I did a couple searches but I didn't find my problem. I'm sure there's a thread and sorry if there is as SMS problems with the 9700 are relatively common.
when I set up a new email account and the new mail box icon comes on the screen i used to get a beep (tone) when the box would appear (this was on my 9000) now I would like to have a similar sound on this one but cant seem to find the settings
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9700 and have started having a really weird and annoying problem. When I receive a call, it shows the incorrect caller ID, but the CORRECT photo of the true caller. Often it shows the last person that called rather than the true caller. When I answer the call, it then displays the correct caller.

View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently got a blackberry bold 9700 as a gift. Noticed that a very tiny icon comes up near the upper left corner of the screen. Looks like a box or briefcase with a red circle on the top right corner of the icon, either with a white star or arrow in it. Its too small to say for sure. Can't find any answers in the manuals or online.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have the time displayed when I am browsing or on the internet? Now I only have the name of the site I am viewing whether I am on Edge or 3G and my signal.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with a brand new Bold 9700. When receiving a text (SMS) the user's name is not displayed, just their mobile number details. All the details of the person are stored in my contacts on the phone, and if you click the options against the text message, it then figures out the name of the sender as it adds their name in the options to email, call, SMS etc.I went into the SMS options and initially saw that the "Show names" option was marked as "No". I thought, aha changed it to "yes" but this makes no difference.
My O/S is v5.0.0.344 (Platform 5.1.0.96)
Carrier is Vodafone in the UK
I did see other posts for updates, but these related to O/S version 4xx which seems to be a different version to mine (which also seemed strange as mine is a brand new phone), and so was kind of scared to try that on my O/S.
I don't remember what I did but my phone icon disappeared and I don't know how to get it back on my home screen.
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe new message icon remains on the home screen even after the messages have been read. It also remains on the Message folder.I was told to remove the battery when the phone is "On" and re-insert it. The icon does disappear only to return when new messages arrive. Is there a permanent solution for this problem? This must be a software problem but no new software updates are available from RIM
View 10 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a few application that I thought were demos of games, but turned out to just be links to the developer's website. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications. They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?
Information:
Phone: Bold 9700
OS: 5.0.0.351
Carrier: Rogers Wireless
I have recently notice a small red icon next to the carrier (Orange) name at the top of my 9700's home screen. On close examination it appears to be a house icon. I can't find reference to it in any of the booklets or by Googling. (I've also noticed that when I'm in the office it goes white).

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to place an icon on the homescreen which opens directly to a webpage. For example, I don't use the Facebook application due to preferring the mobile web based version but would like to open directly from the homepage if possible without opening the browser and selecting the bookmark.
I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I woke this morning to see my Yahoo email icon back on my home screen. Has anyone else gotten it back? And lastly, how do I change it back to a stock BB icon?
Never noticed this one before; a tiny notification icon in the application banner.Anyone know what app this is? Can't seem to find it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't find my BB messenger icon anymore. It's not in the IM folder or my home screen folder and I don't have any icons "hidden". It is downloaded.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a new SMS, it is the same as a new e-mail icon. However, this is not supposed to be so... SMS's are supposed to be a slanted envelop. I never had this problem with my old curve 8320. I've also had this icon issue since I got my phone several months ago. The icons remain the same no matter which OS version I use. I am on T-mobile.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just noticed today that when I go into Settings, a box icon with an N appears next to the battery. What is this? When I exit Settings it goes away.
