Recently, my Blackberry Bold 9700 showed that I have an SMS text message that is unread. I tried going into the messages, doing "Mark Prior Opened" and it still shows I have a text message. Then I deleted all my messages in the SMS/MMS icon and still shows I have a message. How can I get ride of this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days my blackberry has said i have an unread bbm message then yesterday it started to say I have 2. I`ve tried taking out the battery deleting all chats and messages on my phone and also deleting bbm all together and even when i did this it still said I had the unread messages. I have no group updates nor have I synced a blackberry messenger contact with an existing phonebook contact. The only thing I think it may be is someone I`ve deleted trying to contact be but I`ve removed all deleted contacts from my ignored list so why arn`t the chats showing up?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI"ve had my bold 9700 for one month. The first 3 weeks were fine, all of a sudden, I keep getting the message icons at the top of the screen, but there are NO messages. I've deleted all messages, texts, phone calls etc., icon is still there. AT&T, nor the blackberry store seems to have a solution. I don't want to have to pull my battery every time this happens (multiple times per day).

View 14 Replies View RelatedRandomly, my bold restarted by itself (hasn't done this once since I upgraded the OS 3 months ago). Ever since it restarted, it's had the unread message icon saying I have 4 unread messages. I went to every folder and marked all prior unopened and checked to makesure nothing was unread. The icon wouldn't go away, it even stayed with the read star. Overnight, I got 6 new emails, so it told me I had 10 unread messages. I deleted the 6 new ones, and the icon is still there with the read star saying I have 10 unread now
Any ideas? I pulled the battery already twice and nothing
please help i have a bold 9700 and have the latest blackberry messenger on the phone. one day i turned it on and the icon at the top of the screen showed i had a new message. after looking everywhere there is no message to be found. after numerous battery pulls and resets the icon is still there. i even brought to ATT today and there reps couldn't help me.

It also remains on the Message folder.I was told to remove the battery when the phone is "On" and re-insert it. The icon does disappear only to return when new messages arrive. Is there a permanent solution for this problem? This must be a software problem but no new software updates are available from RIM

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I delete an individual text message, the text goes but then the time and date that message was received remains on the summary screen - not in the conversation thread but on the screen where all your messages are. Example - I sent a text at 8:30 this morning. The last text sent before that was at 9:30 the previous night. So I deleted the text from this morning and the text went but on the front screen it has last nights text against this mornings time and date.

I tried sending a picture via text message. This didn't work and I got the message "Message cannot be sent" with that red frowny face. So I deleted the message from the conversation.The problem is, that this deleted message now seems to be stuck somewhere: when I go to the overview of conversations, the one I tried sending the picture now always has that red frowny face next to it, even though since then I was sending normal messages succerssfully. Also that sad frowny face sometimes comes up as a notification. I click on "clear", so it disappears, but then after a while it will come back.
I already cleares the cache for the "Messaging" and restarted the phone, but it's still there. Do you know how I can get rid of the red frowny face?
My Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if i've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference.

Lately (last week or 2) I get the new message icon displayed, but when I open my messages folder the red asterick goes away but the envolpe icon still is there and the count goes up. Currently it says 4 but I do not have any unread emails, nor any unread facebook messages. The only way to 'reset' this is a battrr pull. But then it starts generating again. I just updated 4.6.1.319 hoping this would help but sstill the same problems. If any other info is needed please let me know.

I have a Curve 8520, and suddenly tonight, I have a read message icon on the home screen that won't go away. I have no emails or messages at all on my phone anymore, and I cleared the messages from the advanced tab thingy on the desktop manager. I've done a battery pull, turned it off and waited a few minutes before turning it back on, and nothing has worked. I even tried sending a text message to my phone from my husband's, and it showed up as 2 messages on the icon, but when I deleted that new text msg, it went back down to 1 read message and is still there.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Bold is stuck on the boot screen (at about 75%). I've tried many battery pulls with and without the SIM and it keeps doing the same thing. I've searched what I think are all the threads on here relating to this, but I'm still stuck. I'm able to connect to the device if I run Loader.exe like a user suggested, but I don't know how/where to get software to load onto the device. All the places I've searched for an OS says I need to go into the device to find information about it. Well, I can't get into the device to do that. So, how do I know what OS to download and install? I really want to exhaust all possibilities before I have to completely wipe the device because I don't have a current backup. But, even if I wipe the device, I'm going to need to download an OS which I can't do now.

All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?
