BB Bold 9700 :: Enable HTML Email Turned On?
Mar 26, 2010Apologies if this has been asked before. When I get an HTML email with images, the images show up as attachments. I have "Enable HTML Email" turned on. I am running 5.0.0.330, I have no idea what version of BES we are on.

Jul 23, 2011This used to work on my Droid and Droid 2. I receive an HTML email, which appears as 3 attachments, 2 text and one HTML. If I click on either of the TXT attachments I'm offered the choice of HTML Viewer or QuickOffice to view them. However when I click on the HTML attachment (the actual mail body) it goes straight to the browser, which tries to opencontent://com.motorola.blur.service.email.engine.EmailProvider/bodyparts/file/3/329_5.attand drops me into a google search browser window "did not match any documents". IOW it cannot find that file/location.
It's as if the email tool is creating an address (storage location) for the attachment that the browser doesn't recognize; or that it is creating one but passing a different handle to the HTML reader. Over a variety of emails the pattern is .../file/x/yyy_5.att.sing "Files" I can't find anything that looks like these attachment files, apparently it is below user visibility. can save the attachment into Messages then view it with the HTML Viewer; but I don't want to do that a dozen times a day.

Sep 1, 2010I moved to BlackBerry Bold 9700 about two weeks ago. Everything works great, except for one issue. Images in my HTML email messages don't download. I have tried all combinations of settings on automatically download images and confirm images download, in the Options > Email Settings menu. What happens is: When I hard reset the phone (take out the battery and reinsert it), and then do Get Images, images download. However, this continues only for some 3-4 hours, or say about 10-15 messages. After a point, Get Images doesn't download images. Even the arrows on the top right of the screen, that indicate an attempt to download, don't come. It almost seems like the phone has kept a limited space aside to download images in HTML messages, and this space is filled up and hence it stops downloading. The moment the battery is taken out and reinserted, Get Images works. But again for some time only.Tried taking Vodafone's help. They updated my Service Book, which according to them is the "standard solution" to Images downloading problem. But nothing happened. Which is expected, because they were possibly giving me a solution for images never downloading. In my case, they download for a bit, and then refuse to, till hard reset.Tried finding where any memory related settings could be there. Found a thing in Settings > Memory > Compression. Tried both Enabled and Disabled, it doesn't help.

So, I went to "Manage Email Settings" and tried to connect, but got "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue." Jan 19, 2010I downloaded a few application that I thought were demos of games, but turned out to just be links to the developer's website. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications.They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?

May 25, 2010I am trying to upgrade my BB Bold 9700 via the blackberry automatic web site. I also have downloaded the 9700 software from TMobile. I have upgraded and restored my BB9700 3x now and each time after upgrading, it prompts that my SIM card is invalid, and thus I do not get any service. I can restore my BB9700 to an older version, then everything works just fine. I don't get why I am unable to upgrade to the newest 5.0 software though?
I've tried the upgrade via the Desktop Software...
I've tried the upgrade via the Blackberry Website auto update button...
I've tried the upgrade via TMobile's bbugrade site as well...
All tries do the same, my SIM card after the upgrades is "Invalid"...Does anyone have any answers on how to fix this, or do I have to stay with the older versions to keep my phone working.

Feb 6, 2012I have been using my device without any problems, but yesterday I received a message saying that an upgrade to my Blackberry software was available. Foolishly, I agreed to it. The upgrade erased all of my settings and wiped out my photos. The upgrade set things so that the device was acting as a brand new device.
After hours of struggle, I was able to reset everything EXCEPT for my link to my earthlink email. When I go into the email setup wizard, I am asked to enter my email password. The email address is already there. When I enter the password, I get the message, "Sorry, unable to continue your session. Please log in again."

I'm in Mexico, not Spain, and we use the US decimal point system, that is using decimal POINTS and not COMMAS. How can I switch the BB to use commas? Aug 6, 2010It used to work great, but now the bb maps app can't find any gps (except once in a while it works?!?!?).I've wiped the device, exchanged it, r&r'd the maps app, still no go. Google maps finds my location instantly, but bbmaps does not. I've reset the gps info and it consistently sees 5 - 9 satellites (sees 8 right now), still bbmaps is a no go.

BB Bold :: Upgrading 9700 - DM Cannot Find New OS 6
Mar 23, 2012I have problems with upgrading my BB 9700 to new ver. OS6. I've download fresh DM and new OS .723. I've installed everything, turn off internet connection also turn off mass storage in BB, connect BB to computer and run DM, and nothing happened. DM can't find new OS. Vendor file was deleted before I run DM. So I've tried use app loader but app loader cant see OS too!
When I choose right OS by add app, it gives me that the OS is not compatible to my BB. So I download new one, but the problem still appear. I have problem with upgrade os 5 to 6 too. Wiped BB and system can't find new OS. Fortunately DM find the OS by it self in internet (6...668). I need to upgrade it because I have only 1 language in my phone and no apps. I cant load it by app loader because app loader can see it as right to mu BB.
