When setting a password, for the "Number of Password Attempts" (set to 10), can somebody absolutely confirm if it is 10 consecutive logins, or if it 10 total?
I'm assuming once you login correctly once that the number if incorrect attempts resets to 0, but I've seen statements in various articles that state or at least hint otherwise.
I'd like to increase the number of attempts to insert the password in my password keeper but I do not seem to have the option to do so. This is the procedure I should follow right? On the Home screen or in the Applications folder, click the Password Keeper icon.Press the key > Options.Set the Password Attempts field.Press the key > Save..point is that under Options I only get Home Screen Preferences..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was changing my password to a simpler one. I cannot remember the key(s) I hit by mistake (they were numbers). I am at the 9th of 10 allowed attempts. The manual tells me the device will be wiped if I go to #10. I've searched for a phone number for technical support, or a "Contact Us" option on the Blackberry website. There seems to be no way to access tech support. The whole reason I was using a password was to prevent inadvertent downloads due to the super-sensitve touch screen. I've been charged for numerous downloads that I was unaware I made, apparently while the device was in my pocket. I'm very disappointed in the whole Blackberry experience. Shouldn't there be a way that my password can be sent to me via email as there is for most every other forum in our lives for which we need a password -- at least without the draconian action of wiping my BB Torch 9800 clean of my data?

I've got a problem with my Xperia X10. The kids got ahold of my phone and tried my password too many times eventually locking it out for too many attempts. The phone is now asking for my g-mail account and password. I tried entering the information requested, but it kept saying incorrect login/pass. I successfully went through the steps in g-mail for password reset, but the phone still is not taking the updated (correct) information. Is there any kind of a reset available for this phone? I can't make it past that g-mail account login screen.

Blackberry 9700 The device has problem if you activate the security password, the devices does not accept the password until 5 or 6 attempts and then prompts you to type blackberry to continue. Please note format and reinstall is not an option since the restored data does not work. Awaiting a quick solution.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working with a user who recently switched from a 9550 to a 9700 (verizon to at&t) for coverage reasons.Whenever he unlocks his keyboard (using the lock button on the top left of the device), he must enter his password to access his phone. The security timeout settings on his phone are set to 1 hour, but even if he locks the keyboard for 5 seconds, he still has to enter his password when unlocking it.The only time that the keyboard will lock and unlock without requiring a password is when it is entered/removed from the holster.We are using BES.I cannot replicate this issue with the 9650 or 9550. Unfortunately I don't have a 9700 at my disposal to play with.Is this a normal feature for the 9700?I've checked his encryption settings (disabled).We cannot disable the password function (mandated by BES policy).The issue is not that he has to enter his password, it's that he would prefer that a password not be needed unless the security timeout has expired.

I will say tho, that I'm mainly noticing the problem when I'm using a app such as Pandora. BUT sometimes in the middle of a text or something it'll just reboot WTH is that all about? Anybody know where I can get a replacement qwerty keypad for my 9700 with the red-numbers like the OEM and Rogers 9000 Bolds have? I loved it on my blacked out Bold...and really don't like the all white AT&T keypad. I've looked at Cnn.cn and TrueSupplier...and neither one of those sources have them.

I transfered my contact list but now when a contact rings their name doesn't appear but the number only as all the numbers are prefixed with +61 (I am in Australia) whereas from the contact list the numbers all begin with a zero. (So the number dialling in doesn't match with any numbers stored in the contact list). I didn't have that problem with 8900.

I scrolled thru my contacts later and it doesn't do it anymore. I liked that option and would like to "turn it on" if possible. I've had my bold for about 3 mons and it has never done it b4 or again. Just once just today. I'm running os .714 on TMO if that matters or is important.

View 11 Replies View RelatedAfter certain time in the phone all incoming calls show the same number in caller ID.The number that is shown will be the last call received before the problem starts.The call log shows the correct number but when call is received the same number is shown.This continues till the phone is reset. But it reverts back to the same issue after some time.I thought this was a problem with the phone and changed Handset and SIM card also, but still the problem came back after a couple of months.
