Sep 4, 2010I have added my hotmail address in my blackberry bold 9700. I seem to have a problem with images in my emails. They do not appear. I have all the features enabled html etc but still no use. When I press get images from the menu it still does not work.

Jul 1, 2010So I had my Get Images option in my email disappear about a month or two ago, and I haven't seen it since.I can't remember changing anything, my HTML is enabled, my "Download Images Automatically" option is enabled.I tried resending service books, and I have the latest software/firmware version, but nothing.I can see HTML formatting in the email (like coloured backgrounds, formatted text, etc, but no images, I don't get the option to "Get Images" either when I press the BB key. The only options I get is More, More All and Get Plain Text.

Sep 1, 2010I moved to BlackBerry Bold 9700 about two weeks ago. Everything works great, except for one issue. Images in my HTML email messages don't download. I have tried all combinations of settings on automatically download images and confirm images download, in the Options > Email Settings menu. What happens is: When I hard reset the phone (take out the battery and reinsert it), and then do Get Images, images download. However, this continues only for some 3-4 hours, or say about 10-15 messages. After a point, Get Images doesn't download images. Even the arrows on the top right of the screen, that indicate an attempt to download, don't come. It almost seems like the phone has kept a limited space aside to download images in HTML messages, and this space is filled up and hence it stops downloading. The moment the battery is taken out and reinserted, Get Images works. But again for some time only.Tried taking Vodafone's help. They updated my Service Book, which according to them is the "standard solution" to Images downloading problem. But nothing happened. Which is expected, because they were possibly giving me a solution for images never downloading. In my case, they download for a bit, and then refuse to, till hard reset.Tried finding where any memory related settings could be there. Found a thing in Settings > Memory > Compression. Tried both Enabled and Disabled, it doesn't help.

Jul 10, 2010I just purchased a new Bold 2 (9700), and I found out that the thing is showing all decimal points as "decimal commas". I'm in Mexico, not Spain, and we use the US decimal point system, that is using decimal POINTS and not COMMAS. How can I switch the BB to use commas? This wasn't a problem on BB OS 4.6 on the Bold 9000... in fact, this is the first time I see my BB using the goofy comma system.

Mar 24, 20101: when i send some images or files, i always have to wait that the receiver accept the file... how can we change this option... and go back with the old style? I understood that this is a "problem" of the new version of BB messenger.
If i send an image to a contact who still have an old model (es BB 8300) with the old software, on my phone is displayed "file sent" straight, without any wait. Instead if i send an image to someone who has a new software, i have to choose the size of the image, and wait for his acceptance. And i also saw that if a contact doesn't accept the file immediately, after some time (really i cannot say how many time), there is a kind of time out of the sending (displayed on his phone)...how is it possible (on my phone was always displayed "waiting for acceptance")? How can i cancel this option?
2: with the old software if someone didn't read a message, a clock appeared on the face of the contact, and then i usually set the advice, to know when he read the message thanks to the sound. With the new software instead, i saw you can just set the advice only if the contact is Unavailable.

Mar 10, 2010regarding the bold 9700; on the old blackberrys, the SMS screen was set out in an email format when conversations were viewed.now this looked like the new blackberry messenger set up with the blue and white bubbles..is this the same with everybodies and is there anyway i can change it back to the old format?

Jan 28, 2010Since I did the OS 5 upgrade, i've noticed 2 very annoying bugs, I have looked through the forum and see no other mention of it. I wonder if anyone else has too?
1) You get an SMS and open it, and can be writing a reply and suddenly the message you were seeing above your reply Disappears! You have to come up one level, then back in to see the message.
2) Even worse than above sometimes, when you try to view an SMS from the list of messages/recipients, you are unable to open the message, so you can only see the first few words the only way to get the thread open again is to start composing a new SMS to that person, and then when the write message field opens, you can see previous message above.
I must admit, my love for the 9700 has diminished because of this. My Curve 8900 didn't have these issues and I'm beginning to think the upgrade was not worth it.

May 12, 2010I've been playing with my new Bold and am getting the hang of things, got most of my stuff on it and preferences sorted, I feel like the menus are endless though and will take a while to figure out all the shortcuts! But I'm loving it!My question is about my hotmail account.

Jul 18, 2010I am facing this particular issue with my 9700 for the last two days or so.
I have following three mail accounts configured with my device;
1) Enterprise/ Office Mail ID (Folder Named as Desktop)
2) Yahoo Mail ID (Folder Named as Yahoo)
3) GMail ID (Folder Named as GMail)
Now in the Messages, Yahoo & SMS Folders; I am only able to view the mails from office mail id. The Messages folder which ideally comprise of messages from all the folders shows only the messages of the Desktop. Similarly for the Yahoo Folder. I am even not able to view my SMS in the SMS & MMS Folder.

They also appear in the BB Messenger conversations view but if I restart the handset they disappear from there and only appear in the SMS view.
I have attached an image of a "collapsed" SMS message. Look carefully at the blue horizontal line directly above Mon 18 Jan 2010. If I click on this, the conversation expands.Any thoughts on how I can prevent this from happening and have all SMS conversations visible. Ideally I would like to keep SMS and BB Messenger chats separate but am struggling to do this even after removing the link between the BB Messenger contact and the contact in my address book.
