HTC Desire :: Can't Send Texts Over Character Limit

I bought an HTC Desire about a month ago, and it's been working great so far. However, for the past couple of weeks, I noticed that I'm unable to send texts over the 160 character limit. Before, it used to just continue onto another separate text, which would both be simultaneously sent and would be received. Just to make sure that my texts aren't being lost, I changed my text settings to notify me if a text was sent through successfully; if I try to send a text over the 160 limit, the notification doesn't come up at all (not even to say that it failed), and my friends tell me that it says that the SMS says its "incomplete" and they can't read anything.

Any way to increase the CDMA blackberry's sms limit of 140 characters to 160? It's possible with motorola's and other phones. I know you can't make it send multiple SMS's unless you get an app like beyond 160

I was texting a friend today and he asked me why my text to him came in five different messages when there were only enough characters to fit into two messages. So I tried typing the same message again and a noticed that when I use emojis the character limit changes from 160 to 70. This happens on my One m7 with the HTC keyboard, Google keyboard, swiftkey, android l keyboard, and fleksy. Only keyboard it doesn't happen with is swype but I would hardly call swype's 15 face options emojis.

I have a HTC one and after what I assume was a whole system update (around 2+ weeks ago) it gave me the emojis/emoticons on the standard keyboard instead of just the smileys. Usually I have a character limit of 160 on the normal text messages but as soon as I add an emoji it cuts it to 70.
I've read somewhere that adding an emoji means all characters double, cutting it nearly in half, but the thing is, it was only a couple days ago that it started cutting down to 70. I was putting emojis in and it was only taking one character, and not changing the overall character limit.
I was wondering whether there was the possibility to change the sms formatting so emojis will only take one character and not change the overall count?

Why will my 7230 only accept names in the contacts with 10 characters or less? I have seen screen shots of the 7230 in phone review websites that show contacts with more than 10 characters. Also will not allow me to use small fonts in Contacts.

I just bought my Storm two days ago, and I love it tons (it's my first BBerry) but I seem to be only able to type out 48 characters in an SMS. I know that 'supposedly' you can do more than that in an MMS and e-mail (I have yet to try) but has anyone had this problem before? This is way too short for me, and I'm kind of on a budget at the moment so buying anything like Beyond160 is something I would do if I had the money. Are there any free apps that could take care of this, or do I need to call someone?

Any way to disable the limit of characters in a text message using the Xperia messaging app. Whenever I go over a certain number of characters, the app splits my text message into 2 or 3 SMS. So the person I'm sending it to receives 2 or 3 SMS instead of one. I had the same issue on my iPhone years ago, but Apple fixed it, so I can send super long SMS. Is there a way to fix this on my Z3?

I haqve just moved to Tenerife and got a movistar sim. I can receive calls and texts but cant send texts. I have tried to resend the service books but it wont allow me saying "your device had a problem connecting to the server". When i try send a text it says "requested facility not implented". What do I do?

Before Denim, I could send a video as a text (or MMS) as long as it was under 30 seconds. Now, everytime I try to send a video it says "File to big to send". So how do I go back to sending videos again?

Being aged 39 I wasn't too happy to have a hearing test this week to be told that I am 'borderline' need for the hearing aids! I've been given very strict instructions to 'protect' my hearing (ear defenders whenever using a powertool, turning down the volume on any personal music player, no standing infront of the speakers for 2 hour at a rave!)
Wihtout wanting to get into a debate about EU regulation or what safe volumes are, how I can cap the volume on my iPhone (iPhone 4, latest OS) to a relatively agreed safe limit? I remember that my older iPod Classic had a handy line that you could set the limit to (related, I think, to the FR/EU regulation).
I have found the slider in Settings>Music on the iPhone, how much I need to dial this down for it to be 'safe'. I intend using my noise cancelling headhone more (so I can hear more of the lower volume music)

I bought my desire hd a few weeks ago and all been working fine, then suddenly today it can't send emails anymore. I've checked all the virginmedia imap/smpt settings and all is fine, my virgin webmail is also fine. Looking at the virgin forums, there are a lot of people with HTC desires saying similar, but no one with blackberries / iphones / Galaxy etc reporting, so I thought it might have something to do with HTC?

I can receive emails on my unlocked HTC Desire S and can on my original unlocked HTC Desire but cannot reply or send fresh email on either. The settings are OK as they worked previously, in fact only minutes earlier on the Desire S.When satisfied it all worked OK I took the Vodafone SIM out of the Desire S and put it in the Desire to see if the email issue still existed. It did. I put the SIM back in the Desire S and the problem has replicated itself. Now all I can do is receiveI am reluctant to put the SIM in my unlocked Samsung Galaxy S2 in case the problem occurs again.

I live in a sort of remote area and my mobile coverage is kind of dodgy. This normally isn't a problem, but if I send a text message with my Desire while there's no coverage, it won't send at all. As in, even if I go outside and hold it in the air to get some bars, it will not automatically send the message from an outbox or whatever. The message shows up in the message thread, but I get no confirmation SMS.Even weirder still, if I've sent a message to a number while I was out of coverage, I can no longer send texts to the number even if I've got full bars. No confirmation, and when I talk to the person later, they didn't get it.

I am the happy owner of an HTC Desire since last week.I've got it logged into my corporate exchange server and it worked flawlessly for a week or so.However, since yesterday I can't send any message through my Exchange account anymore. The weird thing is that I still receive mails it synchronise my contacts and agenda but it just won't send any mail. The mails stays in the outbox and I receive a message saying it's impossible to send the mail.

I set up a new Exchange ActiveSync e-mail account on my Desire HD, and although I can send e-mails from this account from the phone, I am not receiving any (but they are arriving in Outlook on my desktop).So far, I have:Deleted the account and re-installedChanged the 'mail size limit' setting to maximumTried receiving e-mails with the 'sync when roaming' ticked, and also not tickedSet 'include file attachment' to alwaysNone of these have made the slightest difference. What bothers me is that I can use my phone to send from this account, which must mean the account information must be correct and working.

Alright, my Xperia X8 suddenly won't allow me to send texts, I was able to send earlier today, but not now... I can receive messages, phone calls and I can make phone calls as well, just not send texts.

Have only had this phone about 3 weeks and already starting to have various problems with it. Couldn't afford £9 a month insurance, but kind of wish I had done now.Can receive but cant send any texts any more. All texts try to send 3 or 4 times before failing. No explanation, just comes up with a red warning that says it has failed.Any idea how to make texting work again?

I woke up this morning and replied to each of my texts but they each had that waiting symbol on the side of it and then it'd just turn into a red X. I've already taken out the battery twice and I know it has nothing to do with the signal or anything like that because I have full bars but I only have 1x, which I normally ever have in my house. I just have 3G. I can call on it fine so it has nothing to do with the bill.

My Blackberry Bold 9780 will not send a text message any more.The gprs logo in the top right hand corner has changed to lower case and this seems to have stopped it working.

I can't seem to send texts to only 3 of my contacts since the 2.3 update. Everytime I try one of the numbers, the Messaging Force Closes. I din't understand why it's only 3 of my contacts that do this.
