I noticed today when I got home that none of my email had come through on my BB. I did a battery pull. So, I went to "Manage Email Settings" and tried to connect, but got "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue." Update - I just checked my device manager and it says I'm disconnected. It says "COM3/Disconnected" to be exact.

When i first got my bb9700 i added my hotmail account and everything was working fine but i deleted my mistake and now when i tryed adding it again i get this msg sent to my phone. If you use an email client (e.g. Microsoft(R) Outlook(R), Mozilla(R) Thunderbird(TM), etc.) to access your avibassi91@hotmail.com messages, change your email client settings to leave your email messages on the server. If the email client does not leave email messages on the server, the BlackBerry(R) Internet Service may not be able to deliver them to your BlackBerry(R) device. To leave email messages on your email server you may need to complete the following steps:
1. In your email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) on your computer, under Tools or Mail > Preferences.
2. Select your email account.
3. Locate advanced, server settings or options.
4. Select the option to leave email messages on the server.

I have 3 accounts that run off the hotmail server, yet I can NOT get my phone to sync up with the server to delete my messages from the inbox and the phone. I even tried going back to my 8320 and the messages were deleted off the hotmail server. I'm so frustrated with the 9700 not working. Any one know how to fix this issue!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a curve 8310 on o2 and moved to a bold 9700 still on o2.When i moved i used the desktop manager and did the device switch over, all went well including bbm etc.However whenever i tried to send an email i recieved the error message 'transaction error failure at service' - I tried to log into my bis account online to update my pin but i couldnt log on! i havent changed the password or username since my old blackberry so i cant log on to change it online. on my blackberry when i try to log on to email settings it says the username field is blank!
i called o2 they put me through to geek squad and wanted to charge me to help!!! View 7 Replies View RelatedI am based in the UK and I am having problems setting up email on my blackberry bold 9700.I have 2 email accounts, both of which come up with 'username and/or password invalid'. My first and main account is with hotmail.co.uk, my second account is with googlemail.com.It might be important to note that my password for both is the same, but I dont see this as an issue as it consits of only letters and numbers.Also, my girlfriend input her hotmail.com account and it worked fine. So why does it work for her and not me?! I have tried to get a hotmail.com account but for some reason only hotmail.co.uk and live.co.uk are the only options for new email accounts here.This problem is also reflected in the Facebook application, whereas my girlfriend input her facebook username (which is her hotmail.com address) and it worked. When I input my Facebook username (my hotmail.co.uk address) it says that this is invalid!It is sooo frustrating and as a new blackberry user I feel a bit out of my depth

My email addresses are listed and I have the option to verify the passwords but every time I enter the correct password I get a message that says "Sorry, unable to continue your session. Please log in again." The only options I have when dealing with my email addresses is to verify the password. I cannot add an account and I cannot delete an account. There is no option to edit. Essentially there are no options at all except to verify passwords. When I open the menu I get switch application, help and close. Nothing else.
