when I set up a new email account and the new mail box icon comes on the screen i used to get a beep (tone) when the box would appear (this was on my 9000) now I would like to have a similar sound on this one but cant seem to find the settings
View 5 RepliesI just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

Looks like a box or briefcase with a red circle on the top right corner of the icon, either with a white star or arrow in it. Its too small to say for sure. It also remains on the Message folder.I was told to remove the battery when the phone is "On" and re-insert it. The icon does disappear only to return when new messages arrive. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications.They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?

I have recently notice a small red icon next to the carrier (Orange) name at the top of my 9700's home screen. On close examination it appears to be a house icon. I can't find reference to it in any of the booklets or by Googling. (I've also noticed that when I'm in the office it goes white).

i am using bb since 4 years. i now switched to bb bold 9700 which has wi-fi and 3g. i need help on following topics, sorry if this is repeat question but i searched all possible solutions on website but remained failed.
1. how to set up hotmail, yahoo mail, gmail accounts along with official company mails which is already set up. important is to received online mails the i am receiving official mails on company account, means it rings when a mail hits inbox, i want the same for hotmail, yahoo mail and gmail?
2. how to play Internet on it, when i click on any Internet video, it asked, do you want to switch to wap to stream the video, when i say yes, it gives error message, if i am on wi-fi connection, even then it does not play any video, simply gives error message.
I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I woke this morning to see my Yahoo email icon back on my home screen. Has anyone else gotten it back? And lastly, how do I change it back to a stock BB icon?

When I get a new SMS, it is the same as a new e-mail icon. However, this is not supposed to be so... SMS's are supposed to be a slanted envelop. I never had this problem with my old curve 8320. I've also had this icon issue since I got my phone several months ago. The icons remain the same no matter which OS version I use. I am on T-mobile.

I turned it on and off and rebooted, but it is still there, showing 1 e-mail, but there are none. Is there a hidden e-mail somewhere I am missing. Also had a few random reboots. View 9 Replies View RelatedI just updated my 9550's OS to the leaked .428 and the transition was fine besides one issue. The e-mail icon is stuck on my screen. I've read a few threads with this issue and tried every fix they had, nothing has worked. I think I've found the cause of the issue, but don't have a resolution. When I loaded the OS, I had two new Facebook messages. When the OS loaded, the OS recognized them as e-mails until I activated the Facebook app. When it loaded, the Facebook icon popped up on the homescreen, but the e-mail icon didn't disappear.
Some steps I've taken to try to resolve the issue:
1) Check all message locations, including SMS, MMS, BBM, e-mails, etc. There are no new messages anywhere.
2) Deleted both e-mail accounts from my phone, didn't take it away.
3) Backed up my data and wiped/restored.
4) Deleted Facebook as an app, then backed up the data and wiped/restored. Even without Facebook as an app the e-mail icon is still there.
5) Went to Options, Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, Register Now.
6) Went to Options, Advanced, Service Book, deleted my e-mail from there.
I have a new Bold 9700. I am new to the blackberry and for the life of me I can't see how to setup POP mail or internet access thru my 3G Connection. all my other phones I had in the past, when I incerted my SIN Card, I would get 3 text messages and all I had to do was save them and my internet was set up. but my Blackberry never got those messeges. is there a way to set up my 3G Internet access and my POP mail ? all I can find is an option to setup a enterprise server, and I do not have the other option that all the books say I should have ?
