Jan 22, 2011I bought an HTC Desire about a month ago, and it's been working great so far. However, for the past couple of weeks, I noticed that I'm unable to send texts over the 160 character limit. Before, it used to just continue onto another separate text, which would both be simultaneously sent and would be received. Just to make sure that my texts aren't being lost, I changed my text settings to notify me if a text was sent through successfully; if I try to send a text over the 160 limit, the notification doesn't come up at all (not even to say that it failed), and my friends tell me that it says that the SMS says its "incomplete" and they can't read anything.

May 9, 2012In the past two days I've missed multiple incoming text messges and at least two outgoing texts were not delivered. I'm on AT&T with an iPhone 4S. The three other phones are not AT&T, but one is also an iPhone 4S. The missed incoming texts was from the iPhone 4S was sent as an iMessage with the blue bubble & "delivered" underneath. I restarted my phone three days ago & again this morning. I have sent and received other texts and calls during the timeframe. Is this a network or iPhone issue?

how I would accomplish this through backing up my device? From what I understand, if you backup your device, deleted texts are included in the backup file. If I were to restore my iPhone using this backup file, would the previously deleted texts now show back up on the phone? This is the part I don't fully understand.

Jun 28, 2012I was having problems downloading from the app store (which another thread resolution solved for me) but in the midst of working on this issue, a friend suggested I do a hard reset on the phone by holding the top power button and the little dot on the front until it just shut off. I did this and I come back to none of my text messages. They have all been deleted. I can't find anything on the forums about this.
I am not sure I particularly care, meaning I don't think I had too much in the way of important information contained in them, but it wasn't supposed to do that so that's a bit annoying to me. Why did my phone do something it wasn't supposed to do?

May 4, 2015The first 6 months with the G3 were fine but lately I'm not receiving like 5% of my texts. The ones im not getting are from various users. I'll get the first 5 texts from them, then I'll miss one. No problem sending. I swapped the SIM and did a few FDR and still haven't cleared the issue.

May 15, 2011Today my Blackberry Curve 8310 deleted all of my received text messages. It also did this (deleted the all of the received messages) about 2 days ago. I don't know why or what keeps happening. I will go to look at a text message and they will all be gone. Only the incoming texts are deleted, the outgoing/sent ones always remain and so do emails. I have lost a ton of important, irreplaceable texts (including those which had pictures attached). This keeps occurring for no apparent reason. When this happens I hadn't turned my phone off or taken the battery out.
I have my setting as follows under Inbox: Options; General Options: Keep Message Forever.

Example - I sent a text at 8:30 this morning. The last text sent before that was at 9:30 the previous night. So I deleted the text from this morning and the text went but on the front screen it has last nights text against this mornings time and date.

BB Curve 8520/8530 :: How Long Can You Keep SMS / MMS Texts Before Inbox Is Full?
May 18, 2010I'm about to switch over to the 8530 and I was just wondering how long you can keep sms/mms texts in your inbox until it becomes "full" and no longer accepts incoming texts (or if that even happens). I had a voyager way before my BBs and I remember when my texts would start getting around 100, it would prompt me with a message saying "Inbox is 80% full. Delete messages..." And I don't know how this works for the bb. And because of the 5.0 threaded sms software, I'll feel prompted to keep the texts longer instead of deleting them every night because it'll be threaded, not messy...
My other question is, (obviously I haven't used my 8530 yet), When you get a text, does that thread move to the top of the inbox or do you have to scroll through and look through all of the people in your inbox to see which one is new? How is the set-up/how does it work.

Jul 3, 2012Is text messaging. If I try to send an outgoing text at the same time that one is incoming it will not send the outgoing message. It will struggle for about 30 seconds to 1 minute (or even more) and eventually time out with a 'text was not sent' error message. For someone like me who sends thousands of texts a month it's the most annoying thing ever! Other phones do not have this problem.
Also the time stamp for texts does not work if the phone is powered off. For example: I turn my phone off at midnight and someone sends me a text at 1:00 AM. I turn my phone back on at 8AM. The text arrives but does not have the correct time stamp as being sent at 1:00 AM. It will be shown as 8AM. So I have no idea what time the message was actually sent. Once again other phones I have used did not have this problem.
