BB Bold 9700 :: How To Reset New SMS Icon On Main Screen?
May 18, 2010
i have a new SMS icon on my screen. I already deleted all my SMS and the icon is still there. After deleted all SMS, i even send a new one just so I think it may reset the screen. No dice, then I tried battery pull, no dice either.
I have the icon for blackberry messenger in the message indicator area on my bold--even though I deleted bbm. How do I get rid of the icon? I don't use messengers, too many other ways to communciate.
I've checked other posts & not found this one described. It sits to the right of the yellow envelope showing incoming emails. It is slightly smaller than the yellow envelope, seems to be a grey envelope, with a black 'seal' and a tiny red circle on the top right corner which may have the number '1' in it - all very difficult to see.I've checked all my emails - all empty. No RIM messages either. No BlackBerry World updates.Removed battery & rebooted.
Just got my 9700. All in all, I like it except the UI is horrific. The majority of the screen is taken up by the green stuff which serves absolutely no purpose and to get to the screen with all the icons I need to click on the BB button. Obviously, this is subjective and maybe people like this green stuff, but can someone tell me if there is a way to bypass this and have the screen with all the icons be my default? Perhaps someone wrote a theme or something like that?
On my BB Bold 9700 the font on the phone number dial line has changed after an OS update and does not match the font used on all apps on the device. Note I am only referencing the phone number input line Originally the font was the same as all other apps including other text display in the phone mode.
Is there a way to put operator logo instead of just text on the current network? Mine just say "AT&T" and when I had my iphone there was a way to put at&t globe logo next to the word.
I've had my BlackBerry Bold 9700 for more than 3 months.Lately, the icon's been getting stuck on my Main Screen. So, I always ended up uninstalling and reinstalling, and the problem would always get fixed. But last time I did that, my BlackBerry Messenger disappeared..I tried everything!..I looked through every single folder, ticked Show All, but nothing,I also went to Explore, showed hidden files, there was nothing I tried rebooting, deleting and reinstalling, also nothing..I also went on Desktop Manager, checked the Application Loader, and it's there, it's ticked.I checked Options > Applications > Add-on, and I can see that the BlackBerry Messenger is installed (Research In Motion Limited, version 5.0.1.38).My Device Software is updated, and when I check for updates, it says no updates available.I tried Security Wipe, but it's still not there..I tried to backup and restore as well, but nothing's changed
ok i just got my new 9700. how in the world do i move apps from in a folder to the main screen so i do not have to hunt them down everytime i want to use them.
i've had this happen to my 8900, and thought there was something wrong with the phone, but after doing a official update from t-mobile on mt 9700 the same thing happens. whe doing a battery pull and the phone reboots. only on the main screen (the screen with all the apps and folders) the screen is completely blank or white and the only way i can see the folders or apps is by highlighting them. only happened after i updated it and only happens when doing a battery pull, once i reset the wall paper it will be fine until i do another battery pull. i already uninstalled and reinstalled my blackberry desktop and try to reload and that didn't fix it. anyone had this issue or know how to fix it.
I am a relatively new crackberry user. My phone was working fine when I went to bed. I woke up to a white screen with text that said "JVM Error 517" and the word Reset underneath it. I have tried battery pulls but get the same message. When I plug into desktop mgr, It recognizes the phone but can never connect. I have only had it for about 65 days.
1. No email list on the main screen. In the settings, I have the following options (all names translated from the Polish interface, so original English names can be different) - "Email notification 1", "Email notification 2" and "Nokia Messaging email". The first two seem to refer to the default email program (not Messaging) - I cannot set any mailboxes for them ("There is no mailbox" error). "Nokia Messaging email" shows the "Set up e-mail" link on the main screen. With previous firmware and messaging I had another option "Nokia Intellisync" which triggered email list on the main screen. No such option anymore.
2. Email notifications are "on" in Messaging but when emails arrive there is only a sound. No icon (@) anywhere, no blinking.
i have downloaded facebook on my bb and it is the download folder.how do i put the facebook icon onto the main screen so i dont have to go round the world to access it.
when I set up a new email account and the new mail box icon comes on the screen i used to get a beep (tone) when the box would appear (this was on my 9000) now I would like to have a similar sound on this one but cant seem to find the settings
I organized my screen for hours on my BB8330, created some sub folders and put all icons in order. And, I lost my "Options" and "Compose" icons, which is like the most important ones! I read all suggestions here. It is not hidden, it is not in another folder, it just gone. Now when I change the Theme, I do see it, but all my work is gone, and I like my current Theme of Sprint. Any idea how to restore my lost icons on my current Theme? Look like a BB common problem.
I previously had the blackberry bold with the old software and I was able to have saved messages as an icon on my main screen, is there any way I can do this on my new torch, I cant seem to find a way to do it?
Please can someone help me about the symbol on C905. There is a H on the phone, but trying to look up at the user guide couldn't find it. can anyone tell me what does it mean?
I get the icon showing one message in my messages folder at the top pf the screen even though it is empty. A battery pull does not remove it. Can anyone help with this small problem
I've got this icon that I don't recall seeing when I originally purchased my phone. When dialing a number, there's a rectangle with diagonal stars(?) from left to right. This symbol is left of the speaker and volume icons.Does anyone know what this represents?
Recently got a blackberry bold 9700 as a gift. Noticed that a very tiny icon comes up near the upper left corner of the screen. Looks like a box or briefcase with a red circle on the top right corner of the icon, either with a white star or arrow in it. Its too small to say for sure. Can't find any answers in the manuals or online.
Getting "Uncaught exception:java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException" when trying to access text from main screen icon. I can still text if I access through contacts / recent activity if I've been texting them recently. I've tried power cycling but still get the error.
