BB Bold 9700 :: Deleted All SMS Texts But Icon Stuck On Saying One New Message
Apr 19, 2010Recently, my Blackberry Bold 9700 showed that I have an SMS text message that is unread. I tried going into the messages, doing "Mark Prior Opened" and it still shows I have a text message. Then I deleted all my messages in the SMS/MMS icon and still shows I have a message. How can I get ride of this?

Mar 24, 2010My phone locks up for a good 30 seconds or more since I've installed this OS.HOW DO I FIX THIS? I can't view my calender from the AGENDA View & it's killing my productivity. 30+ secs just to get to the calender app, then another 30+ secs to make an entry or find a previous one.

Dec 20, 2011My battery died yesterday, and when it finally recharged today, I couldn't see text that I've sent/ that I've received. If i go to messages > sms inbox, I can see the messages, but when I expand them, it turns to a blank conversation window.
When I text, I also have no confirmation whether I got it or not. I've tried restoring my data, but it still remained the same.
edit: when I turned the phone on for the first time, it displayed a 'integer error 7 >= 7 (or something like that)' message.

Feb 20, 2010I've got the Bold 9000, and I'm using OS 5.0 (5.0.0.464).My sister went in my phone and deleted ALL my text messages, I've checked SMS Inbox and SMS Outbox, and all the folders, and I didn't have the option selected to save SMS to Sim Card, so no SMS's there.Is there any way at all to retrieve my deleted text conversations? Any hidden folders or logs or anything in the phone's software files to retrieve the texts?

Mar 10, 2010regarding the bold 9700; on the old blackberrys, the SMS screen was set out in an email format when conversations were viewed.now this looked like the new blackberry messenger set up with the blue and white bubbles..is this the same with everybodies and is there anyway i can change it back to the old format?

Jan 28, 2010Since I did the OS 5 upgrade, i've noticed 2 very annoying bugs, I have looked through the forum and see no other mention of it. I wonder if anyone else has too?
1) You get an SMS and open it, and can be writing a reply and suddenly the message you were seeing above your reply Disappears! You have to come up one level, then back in to see the message.
2) Even worse than above sometimes, when you try to view an SMS from the list of messages/recipients, you are unable to open the message, so you can only see the first few words the only way to get the thread open again is to start composing a new SMS to that person, and then when the write message field opens, you can see previous message above.
I must admit, my love for the 9700 has diminished because of this. My Curve 8900 didn't have these issues and I'm beginning to think the upgrade was not worth it.

May 12, 2010I've been playing with my new Bold and am getting the hang of things, got most of my stuff on it and preferences sorted, I feel like the menus are endless though and will take a while to figure out all the shortcuts! But I'm loving it!My question is about my hotmail account.
When I send messages from the BB they do not appear in my outlook 07 and vice versa, is there a way to make it do this?I would also like to get all of my old message from outlook (pre BB) onto the BB for reference, is this possible?

Jul 18, 2010I am facing this particular issue with my 9700 for the last two days or so.
I have following three mail accounts configured with my device;
1) Enterprise/ Office Mail ID (Folder Named as Desktop)
2) Yahoo Mail ID (Folder Named as Yahoo)
3) GMail ID (Folder Named as GMail)
Now in the Messages, Yahoo & SMS Folders; I am only able to view the mails from office mail id. The Messages folder which ideally comprise of messages from all the folders shows only the messages of the Desktop. Similarly for the Yahoo Folder. I am even not able to view my SMS in the SMS & MMS Folder.

Apr 10, 2010My texts are doing strange things for some reason. For example, when my daughter sends me a text it only comes up as her phone number, not her name. Also, I get a new text and it will not open unless I go and open the one before it, close it and then open the new one. Is this something only my Bold is doing? I did a search and did not come up with much. Any help would be great. It is not a huge deal and I have been dealing with it for some time but it is lame. Oh, it is not only my daughter who is also a Tmo customer but a friend on Sprint is also coming up as a number and not her name.

Mar 26, 2010I keep getting messages from numbers that aren't even real phone numbers. They start with 9 and are 7 digits long (no area code). I get a few a day, usually at night. They look something like this:

Any help? I've had this problem with all my blackberrys so I'd imagine it's something with my SIM card (I am with the Rogers network)

Sep 8, 2010For some reason I am missing emoticons in my SMS texting. If I am writing an SMS and click "add smiley" not all of them show up, but they do show up in blackberry messanger. For example if I wanted to click on the "yawning" emoticon or the "can't watch" emoticon to use in an SMS i can't because it doesn't appear as an option, but it will appear in a blackberry messenger message.In blackberry messenger, it shows I have 45 different emoticons I can use, but in an SMS text, it only shows I have 30 emoticons. Jan 19, 2010I am a new 9700 user and am struggling a bit with SMS converstations with contacts who are also in my BB Messenger list.These conversations are showing as collapsed in the SMS view. They also appear in the BB Messenger conversations view but if I restart the handset they disappear from there and only appear in the SMS view.
I have attached an image of a "collapsed" SMS message. Look carefully at the blue horizontal line directly above Mon 18 Jan 2010. If I click on this, the conversation expands.Any thoughts on how I can prevent this from happening and have all SMS conversations visible. Ideally I would like to keep SMS and BB Messenger chats separate but am struggling to do this even after removing the link between the BB Messenger contact and the contact in my address book.

Aug 8, 2010I was over at my sister's home. She decided to take a crack at guessing my blackberry password... 10 times. Ultimately she ended up clearing about 4 months worth of text messages, and contacts, the photos however remained unscathed.This lead me to wonder;
1. What is affected by a memory wipe.
2. Whether it's actually called a memory wipe, when someone enters your password wrong too many times.
3. Is there any way to get my contacts back?
4. Is there any way to get my saved texts back.Before I go on, I realize that this phone was and is designed specifically for business, I don't expect that there would be a way to get this information back, as that would defeat the purpose of a memory wipe in the first place.
5. How and where can I install the desktop manager? I've only been using my BB how it came out from the box because the CD included tends to freeze / crash my computer.
6. Why is it that the photos remain on the phone? 7. Before the memory wipe, my SIM card had enough space to hold tens of thousands of text messages, now after the wipe, and just another 10 - 20 texts, it constantly says "The SIM card is full." this is what got me HOPING, PRAYING, that somehow, my data was still in there somewhere.
Finally, thank you for taking the time to read through this, if you have an answer or a thought on any of the above, please feel free to post it. I need all the help I can get. (New to BB, New to forums, I might as well right "Lost" on my forehead and walk around this website.

Jul 1, 2010I did a forum search for my problem, and couldn't find an answer for my specific issue, which is this:My AT&T 9700 worked great until about a month ago, when it started to freeze while I was text messaging. Looking through the forums here, I noticed that it was happening when I had large numbers of saved texts, and I started deleting the threaded messages so that I was never over about 20-25 texts per person. That solved the problem for 2 weeks.Last week, I started deleting all text messages beyond 15 texts, total, and still I have the issue. I just had the phone freeze and refuse to allow me into the threaded portion of the text after just 3 texts (2 from my wife and 1 from me)!Does anyone else have this problem? I have done the following as well, in order:
Battery pull
Factory reset, no additional applications
Upgraded to the latest AT&T approved OS (5.0.0.602?)

Each time, the problem has recurred. I never have less than 105MB of application memory available.
I run my practice via email and text messages when I am (frequently) out of the office, so this is becoming a critical issue for me. Ideas?
BB Bold 9700 :: Sending Texts To Only Couple Contacts
Aug 4, 2010i have a bold 9700, version 5.1.0.146, recently i have had issues sending texts to only a couple contacts, always in a certain time frame of the night after midnight. my time. I can send and recieve texts from other contacts. It is not this other persons phone.I have tried both reset options numerous times, i do notice once the phone comes back on i have new messages, that are actually old already read messages. So it seems the memory is goofy. i have changed my text delete time from 30 days to 15 days, and have cleaned up some memory in other areas. After midnight i seem to also get old messages poping up at the bottom of the screen as if they were just recieved. its sooooo weird! someone please help its getting very annoying.

Jun 28, 2010I have a blackberry bold 9700 and its been fine for a month or so, all of a sudden after it has been working fine in the morning it stopped calling and sending texts, i cant receive anything either.
BBM works fine, internet works fine and email its just the calls and texts in and out????
I have restored the phone and done all necessary updates but it still doesn't work, the SIM card is fine as ive put it in another phone and it does everything it should.
BB Bold 9700 :: Calender Loop Issues In Agenda View
Jul 20, 2010I have got a Blackberry 9700 infront of me. When you go into the calender and scroll down the dates (in Agenda View) it seems to be stuck in a loop. For example today is the 21st you scroll down to the 24th then it loops back to either 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th or 21st again and again repeats this.
I have already wiped the handheld and reactivated on the BES. I have Issued a new 9700 and activated with the BES. I have Contacted out service providers and completed a sim replacement aswell as got them to ensure all settings were correct. I have removed the user from the BES and Readded, setting up all groups and policies needed. I have replicated all settings with a working blackberry.
