I get the icon showing one message in my messages folder at the top pf the screen even though it is empty. A battery pull does not remove it. Can anyone help with this small problem
View 7 RepliesThe new message icon remains on the home screen even after the messages have been read. It also remains on the Message folder.I was told to remove the battery when the phone is "On" and re-insert it. The icon does disappear only to return when new messages arrive. Is there a permanent solution for this problem? This must be a software problem but no new software updates are available from RIM

View 10 Replies View RelatedI"ve had my bold 9700 for one month. The first 3 weeks were fine, all of a sudden, I keep getting the message icons at the top of the screen, but there are NO messages. I've deleted all messages, texts, phone calls etc., icon is still there. AT&T, nor the blackberry store seems to have a solution. I don't want to have to pull my battery every time this happens (multiple times per day).

View 14 Replies View RelatedRandomly, my bold restarted by itself (hasn't done this once since I upgraded the OS 3 months ago). Ever since it restarted, it's had the unread message icon saying I have 4 unread messages. I went to every folder and marked all prior unopened and checked to makesure nothing was unread. The icon wouldn't go away, it even stayed with the read star. Overnight, I got 6 new emails, so it told me I had 10 unread messages. I deleted the 6 new ones, and the icon is still there with the read star saying I have 10 unread now
Any ideas? I pulled the battery already twice and nothing
please help i have a bold 9700 and have the latest blackberry messenger on the phone. one day i turned it on and the icon at the top of the screen showed i had a new message. after looking everywhere there is no message to be found. after numerous battery pulls and resets the icon is still there. i even brought to ATT today and there reps couldn't help me.

I tried going into the messages, doing "Mark Prior Opened" and it still shows I have a text message. Then I deleted all my messages in the SMS/MMS icon and still shows I have a message. View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically when i go to my GMAIL folder when i receive emails, it shows no message. But it does appear in Message folder (both folders show the new mail counts). In the GMAIL folder if i change filter to label "Inbox" the new mail is there. The default label for GMAIL folder is "ALL MAIL" though. I don't have any filter setup so I'm not sure why the mail would only show up in Inbox but not in All Mail.

Right under that it says "*No Contacts*" And then there are like 5 empty spaces, and only then are the contacts. When I try to save a new contact, it occupies all the empty spaces, and I would have 5 straight contacts with the same name! help!!

Looks like a box or briefcase with a red circle on the top right corner of the icon, either with a white star or arrow in it. Its too small to say for sure. View 10 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a few application that I thought were demos of games, but turned out to just be links to the developer's website. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications.They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?

I have recently notice a small red icon next to the carrier (Orange) name at the top of my 9700's home screen. On close examination it appears to be a house icon. I can't find reference to it in any of the booklets or by Googling. (I've also noticed that when I'm in the office it goes white).

For example, I don't use the Facebook application due to preferring the mobile web based version but would like to open directly from the homepage if possible without opening the browser and selecting the bookmark.
I am having an Empty message (not Blank Message). It takes up the space of a text message but the recipient name or the message is not shown in inbox. When I tried to Open the message it said 'Unsupported message type'. This message is not even getting deleted saying 'Error occurred. Deletion not completed'. I got this problem already Twice. What happened further is, After sometimes more of such msgs starts to appear, and then suddenly all saved messages will get deleted.
Then all the applications (including basic applications like calculator) will get deleted. I gave to Nokia service centre. They just said it could be virus so they got my mobile, gave back (installing the software again I guess, I don't think they Cleaned Virus as told by them) and told me to use memory card after scanning. I scanned the card with the top antivirus - with up to date virus database. So I am very much sure there is no virus in my Memory card.
I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I woke this morning to see my Yahoo email icon back on my home screen. Has anyone else gotten it back? And lastly, how do I change it back to a stock BB icon?
