BB 9700 i cannot receive texts but i can send them BBM works fine , was on the phone with T-Mob for almost 3 hours their stumped , they wrote up a trouble ticket 72 hours will be up tonight ,they say engineering is working on it.This is my third 9700 since it was released in November this has been going on for almost a week and a half
View 4 Repliesfor the entire time I have had AT&T I have been unable to send MMS messages. I've called AT&T and they've assured me that my MMS is set up correctly on their end. They even cancelled my plan and re set up my account multiple times. I use a 9700 now and previously had an unlocked storm that was unable to send or recieve MMS as well. I've tried swapping my SIM and my bold multiple times and no matter what, I receive the same errors. When I attempt to send an MMS (wether its just text, audio or pictures) I recieve the error message "failed to send message". When I recieve a MMS I recieve the message "go to viewmymessages.com to view this message" I can then pull the message up but its sorta a pain to constantly view my mms messages that way. Anyone got any ideas?

View 9 Replies View RelatedRandomly, my BB will start sending/recieving data (the rx/tx arrows constantly changing back and forth) and the entire phone will lock up. None of the buttons work, it wont respond to anything for about 2-4 mins. Then everything returns to normal. I notice it most in the facebook app or Viigo, mostly because thats when im scrolling a lot. Occasionally, the last button pressed will register after it wakes up from its coma, ie, if i press the back button when its frozen, and nothing after that, when it wakes up, it will *sometimes* register the button. I never get any messages or anything when its doing this.

When I attempt to send something, I get the check mark beside the message confirming it was sent, but they are not being delivered and I am no receiving messages.
Which settings do I need to check? I know it has the latest software. I updated it today.
i receive very creepy texts. They appear out of nowhere on Black screen, and You Can only push "Okay" to it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a pearl 8100 which has worked great until recently. I have not been able to make or recieve any calls, or send and recieve any texts. The only thing i have to go on is a flashing blue arrow on the top right hand corner. It usually doesnt come on until i try to make a call which always results in a call fail. Not sure if this is relevant or not, but the phone is unlocked. It was originally from T-mobile, and its currently on ATT's network.Things I've tried.
-Hard reset
-Memory reset
-Turning off the radio signal and back on
-firmware is up to date
I'm not sure what information is necessary to solve the problem, but if you need to know anything just lemme know.
Is there a way to put all the texts together instead of each one being separate for example when i text my wife she send me five and i send her one, on my screen it will show each one separate on the text screen. Is there a way to combined all of them together on the main screen?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy texts are doing strange things for some reason. For example, when my daughter sends me a text it only comes up as her phone number, not her name. Also, I get a new text and it will not open unless I go and open the one before it, close it and then open the new one. Is this something only my Bold is doing? I did a search and did not come up with much. Any help would be great. It is not a huge deal and I have been dealing with it for some time but it is lame. Oh, it is not only my daughter who is also a Tmo customer but a friend on Sprint is also coming up as a number and not her name.

For some reason I am missing emoticons in my SMS texting. If I am writing an SMS and click "add smiley" not all of them show up, but they do show up in blackberry messanger. For example if I wanted to click on the "yawning" emoticon or the "can't watch" emoticon to use in an SMS i can't because it doesn't appear as an option, but it will appear in a blackberry messenger message.In blackberry messenger, it shows I have 45 different emoticons I can use, but in an SMS text, it only shows I have 30 emoticons. View 5 Replies View RelatedI was over at my sister's home. She decided to take a crack at guessing my blackberry password... 10 times. Ultimately she ended up clearing about 4 months worth of text messages, and contacts, the photos however remained unscathed.This lead me to wonder;
1. What is affected by a memory wipe.
2. Whether it's actually called a memory wipe, when someone enters your password wrong too many times.
3. Is there any way to get my contacts back?
4. Is there any way to get my saved texts back.Before I go on, I realize that this phone was and is designed specifically for business, I don't expect that there would be a way to get this information back, as that would defeat the purpose of a memory wipe in the first place.
5. How and where can I install the desktop manager? I've only been using my BB how it came out from the box because the CD included tends to freeze / crash my computer.
6. Why is it that the photos remain on the phone? 7. Before the memory wipe, my SIM card had enough space to hold tens of thousands of text messages, now after the wipe, and just another 10 - 20 texts, it constantly says "The SIM card is full." this is what got me HOPING, PRAYING, that somehow, my data was still in there somewhere.
Finally, thank you for taking the time to read through this, if you have an answer or a thought on any of the above, please feel free to post it. I need all the help I can get. (New to BB, New to forums, I might as well right "Lost" on my forehead and walk around this website.
Just rebooted my 9700 and all my texts got combined into one text from one sender even though most of them are from different senders they all appear to be from the same sender!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a forum search for my problem, and couldn't find an answer for my specific issue, which is this:My AT&T 9700 worked great until about a month ago, when it started to freeze while I was text messaging. Looking through the forums here, I noticed that it was happening when I had large numbers of saved texts, and I started deleting the threaded messages so that I was never over about 20-25 texts per person. That solved the problem for 2 weeks.Last week, I started deleting all text messages beyond 15 texts, total, and still I have the issue. I just had the phone freeze and refuse to allow me into the threaded portion of the text after just 3 texts (2 from my wife and 1 from me)!Does anyone else have this problem? I have done the following as well, in order:

Factory reset, no additional applications
Upgraded to the latest AT&T approved OS (5.0.0.602?)

Each time, the problem has recurred. I never have less than 105MB of application memory available.

i have a bold 9700, version 5.1.0.146, recently i have had issues sending texts to only a couple contacts, always in a certain time frame of the night after midnight. my time. I can send and recieve texts from other contacts. It is not this other persons phone.I have tried both reset options numerous times, i do notice once the phone comes back on i have new messages, that are actually old already read messages. So it seems the memory is goofy. i have changed my text delete time from 30 days to 15 days, and have cleaned up some memory in other areas. After midnight i seem to also get old messages poping up at the bottom of the screen as if they were just recieved. its sooooo weird! someone please help its getting very annoying.

BBM works fine, internet works fine and email its just the calls and texts in and out????
I have restored the phone and done all necessary updates but it still doesn't work, the SIM card is fine as ive put it in another phone and it does everything it should.
Four days ago it just stops sending texts and calls. When I try to send an SMS a little red clock appears next to the message and then after a few minutes it says 'Retries Exceeded'. Whenever I place a call it immediately turns up 'Call Failed'.Then I realised I wasn't receiving texts/calls either.All my bills are up to date, Orange have checked twice now that there isn't a bar on my account, I have set it to 2G only and 3G only, neither did anything so it's back to 2G&3G, I've checked I'm connected to the right network, I have pretty much full signal. I can use BBM and 3G reliant apps such as Facebook but I cannot send/receive emails with either of my accounts.I've updated to the latest OS and I even fully wiped the handset. Done numerous battery pulls.
Tested my sim card in a friends Bold and I suddenly received dozens of unread text messages and numerous missed calls.Kind of worried right now, as I bought this second hand ages ago... it wasn't provided with my contract (which was an LG Arena that I sold to help pay for the Bold) and I have no insurance to speak of.
I'm heading to an Orange shop tomorrow to see what they say, but I've got an awful feeling it's done for and I'll have to cope with my old Nokia 3310 (it's not even colour screen!) for the next 6 months while I save up enough money to buy another Bold...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
I am new to Blackberrys everytime someone sends me a picture with a SMS message. All I get is a message saying I have a picture message and it directs me to my provider. Do I have a setting wrong?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.
