Jun 11, 2010i know there is a option in the video recorder to switch recording resolutions from (480x360) and (176x144). Now, why is it that sometimes vids record in HQ (according to the playback quality, and what facebook calls it) and then sometimes it just shows standard quality. it's weird. Does anyone know what I talking about, and how do I make sure it always records at the best quality possible.

However, I want to add more icons to the home screen other than the 5 that are currently on there.How do I do this? I am currently using the "Widescreen HD 9700 O550" theme (which looks really nice).I just switched over from the G1/Android OS so I am still learning my way around the Blackberry.

Aug 26, 2010A few days ago I switched to another phone for a few days and I left my Bold with its battery removed for a day or two.When I restarted my Bold 9700, I've been unable to see or act on the home screen or apps screen. However, the phone is still working (push on the green button and the phone screen pops up), same with the long press on blackberry key.
I did search to do a reset of my handset but I can't find a way to do it knowing that I can't access the menus.

Jan 18, 2010The system seems to be locked on the "Home Screen" (the screen with the picture background). You can hold down the blackberry button and it will bring up a menu where I can read my email and make calls (the trackball works here), but I can't select anything on the home screen, or on the large list of icons.

Jul 15, 2010So yesterday my phone got cut off (forgot to make a payment. Sue me). I called ATT, made the payment and got the phone up and running. Problem was, my blackberry browser, ubertwitter and Facebook didn't work. But for some reason my opera mini did work. I called ATT and they did whatever it is they do and my phone worked again. This morning my phone froze. It stayed on the main screen and didn't do anything else. I did a battery pull and got the same thing. Now I can't even do a wipe because the phone stops responding when it gets to the main screen and my desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone when I plug it in. Can anyone help? I'm starting to wish I had just bought a damned iPhone.

Jun 1, 2010I figured this maybe a simple case of reloading the firmware but I wanted to know id nyone else had any insights.
Basically I can't get to the home screen, I have a password on my phone, soon as I try to unlock it the phone locks up.
I've done a battery pull and removing the SD card and the SIM but no joy.
But if I use the phone to make calls its fine.
Its really weird to say the least.
It could be the password causing it, is there anyway for me to disable the password outside of the phone itself? Such as using desktop manager? Or should I just bite the bullet and update the firmware?

May 16, 2010Recently got a blackberry bold 9700 as a gift. Noticed that a very tiny icon comes up near the upper left corner of the screen. Looks like a box or briefcase with a red circle on the top right corner of the icon, either with a white star or arrow in it. Its too small to say for sure. Can't find any answers in the manuals or online.

Aug 17, 2010I have a problem with my 9700 and I donīt really know if it is the phone or the battery.It shuts down when I use an aplication that needs power, like recording videos, websurfing, downloading/installing apps thats sort of stuff. It goes off, and I have to pull batt to get it started again.If I do it 3 times in a row for example, the battery goes down from 100% to 70% in just the time it needs to restart those 3 times.I tried to do a security wipe, reinstall the os (.862), taking out the micro sd and it keeps shuting down. I donīt know if it could be a battery problem or the phone. any idea?

It also remains on the Message folder.I was told to remove the battery when the phone is "On" and re-insert it. The icon does disappear only to return when new messages arrive. Jan 19, 2010I downloaded a few application that I thought were demos of games, but turned out to just be links to the developer's website. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications.They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?

Mar 5, 2010I have recently notice a small red icon next to the carrier (Orange) name at the top of my 9700's home screen. On close examination it appears to be a house icon. I can't find reference to it in any of the booklets or by Googling. (I've also noticed that when I'm in the office it goes white).
