regarding the bold 9700; on the old blackberrys, the SMS screen was set out in an email format when conversations were viewed.now this looked like the new blackberry messenger set up with the blue and white bubbles..is this the same with everybodies and is there anyway i can change it back to the old format?
My phone locks up for a good 30 seconds or more since I've installed this OS.HOW DO I FIX THIS? I can't view my calender from the AGENDA View & it's killing my productivity. 30+ secs just to get to the calender app, then another 30+ secs to make an entry or find a previous one.
Since I did the OS 5 upgrade, i've noticed 2 very annoying bugs, I have looked through the forum and see no other mention of it. I wonder if anyone else has too?
1) You get an SMS and open it, and can be writing a reply and suddenly the message you were seeing above your reply Disappears! You have to come up one level, then back in to see the message. 2) Even worse than above sometimes, when you try to view an SMS from the list of messages/recipients, you are unable to open the message, so you can only see the first few words the only way to get the thread open again is to start composing a new SMS to that person, and then when the write message field opens, you can see previous message above.
I must admit, my love for the 9700 has diminished because of this. My Curve 8900 didn't have these issues and I'm beginning to think the upgrade was not worth it.
For a BlackBerry 9700 Bold: What name or information of the sender (besides phone number), if any, is viewable by a SMS or MMS recipient? Does it make a difference if the senders name and phone number is in their contact list?
I've been playing with my new Bold and am getting the hang of things, got most of my stuff on it and preferences sorted, I feel like the menus are endless though and will take a while to figure out all the shortcuts! But I'm loving it!My question is about my hotmail account. When I send messages from the BB they do not appear in my outlook 07 and vice versa, is there a way to make it do this?I would also like to get all of my old message from outlook (pre BB) onto the BB for reference, is this possible?
i bought black berry 9700 bold and i like it but i have a problem that i cant view some numbers and information in some websites (it doesnt show but in my computer everything is ok )for example in this website i cant see some of the information www.msm.gov.com...like what under the gainers list
I am facing this particular issue with my 9700 for the last two days or so.
I have following three mail accounts configured with my device;
1) Enterprise/ Office Mail ID (Folder Named as Desktop)
2) Yahoo Mail ID (Folder Named as Yahoo)
3) GMail ID (Folder Named as GMail)
Now in the Messages, Yahoo & SMS Folders; I am only able to view the mails from office mail id. The Messages folder which ideally comprise of messages from all the folders shows only the messages of the Desktop. Similarly for the Yahoo Folder. I am even not able to view my SMS in the SMS & MMS Folder.
is it possible to view my text messages or emails on my computer when i connect my blackberry? for example, if i want to print out a conversation i had with someone, how can i do that?
I am a new 9700 user and am struggling a bit with SMS converstations with contacts who are also in my BB Messenger list. These conversations are showing as collapsed in the SMS view. They also appear in the BB Messenger conversations view but if I restart the handset they disappear from there and only appear in the SMS view.
I have attached an image of a "collapsed" SMS message. Look carefully at the blue horizontal line directly above Mon 18 Jan 2010. If I click on this, the conversation expands.Any thoughts on how I can prevent this from happening and have all SMS conversations visible. Ideally I would like to keep SMS and BB Messenger chats separate but am struggling to do this even after removing the link between the BB Messenger contact and the contact in my address book.

I have got a Blackberry 9700 infront of me. When you go into the calender and scroll down the dates (in Agenda View) it seems to be stuck in a loop. For example today is the 21st you scroll down to the 24th then it loops back to either 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th or 21st again and again repeats this.
I have already wiped the handheld and reactivated on the BES. I have Issued a new 9700 and activated with the BES. I have Contacted out service providers and completed a sim replacement aswell as got them to ensure all settings were correct. I have removed the user from the BES and Readded, setting up all groups and policies needed. I have replicated all settings with a working blackberry.
Any picture I take save of have already had on my phone won't allow me to view it in the media folder. Even the sample pics won't give me any options. If I push down on the trackpad or hit the blackberry (menu) button it just sits there. Music, vids, ringtones, everything else works fine. Tried reformatting the card and repairing it and nuthing happened. I'm going to download the current OS for at&t and see if that works. I'm on a bold 9700 on at&t running 5.0.0.405. The only thing that I think has happened between the last time I was able to view a picture was I told it to do a wirelees update and the firmware update completed successfully. Anybody have any other ideas?
Blackberry 9700 V5.0.0.423 (Platform 5.1.0.116) Vodafone UK Microsoft Outlook (Windows XP)I'm wondering if anyone has a fix for this issue? if i have a calendar entry which is "all day" or a calendar entry which spans across multiple days, they display on the week and month view, and "day" view, but NOT on agenda view?! for example, if i create an entry of "trade show" starting feb 1st, ending feb 10th, i see it in outlook, but when its sync'd it only shows on day week or month not agenda. i have tried.1/ a few battery out resets 2/ updating to latest blackberry core apps 3/ completely clearing calendar database, and re-syncing fresh 4/ creating the appointments *On* the blackberry instead. There doesnt appear to be any patches or fixes for this? i have had blackberries before (the previous bold, etc) which were all runing os 4.x and it was never an issue! would be great if anyone has found a solution for this.
My 9700 recently started not letting me view my new text messages. For example, sometimes I get forwarded chain texts and it won't let me view them, it'll show a random block of text and that's it. And if I try to reply to it, it won't show me my reply, it's only doing this with a few contacts, but it's still extremely annoying.I've tried uninstalling my third party apps and it didn't fix it, is it a setting I have to change or does anyone know anything?
I'm having two issues with texting on my Blackberry Bold 9700.
1-I can't send or receive texts from certain contacts (right now it only seems to be from my boyfriend, we're both on At&t).
2-My text threads lock-up. A new text comes in, but I can't actually open the message. I can open all the previous messages, but any message at the top won't open.
My Bold is stuck on the boot screen (at about 75%). I've tried many battery pulls with and without the SIM and it keeps doing the same thing. I've searched what I think are all the threads on here relating to this, but I'm still stuck. I'm able to connect to the device if I run Loader.exe like a user suggested, but I don't know how/where to get software to load onto the device. All the places I've searched for an OS says I need to go into the device to find information about it. Well, I can't get into the device to do that. So, how do I know what OS to download and install? I really want to exhaust all possibilities before I have to completely wipe the device because I don't have a current backup. But, even if I wipe the device, I'm going to need to download an OS which I can't do now.
Apologies if this was already threaded. I know that many people each have their own preferences but it seemed like for the most part people liked the bigger screen that the 9000 offered. Why did RIM reduce the screen size for the 9700? Will we ever see a blackberry (besides touchscreens) that will have a bigger size again??
This should be easy but has me baffled. To get to Shazam I have to go to app world and then to my world. I want to have it on my home screen but I can't figure out how to move it. Thanks in advance.
Whenever I press the side volume buttons on my 9700, the screen looks like its being pressed on the side a little ripples show up. I was wondering if anyone elses 9700 does this as well?
My LCD screen recntly broke for my bb bold 9700.I ordered one off ebay, not knowing that there were several screen versions for the same phone.I disposed the broken one, installed the new one, and did not work.I took it to a repair center to see if they could help me out but they need the original version of the screen so that they can replace it.The problem is that I dont have the old screen so I cant tell them which version was it.is there any way I can tell which screen version my bb is intended to use without having the original screen? maybe be SN? bb model?
I'm a n00b so I apologize in advance, but I just bought my Blackberry Bold and really dig this phone. However, I want to add more icons to the home screen other than the 5 that are currently on there. How do I do this? I am currently using the "Widescreen HD 9700 O550" theme (which looks really nice).I just switched over from the G1/Android OS so I am still learning my way around the Blackberry.
This has just started happening the last two weeks or so. When I turn the screen off, or when the phone turns the screen off after one minute, it shortly turns back on again. The only thing that will fix this for about two days or so, is a battery pull. Anyone have this issue? I am using Build 862
I've gone into my settings and told it to turn off the backlight after 30 seconds, but for the past few days my phone has just ignored the settings and never ever turns off the backlight.
