I have just changed from an 8900 to a 9700 and I am very happy with it!One little thing I can't figure out is that when I am dialing a number it says at the top 'my number:unknown number' How do I change this to display what my number is?

Using 9700 on Vodafone UK - Software Version 5.0.0.423..This has happened a few times now. At first I thought it was just me not reading the screen properly. And it only happens now and again.
What happens is that sometimes when I get a call the screen shows the last callers details as if they were ringing again - but it is someone else.When I hang up the call or if I miss the call - the details then show the correct persons details - weird.
If I pull the battery out it all works fine then for a week or two and then starts happening again. It is not a big deal or anything - just a bit strange.
Can you someone really explain how to take off the "unknown number" when dialling anyone?Its NOT the "show my number" on the calls menu , it appears when you are making a call.Please help.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFor some odd reason missed calls are not showing on my call log.And for reference I have done the following:
- Checked and searched forums / the web
- Did a battery pull
- Checked application memory, standing strong at 85 MB
- Memory card has 1.8GB As well
- Cleared browser history and other memory 'stuff' just for the sake of it
The problem is old Missed calls are showing, but the new ones aren't. I haven't got the slightest clue why really, and I'm hoping someone here can help me out.
I am using a Bold 9700 on AT&T and when someone calls me with a blocked number, "uknown caller" does not show up on my call log. It wont show that I received that call and won't give me a call history. Any help would be appreciated.

I am running the .442 operating system on my phone. any tricks or tips on how to solve this?

Example let's say I am calling my doctors office. Their recorded message will say" press 1 for refill press 2 for nurse press 3 to schedule an appointment. When I press the "1" THAT number does not show up on my phone screen. It sure would be nice to see what numbers you are dialing in. What am I doing wrong?

Basically none of my contacts are showing up on my contact list, they seemed to have all been deleted! Also I am not using any filters. As well as this, all my text messages have no contact names assigned to them, just their number. However in my call log, my contacts names come up... And when I click on view contact through the call log, the contact's details all come up!!! For example, one of my contacts, John, is saved on my call log and when I click on view contact through the call log, his address and number comes up, so it is saved. However when he calls, his name doesnt come up...So I'm assuming my contacts are saved on my phone somewhere, but they dont seem to come up on my contact list or text messages!! I recently added my gmail account to my Blackberry.

I'm assuming once you login correctly once that the number if incorrect attempts resets to 0, but I've seen statements in various articles that state or at least hint otherwise.
I've had my bb bold 9700 for about a wk now & I can't help but to get irritated at the number of times a day it reboots itself. I will say tho, that I'm mainly noticing the problem when I'm using a app such as Pandora. BUT sometimes in the middle of a text or something it'll just reboot WTH is that all about? Any solutions besides taking the phone back? Ps: I'm new to the blackberry world so plz forgive my ignorance if this is something common with all blackberries or if its something I'm doing wrong
