BB Bold 9700 :: Call Log Icon Missing / Way To Remove Visual Voice Mail Icon
Jan 6, 2010I just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

Jun 25, 2010Yesterday my bb rebooted and when it turned back on I had a new icon under my personal email envelope icon. The icon is a yellow envelope, with a swoosh under it. I don't have any new messages, and I can't figure out what it is. How do I remove it? I have a bold 9700 with att.I"ve been researching the icon all night with no luck as to what it is.

Jan 5, 2010I was reading through BlackBerry 101 about using AutoText and had a couple questions about using it on my new BB:
1. Can Autotext be used in E-mail, MMS, and BBM messages also? The example given was used to make a signature in a SMS message. I tried sending a e-mail to my computer from my phone to my computer at home and it didn't work. I did set it up in Autotext to replace appt with appointment.
2. Can I use Autotext to make a macro. Example is when I type appt, can I get it to be replaced with something like "I wanted to let you know that I have an appointment with...."?
BB Bold 9700 :: Message Icon But No Messages
Aug 6, 2010I"ve had my bold 9700 for one month. The first 3 weeks were fine, all of a sudden, I keep getting the message icons at the top of the screen, but there are NO messages. I've deleted all messages, texts, phone calls etc., icon is still there. AT&T, nor the blackberry store seems to have a solution. I don't want to have to pull my battery every time this happens (multiple times per day).

Apr 10, 2010purchased a Bold 9700 on Vodafone and have found 2 little things that are bugging me because I can't find out what one of them is, or why the other happens!
1) I have a strange icon that I can't find a description of appearing next to 2 messages. It looked like a little phone symbol. It appears next to 2 of my conversations, in my SMS/MMS inbox and on he Blackberry Messenger inbox (as the conversations are via the PIN service). I have other conversations in my Blackberry Messenger inbox that appear with a little bubble with the blackberry logo inside, and messages in my SMS/MMS inbox that appear with the normal white speech bubble at the side. However, no matter what I do, these 2 conversations remain with the little Phone symbol next to them.....

1. how to set up hotmail, yahoo mail, gmail accounts along with official company mails which is already set up. important is to received online mails the i am receiving official mails on company account, means it rings when a mail hits inbox, i want the same for hotmail, yahoo mail and gmail?
2. how to play Internet on it, when i click on any Internet video, it asked, do you want to switch to wap to stream the video, when i say yes, it gives error message, if i am on wi-fi connection, even then it does not play any video, simply gives error message.

Jul 25, 2010When I get a new SMS, it is the same as a new e-mail icon. However, this is not supposed to be so... SMS's are supposed to be a slanted envelop. I never had this problem with my old curve 8320. I've also had this icon issue since I got my phone several months ago. The icons remain the same no matter which OS version I use. I am on T-mobile.

Aug 23, 2010I have cleared my e-mail in box, but can not get the e-mail icon on the top bar of the main screen to go away. It is still showing 1 e-mail, but there are none in my box. Aug 24, 2010Just a couple of days ago, I received a BBM from my daughter, although my cell was turned off for the night. I thought maybe I'd not turned it off. Last night again, I turned it off (I always do every night) and was woken early because not only was my turned off phone receiving messages, it had also enabled my Drive Safely app and the phone was busy reading everything to me.I checked and the phone was off. I still had to push the red phone key to turn it on.I immediately did a battery pull and will hope for the best.Has anyone had this experience?

Aug 14, 2010I use Sprint and everytime I miss a call the Messages icon appears and does not disappear until I open the messages folder and open the missed call message. This is incredibly annoying for me, as I usually just press the send key and see what calls I have missed. Doing this does not clear the messages icon or notification.
I really dont need missed calls sent to Messages, the only reason I ever use the Messages folder is to clear the icon from my screen.Can anyone help me either disable this icon or alter what is sent to Messages?

May 13, 2010Apparently my device is set to automatically send out read mail receipts. Can I change that option to never send them out? On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.
