I have activesync policy set on exchange 2007 to enforce 10 failed password attempts, however on my IOS devices, the policy enforced turns to 5 when exchange account is setup.
When setting a password, for the "Number of Password Attempts" (set to 10), can somebody absolutely confirm if it is 10 consecutive logins, or if it 10 total?
I'm assuming once you login correctly once that the number if incorrect attempts resets to 0, but I've seen statements in various articles that state or at least hint otherwise.
I'd like to increase the number of attempts to insert the password in my password keeper but I do not seem to have the option to do so. This is the procedure I should follow right? On the Home screen or in the Applications folder, click the Password Keeper icon.Press the key > Options.Set the Password Attempts field.Press the key > Save..point is that under Options I only get Home Screen Preferences..
I was changing my password to a simpler one. I cannot remember the key(s) I hit by mistake (they were numbers). I am at the 9th of 10 allowed attempts. The manual tells me the device will be wiped if I go to #10. I've searched for a phone number for technical support, or a "Contact Us" option on the Blackberry website. There seems to be no way to access tech support. The whole reason I was using a password was to prevent inadvertent downloads due to the super-sensitve touch screen. I've been charged for numerous downloads that I was unaware I made, apparently while the device was in my pocket. I'm very disappointed in the whole Blackberry experience. Shouldn't there be a way that my password can be sent to me via email as there is for most every other forum in our lives for which we need a password -- at least without the draconian action of wiping my BB Torch 9800 clean of my data?
Every time i enter my password, its always saying incorrect password. Even when i change it to a new one. its as if the password is never saved or something, password i use with my iPhone is the someone i have always used. But with iPhone its always incorrect.
My phone says I need to update my apps, but when I try it says my password is incorrect. I have changed my password three times and it stil won't work.
I've got a problem with my Xperia X10. The kids got ahold of my phone and tried my password too many times eventually locking it out for too many attempts. The phone is now asking for my g-mail account and password. I tried entering the information requested, but it kept saying incorrect login/pass. I successfully went through the steps in g-mail for password reset, but the phone still is not taking the updated (correct) information. Is there any kind of a reset available for this phone? I can't make it past that g-mail account login screen.
No matter what I do in setting up my primary account on my iphone it keeps telling me my username and/or password is incorrect. I'm 100% sure it's correct. The account was working perfectly and nothing changed. I still use the email on my desk top so I know it is valid. It may even fetch the mail occasionally.
I changed my old Apple ID to a new one. ITunes recognizes the new ID from my Mac, but not from my iPhone or iPod Touch. It says "incorrect password." How do I fix this?
This is for a friends iPhone 4S. She always forgets her itunes password so I went to reset it for her through her phone. I went through everything and it said that it was reset to the new one. So then I updated her apps and that worked just fine. Then I went to download Pandora for her and it told me that her password was incorrect. Clearly it wasn't. I tried a few more times and it still didn't work. So then I reset it again. I tried resetting her password about 10 times and it still always says that it's wrong. I don't know what is going on. I've also tried restarting her phone and still nothing.
Today i tried my password 10 times and it now has a white screen and says Reload Software 513. Verizon told me to load desktop Manager on my PC at home from blackberry. I downloaded the desktop manager but my phone wont connect to it.
My exchange for gmail was working fine. Email, contacts and calendar. Then I was asked for the password because a pop up said it was incorrect. No matter how many times I enter the correct password, it stills says incorrect. I have tried the following
1. Delete and reinstall all email accounts several times. When I re-create the gmail exchange everything verifies and a minute later, I gt the pop up.
2. Delete iCloud account
3. Change password and try again
4. Add gmail account under gmail and that works fine but I'm still not getting my contacts.
5. Unlock captcha. When I follow the link I get a screen saying my identity needs to be verified and them I click okay and the screen says I have 10 minutes to use password on device. I never get he option to enter the scrambled code on my PC or phone Tried google double verification. None of these have worked despite multiple attempts. I have recently switched to google chrome and am using it under my PC laptop and iMac.
This has been stressing me out beyond belief. All I really want to do is download something from the App store and it KEEPS ASKING ME FOR MY PASSWORD. I've changed it three times. I enter everything correctly. I know I do because I checked it many of times?

Recently I've been having issues with my Yahoo account on my iPhone4. I have 2 accounts setup on my IPhone, one Gmail and one Yahoo. Recently when trying to update my Yahoo inbox, I've been getting an error message stating I have the Incorrect username or password. Each time this has happened, I've gone to Settings and noticed the stored password under my Yahoo account has been changed somehow. I retype the correct password, it verifies it with yahoo, and then instantly re-displays the incorrect password (obvious b/c it is 3 digits longer than my actual password)?
When I click the mail icon to take me to my gmail account it says "the user name or password for gmail.com is incorrect". I know for a fact that the username and password are both correct because I can still access my gmail account through my computer. I have deleted the account and have tried reading the account but it will not let me.
