Just got my 9700. All in all, I like it except the UI is horrific. The majority of the screen is taken up by the green stuff which serves absolutely no purpose and to get to the screen with all the icons I need to click on the BB button. Obviously, this is subjective and maybe people like this green stuff, but can someone tell me if there is a way to bypass this and have the screen with all the icons be my default? Perhaps someone wrote a theme or something like that?
On my BB Bold 9700 the font on the phone number dial line has changed after an OS update and does not match the font used on all apps on the device. Note I am only referencing the phone number input line Originally the font was the same as all other apps including other text display in the phone mode.
Is there a way to put a shortcut on the main screen for the battery level? I have been unsuccessful so far. I don't think the shortcuts option will let your drill down that deep to place that specific shortcut on the main screen.
i have a new SMS icon on my screen. I already deleted all my SMS and the icon is still there. After deleted all SMS, i even send a new one just so I think it may reset the screen. No dice, then I tried battery pull, no dice either.
I've had my BlackBerry Bold 9700 for more than 3 months.Lately, the icon's been getting stuck on my Main Screen. So, I always ended up uninstalling and reinstalling, and the problem would always get fixed. But last time I did that, my BlackBerry Messenger disappeared..I tried everything!..I looked through every single folder, ticked Show All, but nothing,I also went to Explore, showed hidden files, there was nothing I tried rebooting, deleting and reinstalling, also nothing..I also went on Desktop Manager, checked the Application Loader, and it's there, it's ticked.I checked Options > Applications > Add-on, and I can see that the BlackBerry Messenger is installed (Research In Motion Limited, version 188.8.131.52).My Device Software is updated, and when I check for updates, it says no updates available.I tried Security Wipe, but it's still not there..I tried to backup and restore as well, but nothing's changed
i've had this happen to my 8900, and thought there was something wrong with the phone, but after doing a official update from t-mobile on mt 9700 the same thing happens. whe doing a battery pull and the phone reboots. only on the main screen (the screen with all the apps and folders) the screen is completely blank or white and the only way i can see the folders or apps is by highlighting them. only happened after i updated it and only happens when doing a battery pull, once i reset the wall paper it will be fine until i do another battery pull. i already uninstalled and reinstalled my blackberry desktop and try to reload and that didn't fix it. anyone had this issue or know how to fix it.
Not asking how to debrand the phone, I know thats frowned upon.I just got a 9700 Bold and want to make it as clean as I can legally. I've already replaced the faceplate on the front of the phone with a OEM one. Is it possible for me to disable the t-mobile logo thats always floating above the home screen? Also can I remove the applications that they pre-installed on the phone? (does updating the OS do this??)Basically everything but changing the bootup logo as I believe that involves debranding..
I've been wondering why my hotmail shortcut is just the usual envelope-with-small-globe one, because my friend's 9700 has the envelope-with-small-orange-envelope for her hotmail emails. Anyone know how to fix this? I'm running on 9700/184.108.40.2062.
I just got my first blackberry and I'm trying to adjust some of the settings.
1.) Is there an easier way to unlock the phone other than pressing the lock key at the top? I can conveniently lock it by pressing the * key, but is there an alternative for unlocking it? (I can't set it as a convenience key for some reason, it's not showing up as one of the options.)
2.) How do I set my alarms to vibrate only? I've selected and adjusted the "Vibrate Only" profile and made everything silent. But my alarms are still making sounds!
Having only recently discovered the shortcut key for the period-full stop (double clicking the space bar) I want to know if there is a similar shortcut key for the comma. I currently use the Alt key and the comma key, but if there was a shortcut I'd love to know.
Is there a way of making a shortcut for documents folders and so on,at the moment im going to 'media' > menu button>explore> then browsing to my documents folder on the memory card. would love a shortcut on my home screen, is this possible?
I've searched the net and other forums for support and cannot find a solution to this problem. Essentially, on my Blackberry Bold 9700 I lost the ability to hit the K button to lock the keyboard. I have a BB 9700 running v220.127.116.114. I had not installed any new software at all before getting this problem. I didn't do anything differently other than launch the Kayak app. I updated the app and also removed it but still the K button does not work to lock the keyboard.
After searching the forums, I found a couple suggestions (which didn't work):
- Reset the theme didn't work but it did make the 'keyboard lock' icon come back to the home screen. The issue is that there is no under the K to make it so when I hit K it locks the screen. I even tried the default theme (it's a T-Mobile US branded 9700) and didn't work either. - Reinstall service books didn't work either didn't think there is a correlation here anyway. - Full restart, batter pull did this multiple times didn't work. - Update software all software apps and OS is up-to-date. I have fully uninstalled the kayak app just in case there was a correlation, still doesn't work.
ive got the blue " new blackberry messenger" symol on the top of my phone but i have no pending messages to read - i have deleted all messages, chats etc - the only thing i have done is deleted a contact and ignored them - i tried unignoring all and its still there! have taken the battery out etc but im about to throw it across the room now!
I searched and searched but couldn't find anything related to my situation. Is there any kind of way to have my music playing in the background while I'm playing a game, without it stopping everytime I start over?? I don't think I ever listened to muisc the past while gaming; if I did, I don't remember. When I'm playing BUBBLE SHOOTER, NOT BrickBreaker (sorry errbdoy, I put dwn the wrong name), the music plays until I hit the 'Start New Game' button. It just pauses. I've tried putting my phone on Vibrate and even Silent, but it still cuts off. My music will play while I'm actually playing the game, but once I lose and hit the button to play the game again, it stops, and I have to go back to Now Playing and resume
I've checked other posts & not found this one described. It sits to the right of the yellow envelope showing incoming emails. It is slightly smaller than the yellow envelope, seems to be a grey envelope, with a black 'seal' and a tiny red circle on the top right corner which may have the number '1' in it - all very difficult to see.I've checked all my emails - all empty. No RIM messages either. No BlackBerry World updates.Removed battery & rebooted.
