contacts.
A similar thing happens for texts, incoming texts display the correct number from which they are originating but display that they are from a different contact name.When I go to send a text and enter a number it indicates that it is sending it to the correct phone number but with a different name assocaited with that number. Finally, something similar is happening in email messaging. If I hit reply, while the actual email address is correct the contact name that it lists is incorrect.
