Mar 23, 2010I'm running 5.0.0.314 with Blackberry messenger 5.0.0.57.First of all, when i try and backup my blackberry messenger contacts it says it will send a confirmation email to my email address, but it just stays pending forever. I never recieve the email. (not in junk or deleted) I am however able to recieve emails on my blackberry device whenever my email account does recieve an email.Secondly everyone on my blackberry messenger list doesnt show their display pictures nor does display picture changes on the other end of my contacts.Anyone know how I can fix this or is this an issue?

Aug 8, 2010I just got my first blackberry and I'm trying to adjust some of the settings.
1.) Is there an easier way to unlock the phone other than pressing the lock key at the top? I can conveniently lock it by pressing the * key, but is there an alternative for unlocking it? (I can't set it as a convenience key for some reason, it's not showing up as one of the options.)
2.) How do I set my alarms to vibrate only? I've selected and adjusted the "Vibrate Only" profile and made everything silent. But my alarms are still making sounds!

Jul 18, 2010I've searched the net and other forums for support and cannot find a solution to this problem. Essentially, on my Blackberry Bold 9700 I lost the ability to hit the K button to lock the keyboard. I have a BB 9700 running v5.0.0.714. I had not installed any new software at all before getting this problem. I didn't do anything differently other than launch the Kayak app. I updated the app and also removed it but still the K button does not work to lock the keyboard.
After searching the forums, I found a couple suggestions (which didn't work):
- Reset the theme didn't work but it did make the 'keyboard lock' icon come back to the home screen. The issue is that there is no under the K to make it so when I hit K it locks the screen. I even tried the default theme (it's a T-Mobile US branded 9700) and didn't work either.
- Reinstall service books didn't work either didn't think there is a correlation here anyway.
- Full restart, batter pull did this multiple times didn't work.
- Update software all software apps and OS is up-to-date. I have fully uninstalled the kayak app just in case there was a correlation, still doesn't work.

I need the "mute" and "loudspeaker" functions which are usually displayed on the screen during a call, So they are displayed on mine, but they are disfunctional and vanish when the display dims dark.Even if I put the blackberry on the desktop and keep 0.5m distance from it, it dims to dark screen within 2 seconds after pressing the "call" key, and even an immediate press on the "loudspeaker" icon in the left bottom corner of the touchscreen within these 2 seconds is ignored.

Feb 2, 2010Using 9700 on Vodafone UK - Software Version 5.0.0.423..This has happened a few times now. At first I thought it was just me not reading the screen properly. And it only happens now and again.
What happens is that sometimes when I get a call the screen shows the last callers details as if they were ringing again - but it is someone else.When I hang up the call or if I miss the call - the details then show the correct persons details - weird.
If I pull the battery out it all works fine then for a week or two and then starts happening again. It is not a big deal or anything - just a bit strange.
BB Bold :: 9700 - How To Display Flagged Emails In OS 6
Apr 23, 2011I've just upgraded my 9700 to OS 6 today. The new system looks great. In the email inbox, I found the shortcut ALT+F, which is supposed to display all my flagged emails, not working. Did a little google search and found that all the solutions available are for OS 5. Some of them mentioned setting criteria in the search option. However, in OS 6, I found the search option quite "clean". I couldn't find any way to set the search criteria and therefore there's no way for me to display all my flagged emails at one glance. This is quite annoying as the W shortcut for flagging emails works just fine but after that you can't find your flagged emails which makes the whole function meaningless.

Jan 25, 2010I also noticed that after i updated my software whenever I receive a message, the display message indicator at home doesn't indicate the total number of text message i receive but rather it displays the number of contacts who sent me messages. like for example contact A sent me 2 messages.
