View 2 RepliesRecently got a blackberry bold 9700 as a gift. Noticed that a very tiny icon comes up near the upper left corner of the screen. Looks like a box or briefcase with a red circle on the top right corner of the icon, either with a white star or arrow in it. Its too small to say for sure. Can't find any answers in the manuals or online.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThe new message icon remains on the home screen even after the messages have been read. It also remains on the Message folder.I was told to remove the battery when the phone is "On" and re-insert it. The icon does disappear only to return when new messages arrive. Is there a permanent solution for this problem? This must be a software problem but no new software updates are available from RIM
View 10 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a few application that I thought were demos of games, but turned out to just be links to the developer's website. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications. They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?
Information:
Phone: Bold 9700
OS: 5.0.0.351
Carrier: Rogers Wireless
I have recently notice a small red icon next to the carrier (Orange) name at the top of my 9700's home screen. On close examination it appears to be a house icon. I can't find reference to it in any of the booklets or by Googling. (I've also noticed that when I'm in the office it goes white).
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to place an icon on the homescreen which opens directly to a webpage. For example, I don't use the Facebook application due to preferring the mobile web based version but would like to open directly from the homepage if possible without opening the browser and selecting the bookmark.
I can't find my BB messenger icon anymore. It's not in the IM folder or my home screen folder and I don't have any icons "hidden". It is downloaded.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've never had a problem with any other devices connecting to my home wifi, but my Blackberry 9700 keeps getting the grey wifi icon on the home screen, and when I'm trying to load a website, it keeps switching to Edge or 3G to complete the loading of a webpage. In manage connections, I sometimes have a green tick next to my home broadband, but very often I have a (-). Is there anything I can do to make the connection better?
So far, I've tried:Deleting the connection and setting up the wifi again;
Pulling the battery.Neither has helped. Could it possibly be a hardware fault? I have the up to date OS etc.
Just signed up and not sure if this has been answered is it possible to add now playing to left button or main screen on blackberry 9700

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a voice mail pop-up saying I had 49 New Voice Messages. Now I have the number 49 and a really tiny message indicator with a line pointing up from the middle of the reels. If I then get a voice message, that number and the message icon appears to the left. After I listen to the vm, both will disappear. If I turn the phone off and turn it back on, the 49 and little icon are back. Any ideas? I have the BB Bold 9900.

My home screen shows the unread email icon. However, my email does not have any unread messages. Why didn't it remove the icon from my home screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUnlocked blackberry bold 9700 (v5.0.0.405, Platform 5.1.0.112) I've had for about 9 months now. Tried to connect to wifi in an airport without success and deletetd the profile. I've never used the wifi before and don't plan on using it again. Now I can't get rid of the inactive grey wifi icon on my homescreen, and occasionally I find my phone connected to AT&T public wifi in random places. I've tried restoring default wifi settings to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a n00b so I apologize in advance, but I just bought my Blackberry Bold and really dig this phone. However, I want to add more icons to the home screen other than the 5 that are currently on there. How do I do this? I am currently using the "Widescreen HD 9700 O550" theme (which looks really nice).I just switched over from the G1/Android OS so I am still learning my way around the Blackberry.
View 4 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I switched to another phone for a few days and I left my Bold with its battery removed for a day or two. When I restarted my Bold 9700, I've been unable to see or act on the home screen or apps screen. However, the phone is still working (push on the green button and the phone screen pops up), same with the long press on blackberry key.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThe system seems to be locked on the "Home Screen" (the screen with the picture background). You can hold down the blackberry button and it will bring up a menu where I can read my email and make calls (the trackball works here), but I can't select anything on the home screen, or on the large list of icons.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday my phone got cut off (forgot to make a payment. Sue me). I called ATT, made the payment and got the phone up and running. Problem was, my blackberry browser, ubertwitter and Facebook didn't work. But for some reason my opera mini did work. I called ATT and they did whatever it is they do and my phone worked again. This morning my phone froze. It stayed on the main screen and didn't do anything else. I did a battery pull and got the same thing. Now I can't even do a wipe because the phone stops responding when it gets to the main screen and my desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone when I plug it in. Can anyone help? I'm starting to wish I had just bought a damned iPhone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI figured this maybe a simple case of reloading the firmware but I wanted to know id nyone else had any insights.
Basically I can't get to the home screen, I have a password on my phone, soon as I try to unlock it the phone locks up.
I've done a battery pull and removing the SD card and the SIM but no joy.
But if I use the phone to make calls its fine.
Its really weird to say the least.
It could be the password causing it, is there anyway for me to disable the password outside of the phone itself? Such as using desktop manager? Or should I just bite the bullet and update the firmware?
