BB Bold :: 9700 Can't Send Texts Call Or Access Internet
May 3, 2012
I had problems with my blackberry bold 9700 so I sent it way to get fixed & 02 said it could not be repaired and sent me a new one. However my new blackberry wont send texts, allow me to make calls or use the internet.
i have a bold 9700 on pay as you go but i have internet access as i have a sim card which allows you internet access and unlimited texts for 30 days if you top up £10 similar to a solo rolling contract does this mean i cant use bbm?
I have a unlocked Blackberry 9930 from Verizon. I have Tmobile. Im able to make calls and send texts but I can't go on the internet. If I have a wifi connection then Im able to go onto the internet but I cant change the previous acct holders email neither.
I have a blackberry bold 9700 i have a problem where i cant recieve or make calls or send & recieve text.. it comes up with signal and my mobile network - vodafone! i dont know what to do!
A bit of a newbie here..Is it possible to use a Bluetooth connection to my laptop in order to utilize the hardwired access internet to my laptop. I am NOT looking to use BB as a modem for my laptop.
I have a problem with a new blackberry bold 9700 i have just bought. I live in bolivia and i purchased this phone, asked in the store if it is compatible with my network etc and we tested with my sim. It worked fine for calls and got a 3g signal. When i returned home I tried configuring the internet access andn could not get this to work. So today i took it to my provider and asked a tech to configure and he said that i must first buy a "plan blackberry" for it to work - ok i said ad went to change my plan to plan blackberry - but after i had this the tried to set it up and then tell me that the phone is locked to only use at & t blackberry service. So my questions are ..
1. - is this true? 2. can i unlock this somehow?
seems unfair that i have paid full price for a phone that is tied to a network that doesn't exist in my country - it was imported legally - if i cannot change it.
i just purchased a replacement bb bold 9000 off ebay (it's an unlocked at&t handset that i bought after my bb bold got stolen... total bummer) and it was working fine all week up until last night when it stopped being able to handle incoming and outgoing calls and texts. The internet and email functions still work which is very peculiar. also some further info, when i put my sim card into another handset (in this case a nokia e65) all my normal call functions work and when i put another sim card in the bold the same thing happens (when i try to make a call it instantly pops up with a call failed warning). another thing is the bold shows full service coverage... currently the bold about shows... v4.6.0.304 (Platform 4.0.0.247) im on australia and for some reason i cant update the os to v5
I just got my new Bold9700 and am trying to set it up and failing completely. Part of this may be because I am in Costa Rica. The primary problem is that it is connecting to a WiFi network, but not to a BlackBerry Internet Service. I have a data plan, I am linked to a network here (called I.C.E), and I am connected to a WiFi network, but it will not open due to the lack of Internet Service connection.
My phone is apparently locked, but I am using a USA SIM card, not a Costa Rican one. Do I need to unlock my phone in order to connect to the Internet Server here? As a result of this connection, I also cannot access email or set up BBM.
I recently upgraded to the 9700 with Tmo in December. Coming from an 8900 I thought it would truly be an "upgrade". Since getting the 9700 i have had more dropped calls, call fail, can not access server etc. The phone will even go into a soft reset mid call, text or email for no reason. I called tmo and the replaced the phone and sim card. it worked well for about a day or two and BAM same crap. I am not so sure its the phone anymore. Some people i talk to say it is TMO service but i have never had this problem before and have been with tmo for 3 yrs.any suggestions /advice?
My blackberry suddenly forbid me to make, receive calls and send, receive sms. I've tried several way to fix this includeing -batt pull -batt pull + remove sim card -update FW .423>.442 -wiped and relode FW (.442) -resend service book -re-register host routing table
Then I look at manage connections>Services status and it says, Mobile Voice status: not available connection: not connected. put my sim card into another phone (nokia) it could make, reseive call and sms so it shouldn't be sim card problem. Other services are working fine, BBM, email and facebook.
I have someone who is bugging me constantly and I do not want to pay for the parental controls plan where I can have the person blacklisted from contacting me, so I wanted to know how would go about setting a specific contact's calls to go straight to voice mail whenever they tried to call me?
I have a Curve 9300 3G and I cannot make calls or send texts. If I try to make a call, the screen comes up to make one but a message appears saying 'no service available' and it cuts out. Texts show the red square that comes up when the message is being queued to be sent, even though there is no queue and adequate signal, and then go to a red cross. I can access the internet though and navigate around it. The phone also shows full signal and recognizes the SIM card. I have tried a battery pull and updating the software.
I just bought my BB curve of a friend just b4 xmas, it was working fine brand new not even opened but after a couple of days it just stopped letting me send and receive txt messages and calls it just keeps saying call failed ? I've trIed rebooting it, wiped it and went though even option but no joy, I can still use the internet an get emails ok everything else on it works fine.
Apparently my device is set to automatically send out read mail receipts. Can I change that option to never send them out? On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.
I was sent an email with a large attachment with it and now I'm unable to access my emails nor send texts?Whenever I try, I'm presented with this error message: -'Uncaught exception: java.long.array Indexoutofboundsexception' and an 'OK' button. When I click this, (in the vain hope all will be OK from there on in, it logs out of the app and I'm back to square one! Therefore rendering the phone useless! When I contacted Blackberry support, it states that it has no knowledge of 'Uncaught exception: java.long.array Indexoutofboundsexception' ?
Today my nokia e63 ran out of battery charge and as I was in town there was no way I could charge it. As I got home put my phone on charge and turned it back on, after a few minutes I decided I would send a text until I realized my phone would not let me do so. I had full signal and have tried to send a text in multiple areas around the house where I have signal. My girlfriend is on the same network as me and is having no problems at all. This all happened after my phone ran out of charge, is this a known issue? Does anybody know what might be going wrong with it?
I've just bought the 6760 slide unlocked from Vodafone. I want to use my 3 mobile sim. It's good to make calls, sms etc but won't allow me to access the internet or send mms. So I'd obviously need to change the settings but I have no idea how to do this.
I woke up this morning and replied to each of my texts but they each had that waiting symbol on the side of it and then it'd just turn into a red X. I've already taken out the battery twice and I know it has nothing to do with the signal or anything like that because I have full bars but I only have 1x, which I normally ever have in my house. I just have 3G. I can call on it fine so it has nothing to do with the bill.
My Blackberry Bold 9780 will not send a text message any more. The gprs logo in the top right hand corner has changed to lower case and this seems to have stopped it working.
Attempted various browser settings options and still unable to access secure(https) websites... the message ""... Returned an error when attempting to fulfill your request... I have also attempted access through opera mini, here I manage to get to the https site however the login process fails. Appreciate your guidance in resolving this.. N.B. I had no such problems with my old Nokia E71 ... I was hoping my new BB 9700 is an upgrade...
BB 9700 i cannot receive texts but i can send them BBM works fine , was on the phone with T-Mob for almost 3 hours their stumped , they wrote up a trouble ticket 72 hours will be up tonight ,they say engineering is working on it.This is my third 9700 since it was released in November this has been going on for almost a week and a half
Is there a way to put all the texts together instead of each one being separate for example when i text my wife she send me five and i send her one, on my screen it will show each one separate on the text screen. Is there a way to combined all of them together on the main screen?
My iPhone won't let me send texts to someone who used to have an iPhone but doesn't anymore. I can receive texts from them but can't send them texts. Says its an invalid number.
My texts are doing strange things for some reason. For example, when my daughter sends me a text it only comes up as her phone number, not her name. Also, I get a new text and it will not open unless I go and open the one before it, close it and then open the new one. Is this something only my Bold is doing? I did a search and did not come up with much. Any help would be great. It is not a huge deal and I have been dealing with it for some time but it is lame. Oh, it is not only my daughter who is also a Tmo customer but a friend on Sprint is also coming up as a number and not her name.
I keep getting messages from numbers that aren't even real phone numbers. They start with 9 and are 7 digits long (no area code). I get a few a day, usually at night. They look something like this:
"<Hotmail> http://m.mail.live.com <Reply M for more>"
Any help? I've had this problem with all my blackberrys so I'd imagine it's something with my SIM card (I am with the Rogers network)
For some reason I am missing emoticons in my SMS texting. If I am writing an SMS and click "add smiley" not all of them show up, but they do show up in blackberry messanger. For example if I wanted to click on the "yawning" emoticon or the "can't watch" emoticon to use in an SMS i can't because it doesn't appear as an option, but it will appear in a blackberry messenger message. In blackberry messenger, it shows I have 45 different emoticons I can use, but in an SMS text, it only shows I have 30 emoticons. How do I make them all appear?I am using a blackberry 9700
